I hope they manage not to listen too much to the whiney Skyrim fanboys that frequent forums such as these...
I thought that the big sticking point was between DA2 and Witcher 2? What with the Greg Tito disaster.

Honestly, I'm not that excited by this announcement, it's little... vague. It could be good, but I'll wait and see.

Also does anyone else think the title's a little weird? I mean you could call most of DA2 a kind of inquisition over the mages, and considering how that ended I can't see another one making a lot of sense...

Skyrim with a decent story and characters with some personality and which you can remember after 2 minutes sounds good.

Their recent games have been flawed, but they still were entertaining, so I'm looking forward to Dragon Age 3 with cautious interest.

So, uh... Is the gameplay going to harken back to the first one or are we stuck with the DA2 system? Or will it be something else entirely?

You know, I liked DA2 in concept; keeping the setting in a city would've been fine if that city had really changed over time (And if it'd been larger, of course) but the gameplay change is really quite inexplicible. I mean, your target audience for a sequel is probably the people who bought the first game, right? They probably bought bought the first because they liked it. That's not to say you can't make changes, but a change like turning it into a diablo-style button masher (I play it on Xbox because I hate origin) makes no sense to me. That's like if you took Mass Effect and made the third one into a sci-fi themed sim city.

Also I hope they go back to the DA1 method of conversation rather than the mass effect wheel.

Really looking forward to this one, since I'm one of the 3 people in the world who thought Dragon Age 2 was pretty good (bless me and my low standards).
You are not alone my friend... you are not alone.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this as well, quite enjoyed both Dragon Age games.

Hmm, hopefully the Frostbite engine will allow them to give a nice facelift to the graphics and get rid of some of the cutscene glitches.

/cautiously optimistic

I'm a little disappointed there isn't much more to the announcement. My inquiring mind wants to know MORE!

Please someone tell me that it will have fully voiced main character!

Dragon age 2 was not actually that hated. It's just that the people who hated it made more of a noise than those who liked it.
I am looking forward to it, but I trust Bioware less now than I did when I played DA2. Will it be good? who can tell we just have to hope the environments are not all the same, the armour ins't all boring and the ending makes sense.

What does Skyrim have to do with DA3?
Most people here seem to prefer Skyrim over DA2. I'm of the opposite opinion, so I simply hope the 'listening to the fans' is kept to a minimum. For my sake.
I prefer Skyrim over DA2. Then again i pretty much prefer anything over DA2. When you're refering about the whole "Let's ,make DA like Skyrim" - Thing, then yeah i agree with you. Those games should not be copying from each other.
Back to topic: Frankly i don't think they have it in them to make another masterpiece ala Dragon Age - Origins.
You can take that literally.
They just lost too many good people since EA took over, to do something that great again.

I don't thing the main character having a voice is something that the people actually dislike.
What they dislike however, and i agree with them on that, is that "voiced protagonist" means for Bioware "Conversation wheel!". While that worked in Mass Effect, in Dragon Age it just resultet in completely meaningless conversations, were, what dialoge choice you took, had no impact on the dialogue whatsoever.
They really need to get rid of that stupid thing.

They'd better not fuck this up like they did with Dragon Age 2.

Here's me hoping for a miracle that this game will have at least a shred of Dragon Age Origin's charm.

Cool. Could be good. As much as people ***** about BioWare they do consider player feedback a lot.
Which isn't a good thing. Considering most of their fanbase, which is more concerned about which characters (and whatever else) they'll be able to screw. rather than actual gameplay, encounter design and proper rpg mechanics.
I think "considering feedback" is good. Doesn't mean they have to design by it. They've said as much as before.

Hot off the press from http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/home/email/alert/?ndmViewId=news_view&newsLang=en&newsId=20120917005535 :

With Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, we want to give fans what they?re asking for ? a great story with choices that matter...
"We've already added a whole purple tinted ending in addition to red, green, and blue!"

All joking aside, I'm looking forward to this game. I'm by no means expecting it to be perfect but I've enjoyed most of the recent Bioware games, even the previous Dragon Age. This one even gets a subtitle!
