I never though I'd hear someone on BBC, with a BBC accent, say ".. Big Daddy. You are a cybernetic organism".

I'm rather surprised that they found a clip from ZP that was over 20 seconds long and didn't have swearing in it.

Also, the BBC did not credit Yahtzee at all - there's not label on screen saying "Theescapist.com" or "courtesy of Ben Croshaw" or anything, my guess is they didn't know about this.
If so, while "Fair Use" applies for things under 30 seconds, some sort of reference should have been made more than the off hand mention from the correspondant. This is Yahtzee's work they're stealing after all.
Whenever you see someone quote a newspaper, have you ever seen them say "Charlie Brooker of The Guardian" or even just "Charlie Brooker"? They say "The Guardian". From what I gather Zero Punctuation is contracted by The Escapist, just as writers for traditional media are contracted by their relevant outlet, therefore crediting to The Escapist is surely the norm.

Let me point out that BBC news's tech reports are a bit behind on the gaming scene. They see fit to only report avery two months or so.

Well done to Yahtzee for making on the beeb though, and for good reasons too.

Error #1: He said it was 1930's. BioShock took place in 1960.
Error #2: He said the Escapist was a satire website. The Escapist is more that satire.
Error #3: He said 1930's again!
Error #4: He said Big Sister was a robot.

Four errors in 3 minutes? Reminds me when Time Magazine said Bayonetta was clad in black leather.

it's a shame the guy didn't drop yahtzee's name, or even the name of the show, although he did mention the website.

It's also funny to hear yahtzee's Bioshock review voice, because he's gotten a lot faster and angrier since then
The BBC aren't actually allowed to advertise, because it's funded by the British public, and saying his name would be seen as advertising. But showing part of his review isn't for some reason.

So Yahtzee's made it onto mainstream media and news now. Step in the right direction.

And HOORAY for a great plug to the Escapist, might see more members in the future now, hopefully more mature ones as not many kids watch News24

classic BBC
they completely forgot that the FIRST thing he said during that review was that he thought it was probably one of the best games of they year, and that he'd only be focusing on the negetive side of it because "people don't like it when i'm being nice to a game"

You are, of course, correct. My gripe is not that ZP is not referenced by name, but the way in which the escapist is referenced. Whenever traditional media shows a clip from a programme or a headline from a paper, there will always be an on-screen label saying "courtesy from theescapist.com" or whatever. It's a mark of respect, and recognition that they're using something someone else has created.
If you have a 3-minute report, 20 seconds of which comes from another source, it's just good practice to do this, more than the seemingly off-hand "here's what somewebsite said" that the reporter uses. It's just my opinion, but to me it smacks both of slapdashery and a lack of respect.

P.S. Charlie Brooker is God though. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Car4WJkkd-g]

I'm surprised they would show something so borderline offensive on national television.
Why, that's almost as bad as bringing a 2 inch plastic lego gun to school!
Ha ha.
I wonder how many people, sitting at home watching the news, laughed at Yahtzee's portrayal of the issue.
