Bioware gives away free copies of Mass Effect 2 in order to help sell DA2!

Ooooor.... they're working on adding to the hype for ME3's release later this year by trying to get Dragon Age fans interested in another of BioWare's IPs....

DA2 has been selling reasonably well. People try to do a straight comparison between the sales of Origins and DA2 to say DA2 without taking into account that Origins was released right at the start of the holiday season (which spikes sales) while Dragon Age 2 came out as people were heading into tax season.

Seriously, can we stop the incessant and insipid "Omg look at how much DA2 sucks and how desperate BioWare must be!!!!11one!!!eleven!1" threads?

Get a life and let it go already.

The white knight has a point. Its getting tiring. From people I actually know, DA2 actually seems to be a decent game. Not brilliant, but worth the money.

Its just a bunch of angry gamers who are annoyed that "THEY DUM DUM IT DOWN" while overlooking that its not actually that dumbed down.

DA2.... yatzee's review was spot on, the game is deffinately in a holding pattern for whatever they really wanted to do. Still loved it though, but never before has a game been in such dire need of DLC the first of which should be titled "The actual game" for about 2000 microsoft points lol

I remember when THQ gave a free copy of Metro 2033 to anyone who preordered Homefront and I don't remember who (there were many) who said that it must be a shit game since they are giving away a free game to anyone who buys it.

Since those people are on escapist I can almost guarantee they would switch their opinion about DA2 in light of giving away a free game for buying it faster than Glen Beck.

I don't honestly understand the point of this thread...
I viewed DA 1 and 2 as a breath of fresh air but didn't enjoy ME 1 or 2. . . and I've always loved biowares storytelling epic.

Now the idea of paying full price for ME1 or 2 has always been something I shy from.
But getting it free with DA2 "for example when I buy my brother a copy" means I might actually care to play through this... expanded KOTOR butchery...

yes, you most definatly DO need to spend more than 3 hours on it, ME1 was a masterpiece of gaming, it should never be knocked, if you complete the game and then go meh, then fair enough, its not for you.

but at least give it a try.

Hmm. I've definitely heard that before, involving a lot of games I really dislike.
Personally if it's a masterpiece of gaming for you and even a million others, awesome! Enjoy! But I hated the game mechanics from the get-go and was very annoyed with the feel. We'll see... since I'll be getting it free

i never saw anything wrong with DA:2, i rather enjoyed it.

Yes, Dragon Age 2 is probably the weakest Bioware game for a long time, but that doesn't make it particularly bad nor does it indicate that Bioware is now going to spiral into oblivion. Disappointing? Yes, but that's no reason to throw your toys out of the pram...

I do, however, dream of the point where Bioware tell EA to go fuck themselves, but that's just an idle fantasy.

Dragon Age 2 was good. Like, REALLY good. I don't understand why so many people hate on it. I LOVED Origins, Awakening, all DLC, and now DA2. None of it was bad in the slightest.
