In all seriousness; how many RPG fans thought ME1 had too many numbers to crunch and inventory options?
I did, and I've been playing RPGs for years, both videogames and table top.

It got to be ridiculous towards the end of the game. If you get to the point where you literally can't carry any more weapons, armour or equipment, but you can't get rid of anything because you've also got the maximum amount of money and omni-gel, then it's too much. The system sorely needed streamlining, although personally, I felt that ME2 streamlined it a little too much.
As I mentioned in my previous post, that's not a fault of the options as much as it's a fault of the lazy and cumbersome inventory system.

I consider this a statement of fact rather than a marketing ploy.

BioWare Edmonton knows that Mass Effect 3 is their most anticipated game (the qualifier is important, since The Old Republic is being made in BioWare Austin) and they want their game to live up to those admittedly high expectations from both RPG'ers and action-oriented gamers, as well as making a fitting and epic end to a trilogy that is unique to the person that plays it. If they manage to pull it off, it damn well should be considered their greatest game.

Let the internet be the judge of that, Bioware.

I was really disappointed in what Dragon Age II turned out to be. I hope that won't happen again. Oh who am I kidding, it totally will!

Looking at what gamers want, in games that arent rpgs, that explains it. I wish they said more about what rpgs they looked at, they didnt mind listing shit like gears and CoD. This just reinforceces my view they are sellouts who are saying they make rpgs, just to hold on to fanboys while still trying to get the CoD gamers. Also its funny they mention assassins creed. Now I know where they got that bloody stupid blade from.

So it wouldnt supris me if the game was shit, removing customisation from my squad is bad, its fucking stupid and lazy. Not a sign of a good dev, sure I can customze shep but last I checked this wasnt a game where I fight alone.

But they wont get it right. Fanobys will still hail it as perfect, but I visit the biowre forum and am creeped out at times given some people on there, when you have people who go into detail about sex with aliens, its likely they will be so creepily obsessie the game will be perfect anyway. Just throw in the usual fanservice BW games have to be on the safe side.
No it wont be darn near perfect, mainly becuase it plays like gearws of war, which isnt a perfect shooter, never mind an rpg.

This guy wwas the awesome button guy from DA2 iirc, thats enough of a reason for me to ignore him.
Your post is a masterpiece dude. I'm not even a big BioWare fan and even I feel outraged and somehow stupider after reading it.

"Sellouts"? Yeah. Totally. How dare they go for wide market appeal? No, it's me who they should please. ME!!!

Your squad customization complaint is just the biggest nitpick I've ever seen. It's not "fucking stupid and lazy". It's something barely anyone wants in the game and something that would take too much time to implement for zero payoff.

Still, you're a pretty good reviewer. Reviewing games that haven't fucking come out yet based on games they used as inspiration - that's skill.

Woah. It's not even that anymore. You can actually see into the future. That's awesome.

Oh I wish you hadn't said that bioware. Leave all that mad dribbling to the experts like Peter Molyneux.

Well the Mass Effect series have been my favorite games from Bioware. So as long as they don't change, or remove a lot of things without adding much (kinda like DA2) then I should really like it.

Im not a big fan of alot of Biowares newer games and Mass Effect I just found overrated and Mass Effect 2 was alot worst for me then then the 1st one due to dumbing down skills and such il be renting ME3 so I can finish the story with my Sheperd tho I just want the experence to be better then 2 atleast and i swear to fucking god I will choke a puppy if there is probing I wanted to smash my head from that....

The feeling for how a game can feel bland depending on the person I enjoyed the enterity of KOTOR and wish it could be rereleased on 360 with alot of its bugs and glitches fixed.

"What they like about Gears of War, Assassin's Creed, Halo, Call of Duty and lots of RPG games, too ... We've looked at all these games to see what's resonating and what's not."

So basically they've looked at some of the best selling games over the last decade and gone "I KNOW, WE'LL COPY THESE!!! GENIUUUUUUS"

Fucking typical.

I think this means that hardcore RPG fans are going to hate it. That's fine with me, though. I'm going to enjoy the hell out of myself.

