I was kind of skeptical about the first two Bioshock games, but nowadays I am pretty interested in the franchise. Do you think that Bioshock Infinite would be a good place to jump into the series for someone who didn't play the other two games?
No reason not to play the first two Bioshocks. They're both pretty self contained, 2 has a few tie backs, but if you know the general story of 1, you should be good.
I liked 2 better than 1, and I have very little interest in Infinite, but I'll at least read some reviews before I decide if I want to play it.
I don't see why you couldn't jump into the series at Infinite. The actual story of Bioshock 1 and 2 is done. Infinite is it's own thing, it just shares some similarities.
While they sound fairly seperate tales, I'd at least play 1 first, as you're looking at about £5 for the first or second by now, and it's so worth that much to experience them.
Bioshock Infinite has its own, separate story from the first two. I believe its namesake comes from gameplay similarities, along with a desire for brand recognition.
That said, you really should play the first one. It's really cheap, and worth your time.
Bioshock 1 Was the foundation of the Bioshock franchise so I'm insisting that people who haven't played it by now need to before they consider buying Infinite. Even if the settings are completely different and story has been altered beyond comparison, Bioshock 1 set us on a solid path to really appreciate the following works of 2K.
Also Bioshock 1 was a f***ing good game anyway and you're an idiot if you havent borrowed/bought it by now.
