Why can't femshep just date Joker? he's funny, he's useful, he has an actual backstory and flaws that make him more awesome.
Aside from the fact that she will crush his pelvis every time they have sex?

The entirely awesome Garrus, who is nevertheless a scaly and crusted anthropomorphic lizard and thus unlikely to bestir many hearts.
I thought Turians were supposed to look like cats? Garrus is a cool cat.

1.His face does look very punchable.

2.What if bioware are trying to turn femsheps and femhawks into lesbos by giving them lame guys to choose from?

3.it is very one sided. male shep gets miranda (dat ass) ashley (still hot) tali (sexy nerd) jack (total dom) or Liara (pure hawtness).

Femshep only gets jacob (meh...) thane (srsly?) kaiden (more yawn) or garrus (he's cool as a friend but i don't see how it would work if you tried to do it.) Why can't femshep just date Joker? he's funny, he's useful, he has an actual backstory and flaws that make him more awesome. maybe bioware is just trying to be PC by putting a "play as a girl" option. idk.
Oh mother of Chuck Norris. SOMEONE. SEND THIS TO BIOWARE. NOW. THIS. A MILLION TIMES THIS.
Now that you've said it, I wonder why BioWare didn't come up with this earlier?...

In my experience, women tend to levitate to the Douchebags. So fuck choice. Save the devs time.

You think you have it bad? What about all the girls in Mass Effect!?

There's Ashley Williams, a stubborn woman who apparently couldn't care less if any number of aliens die, no matter how nice they are. Mirana is a self-loathing, genetically-altered dirtbag who actually doesn't mind killing aliens if it benefits humanity. The fact that she can't have kids puts a damper on any family-building plans, as well.

The less I say about Jack the better. I know she has a deep and reflective past, but she makes the inner child in me want crawl into some dark corner and weep. Ironic, isn't it?

And then you have Tali, who seems genuinely nice except for the fact that ANY PHYSICAL CONTACT has the potential to KILL HER!!

Liara is not an option simply for the same reason you mentioned Garrus is not an option.

So you say that Bioware hates women, do you? Shit on that! Bioware hates everybody! My choices have been reduced to a xenophobe, an extremist, an unstable ***** (she admits it!), a tupperware container, and a monogendered pre-Avatar model!

...so yeah, love stinks. Maybe take a break.

Actually she doesn't they are preprogrammed inflections. Mordin even says so when he comes aboard. It's pretty lame that the only good male character is off limits really.

Just proves the Op's hilarious point.

Because every time someone suggests it a million people descend and say he belongs with a computer and he can't have a relationship becuase he is disabled.

And of course, those of you old enough to remember Baldur's Gate 2 will recall that male heroes had their choice of three lively and vivacious companions, and female heroes were stuck with Anomen fucking Delyrn. A man distinguishable solely by the fact he had the most punchable face in the history of gaming. Just look at him, and tell me you don't want to punch the HELL out of him.
No, that face belongs to Tidus from Final Fantasy 10. Anomen was a fucking whiny, smug bastard, but nothing compares to the sheer brain-rape that was Tidus, who looked like Squall knocked up Meg Ryan and injected liquid-***** in-vitro until the birth.

And yes you could KILL Tali sorry but it's true. The fact that people think thats okay while a romance with Joker isn't is just totally lol.
Joker is already in a relationship with EDI.
And EDI can be calibrated so that she won't break him! Match made in heaven!
Why do people have such a prejudice against disabled people having a relationship? It's kind of awful.
You really need to get a sense of humor, pal.

The weird thing is, I bet your onto something, maybe in Mass Effect 3, the chicks will get a lesbo option. Hold on while I use the magic power of BING!
*After Binging the shit out of websites.*
Well, I'll let Jeezus explain this one....

[sub] Sorry, I'm having too much fun with pictures, this week.[/sub]
Anyways, only male shepehards get to be lovey dubbey with another guy, thus meaning Bioware is trying to please the Gay Groups out there *Nothing wrong with that, fellas* but seems to not want the other half in on the fun yet.

Also, may I punch that guys face with you?

Just kind of sick of people coming out with that excuse like it isn't completely offensive that's all.

actually...I didn't mind thane. I am a sucker for a sad story though, and Than just drew me in. I'm probably one of those few though. I guess my femshep can't help but go for the sad xeno's.

On the other hand though, I do recall that my femwarden had a thing for princes' and red-headed bards with irish accents.

I am attempting Fenris if only soley for the fact that it'd be hilarious if he fell for a mage. Other than that..well...Anders can kiss my arse (you were so likeable in the last game. why'd they gay you up!?) and the rest just kinda...stink.

the elfish girl isn't bad except for the fact th at she's kinda..umm...stupid. No, relaly. I know they were going for the whole 'innocent and cute' thing with her, but she more came across 'inept and mildly retarded'

Captcha doesn't get it, but did it ever? Wow. Captcha. Now there's a romance option you wouldn't take. You wouldn't, would you?