Is EA's little puppet talking again? That's adorable. Well as long as "something awesome" happens every time I press a button (Because that's the new Bioware way right?) then this game should be just as good as the last game they made. . . .

Also, people really need to learn the difference between something they don't like, and something that is actually bad.
Yeah, I can agree with that. I don't like the Mass Effect series as much as alot of people do but I realize that a game that doesn't appeal to me isn't objectively bad.

Edit: Whoops, kind of a bad typo there.

Well even though Mass Effect 2 had an amazing story which was brilliantly told. The gameplay totally sucked, just an endless stream of cover based shooting, each encounter bloody obvious as the cover in the distance gave the fight away, The total lack of customization for the characters was pathetic.
I really hope ME3 is a better game but after dragon age 2 i doubt it, the story will be awesome and that's at least something to look forward to.

If this were any other developer, I wouldn't believe this.
What if Valve said it?
I'm not the biggest fan of Valve's games, but I'm going to have to amend what I said. Valve has never been dishonest.

Yeah becuas I was totally wrong when I didnt pre order DA2 thinking would be shit. Its impossible to make a decision before buying tha game... Oh wait its not.
I loved Dragon Age 2.

Again with the 'I don't like it'/'It's bad' confusion.

They've obviously forgotten all about Baldur's Gate.

And Jade Empire.

[edit]And Planescape: Torment.[/edit]

And (probably) Mass Effect 1

And KotOR.

And DA:O.

Wow great start to a post.
Well, it surely was more coherent than the entirety of yours, good sir.

Yes they are, last I checked mass effect was an rpg. CoD has enough people catering to it. But hey if you dont mind evry company copying activision ,making the same shit every yeaar aslong as it gets them money thats fine. But I dont enjoy games that all mimic the dull gears/CoD gameplay. yes Bioware are sellouts. Gars is popular, make mass effect 2 like gears, mass effect is popular make DA2 lke mass effect 2. Its nice to see people who want the same shit again and again, becuase we havent got enough shitty cover shooters already.
"Gears/CoD gameplay"? So is it Gears gameplay or CoD gameplay? Or does it mimic both?

Here's a hint - learning from what was popular and what wasn't is what companies do. You don't like it? Too bad.

this isnt my name said:
Uh huh, it seems lazy to me, or it just a way to sell weapon packs and alternate apearance dlc, which just makes them look greedy and lazy. You may call it nitpicking, but customisation is good for rpgs, and it was lacking in mass effect 2 squadmates.
That's like saying that customization was lacking in the menus. You desperately want to play dress-up in your game? I recommend The Sims.

Yeah becuas I was totally wrong when I didnt pre order DA2 thinking would be shit. Its impossible to make a decision before buying tha game... Oh wait its not.
That surely disproves the point I had about you making categorical statements about a game that you haven't tried - oh wait, it doesn't.

For the record, did not play DA2. My friends did, they said it was far from "shit" and I trust their opinion more than yours.

And yes I can make decisisn based on gameplay I have seen and the fact they are looking at assasins creed and CoD when making an rpg. Your sacrasm makes me think your just a twat, im well aware im beinga hypocrite by insulting you for that, but I dont give a shit about that.
Surely, sarcasm is only used by twats. Unlike generalizations, which are largely in use by "non-twats".

this isnt my name said:
If by future you mean gameplay n youtube, then correct, I can see that mas effect 3 looks like a shitty gears clone, with a new coat of paint. Oh and dont forget the omniblade when you press the awesome button. They also added a new feature grenades, and by new they mean "we took it out, now put it back, its new".
Have you even played Gears of War? Is every Third Person Shooter a Gears clone?

I just... I... what are you ON about?!

this isnt my name said:
You say you dont care about bioware, but you sem like a biodrne to me.
Oh no. I seem like a "biodrne" to you? Whatever shall I do. Clearly I need to do some soul-searching. Excuse me.

Oh shit, that was more sarcasm. Guess that makes me twice the twat.
