It turns out I still have a bit of change left in my paypal account, and I was wondering if Bioshock would be worth purchasing for 20 bucks? I've heard lots of good things about it, but I just want to know so certain things about it from other people.

1)Is there replayable? Will I want to play this more than one time through?
2)Are there achievements for the PC version, know this, it can probably answer #1
3)I keep seeing it under RPG? Is it really an RPG? From what I can remember from images and video from a while back, it looked more like an FPS style game or an Oblivion style game.
4)How long is it?
5)Would you recommend me getting it for 20$? and if not, can you think of any other games I could get off of Steam for under 30$?

By all means, buy this game, but not for the reasons you're suggesting.

Through its character-driven use of objectivism, Bioshock is philosophically liberating game. If anything, it'll make you understand your place and the world and take an active stance upholding or resisting it. Everyone needs that.

To answer your questions:

It's good for a second play through.
Don't know about achievments.
More of a first-person shooter.
Give or take five-eight hours long.
Twenty bucks is more than worth it.

It's got gorgeous settings, a lush soundtrack, excellent voice-acting, and a few delicious plot twists. Some might even call it life-changing.

But that's if you're looking at it narratively as opposed to as a game precluding achievements, longevity, and as an idle time-killer.

PC achievements?

Don't tell me you like using GFW LIVE?

Oh, and from what I've heard, yes - buy it.

It's alright. Not what it was hyped up to be but it's pretty darn enjoyable, has a really cool setting and background, some really good moments, some creepy ones and all things considered, is a pretty damn good game.

I got it for about seven euros, but twenty sounds like a fair price for it.

Let me tell you a story...

I bought it on the PC when it first came out. After beating it, I lent that copy to my girlfriend so she could play it. She loved it so much, I told her to keep it.

Bioshock-less, I went to the store and picked it up on 360. All in all, I spent around 110 dollars on Bioshock (that is, including both copies, of course).

It is worth 20$ easily. In fact, buy two copies and spread the joy of Bioshock to a friend or aquaintance.

It's like a religion.

Absolutely. It's one of my favorite games ever. You will want to play it after you've beaten it so you can get all the audio diaries and learn the story even better. There are some RPG elements, but I would hardly call it an RPG. The game is about 10-12 hours long and that's if you don't take the time to admire the beautiful environments and don't search around for audio diaries and kill Big Daddies. It's probably one of the best 20 dollar games out there and you will not be disappointed. If anything, play it for the experience which is unmatched.