I wish us guys had a Garrus. And I don't mean an alien, because we've got Tali for all the interspecies relations we need. I mean a funny, loveable Batgirl figure with the capacity for witty banter.

Basically, Garrus is Alistair with less whining.

Since you listed nearly every Bioware female romance option EXCEPT for Leliana (the best one), I do not believe I can take anything else you said seriously.

I'm a straight male gamer who plays straight male characters but will occasionally play female characters.

I haven't played Mass Effect.

I'm with you as far as Dragon Age Origins goes.

Straight male characters can pursue Morrigan, who is appealing in a "bad girl" sort of way. She's a little slutty and unscrupulous, but when you consider that she's lived in seclusion most of her life, she probably hasn't been around the block. Then there's Leliana who is the charming "reformed bad girl" who can be persuaded to be a bad girl again, so she's sexy whether you're looking for a good girl or a bad girl.

Straight female characters can get together with Zevran (literally a man-whore) or Alistair (either funny/endearing or annoying depending on who you ask).

Straight male characters definitely have the better options.

As far as Dragon Age II goes, I have to disagree.

Straight male characters can go after Merill (who can be charming in a nerdy, skittish, kind of way, but is obsessive to a fault) or Isabella (who has physically attractive but ridiculously unrealistic proportions and an STD archive).

Straight female characters can pursue Fenris (appealing if you're into the brooding type with the "anime" look), Anders (charming if he didn't whine so much about mage oppression, but if you consider how mages are treated in DAII, I consider it forgivable), or Sebastian (I can see how the religious stuff could be a turn-off for many, but I consider him to be the most attractive character in the game; no lie, major man-crush on Sebastian over here).

I think straight female characters got the better options. At the very least there's 3 options as opposed to 2, so it's more likely that one of the three will suit your taste, and the way that all three of the male characters play into the events of the game's ending makes things a lot more interesting from a role-playing perspective.

Then we can move along to Mass Effect, where we have the unbearably fabulous Kaidan Alenko, who is almost certainly a moldering corpse on the surface of Virmire because Ashley is so goddam indispensable. Thane, the utterly demoralizing and downbeat frog-man with his acid flashbacks and relentless fatalism. The entirely awesome Garrus, who is nevertheless a scaly and crusted anthropomorphic lizard and thus unlikely to bestir many hearts. Leaving us with Jacob, and was there ever a duller romantic lead than Jacob Taylor? They wasted so many development resources detailing his improbable pectorals they forgot to program him up a personality.

So please, Bioware, throw the Femhawkes and Femsheps a frickin' bone, will you? Where's their Morrigan? Or Ashley? Or Tali? or Jack? Or Miranda? Or Merrill? Why do guys have a range of at least moderately interesting stock personality types to choose from, and girls get a choice of Blandy McBlanderson, Repulsive Alien, Raging Metrosexual, or Epic Douchebag? Surely you can't expect ALL of them to become lesbians just to avoid weeping quietly into their pillows at the compromises they have to make to get that romance achievement?
Well first off, in their defense, femshep isn't cannon I believe, (yeah, I'm just dealing with the Mass Effect part of your argument) so if there weren't any good options I would understand, but there are. Honestly, Kaiden is probably the least interesting of them all and you talked like he is some sort of god on earth. You just refuse to like the other options BECAUSE they are aliens, or to be more precise, because they are aliens with scales. Honestly, Jacob was just a boring character, it wasn't some kind of "FU WOMEN" from everyone at Bioware, he was just poorly done compared to other characters. Let's not even begin to mention the fact that even more relationships will be available in the 3rd game, (honest to God I have no idea why they are doing MORE relationships) so you have the chance to look there. Just because you didn't like the options doesn't mean actual women didn't.

Oh and once again, FEMSHEP IS NOT CANNON. I'm so tired of hearing about her because honestly, she's not better than Male Shep.

But still, Msheps get Miranda (Smug, whiny *****) Ashley (Mass Effect equivilant of Fred Phelps) Jack (Just plain ugly). So... yeah.
And Liara, who (despite her age) I keep thinking of as [a href="http://www.escapistmagazine.com/gallery/view/26/112871/471.1"]jailbait[/a]. Same with Merril. Averline looks like she took too many steroids and has the emotional range of a spoon. Isabella is probably the one that gave Zevran all his STDs.

I love Tali, but that doesn't change the fact that she's an alien, and I'm not even sure if we're 100% compatible, if you know what I mean. Plus I can see some issues later down the road. Instead of "Not tonight, I have a headache," it'd be "Not tonight, I don't want to spend the next week with pneumonia."

Lelianna might have been ok, but then she said "I could talk about shoes all day," which is an instant deal breaker for me.

And Jack's not ugly, she's just psychotic. I'd be afraid to sleep with her, worried I'd wake up with fewer digits than when I started.

So, yeah...

That's how you interpreted "unbearably fabulous" eh? Alrighty.

I would argue strongly that neither femshep NOR manshep is cannon. Nothing is cannon. Except perhaps the Thanix Cannon.

PS - It's "Canon".
