I was wondering when someone else would notice that cover.

EDIT:
Am I the only one who thinks that looks kind of, erm, shit?
It looks kind of Fable-y to me...
That's not necessarily a good thing...
I'll still give a go, however.

I like the way the aesthetics of the game are shaping up, and there's still a year of development to go. The Handyman definitely suits the style of Columbia. And I want that bottle on the magazine cover in the link.

This confirms it - if they keep this character model, or at least the head design, every single time I see one of these "Handymen," I am going to be compelled to shout out random Daniel Day Lewis lines.

I'm not looking foward to this game I swear it's getting worse day by day. I mean, it's not Bioshock anymore, when I think of Bioshock I think of Big Daddies, Water, a dark ruined city. But this is in the air, with stupid-ass 'handy mans', in a bright city.

Very interesting. I like that the Handyman is much more human than the Big Daddy. I feel like I'll be able to empathize with them more.

I like it. He's kind of silly and over the top, but that just makes him more sinister. He kind of reminds of a Doctor Who monster really (specifically, the ones from The Beast Below). They just seem like they've been created to help the population but have been twisted to work for some individual or group as enforcers. If they make them lurk in the shadows and appear behind you noiselessly then they could be pretty unnerving.

You know what, that's a perfect description of that screenshot. It really does look like a Fable game. In fact if I saw that thing in Fable, I'd actually think it was some interesting enemy design.

But for a game that is supposed to be the spiritual successor to Bioshock, that's just dumb. It looks like this big, cartoonish thug. Again that's fine in a game like Fable but here I just think it looks stupid. What reason is there for it to look like that anyways?

Still, the game isn't anywhere close to coming out so I'm willing to assume that is not an accurate representation of the final product.

You know, I had the same problem that you did until I stopped thinking that this was supposed to be Bioshock game. It's like Bioshock and System Shock, the former is (supposedly) the spiritual successor to the later. Same thing with this game, only for some reason they dragged along the Bioshock title rather than giving it its own name. Probably just to gather appeal and attention based on the people's favorable opinions of Bioshock. It's the same thing Square Enix does with Final Fantasy, and it annoys me since it gives false impressions about the final product.

Looks cool enough.
Though I think I'd still prefer the 'crab man' title they had before.

Given how Fable 3 takes place in the industrial revolution of the world, it looks really, really Fabley to me.

But yes, in that screenshot he does look too cartoonish and dim witted. If they stick with the more sinister look from the magazine cover in the OP then I think it could be pretty good.

Now, where's the guy who was trying to convince me he was in a diving suit just like a Big Daddy, then moaning that it didn't even make sense blah blah blah?

I must gloat, dammit!

Is it really that hard to consider that the name BioShock has more to do with themes and a general feel as opposed to aesthetics?

That would probably be me. So I guess you were right; they did make a design that looks different from the Big Daddy (I don't understand why they tried to hide this in the video only to reveal it in a magazine). The only problem is that it looks absolutely horrible., and still makes no sense. I guess you could say it looks like a walking statue so it won't look horrible and disturbing to civilians. The only problem with that is that it has a visible, pulsating heart so it's going to look disturbing anyways.

You can see the buttons on his jacket in the trailer, as well as the outline of his face.
And what exactly does that prove? They still tried to hide it, and it still looked like a Big Daddy.

I gotta say though; I like the direction the game is going. It has that steampunk feel with the Handymen that not a lot of games go for. And these guys just look like there gonna open a can of whoop-ass. Though, there chest is exposed..... that holds there heart........

aww I thought he would be monkey like so he could easily get round the city o fix things but bioshock infinite looks like its about fascism (bioshock 2 was communism and bioshock was something which I forgot the name of) so I think this clock work man sort of fits in with that because he is there to be a spy for the authority's a secret police he would properly be mate to help around the place so people would trust him. when some people start to plot against the founder he changed their purpose and would any one else fin it creepy if the enemies where people who have replaced parts with clock work machines so they could be good enough for the state. you would fight people who are more machine then man. just because they were told they weren't perfect enough.
