That's not true at all. I only played a few matches of multiplayer before I beat the campaign, and I finished with excess of what I needed to get all the options at the end.
Well, to get that scene at the end, you need 5000 EMS. Without multiplayer there's only about 7500-7700 resources that you can attain in a playthrough. In order to hit 5000 EMS, your galactic readiness will have to be 67-68%. For someone will who cannot play Online, it will be impossible for them to even get over 4000 EMS as 50% of 7700 is 3850 (so close!).
So yeah, a day of multiplayer will solve the issue but if someone cannot access the multiplayer, they are screwed.
Look, guys...even if the general concepts underlying this weren't absurd, and even if Bioware hadn't already categorically denied it, and even if the source of it wasn't the always trustworthy 4Chan...
There's no way they would release a new game set in the Mass Effect universe under the name "Mass Shift". That's not how branding works. They've invested a lot of years and a lot of money in that brand. It has market recognition. "Mass Shift" could be an entirely unrelated franchise. It would be like Square Enix releasing a new Final Fantasy game and calling it "Final Adventure", or a new Modern Warfare game being released as "Modern Attack". It makes absolutely zero sense, from a business perspective, and the guys in suits would never allow it.

Problems with this (which make me think it's false):
1) DLC changed because of cookies. Really? Not likely. Also, if Katsumi did look like someone's sister, then... wow, strange makeup decisions.
2) Prothean planet on the edge of Sol. Um what?!
Sol either refers to the Sol system or Sol, the star. Neither is possible.
Sol system - the edge of the Sol system is where Pluto is. It's cold out there. No planet would have plants, much less jungles.
Sol the star - so there's an extra planet in the solar system that we didn't notice? Next to Sol - so closer in that Mercury? With plants?! Again, no, not happening.

Shepard only has a body in the Destruction ending. In that ending, there wouldn't be any Reaper for her to fly around. Logical inconsistency.
I'm sorry, but if I was a "ex-employee of Bioware" who "worked for BioWare for over 8 years", I could probably pick and choose where I wanted to "leak" my information, and the last damn place I would choose to do so would be 4chan if I wanted to be taken seriously.

There are worse fates than death. Like witnessing Mass Effect 3 disappointing ending after hundreds of hours of gameplay and more than a dozen Shepards ready to embark on an adventure that will ultimately result in the same shitty ending.
How is it an obviously fake rumor created by 4chan automatically becomes Bioware, jerking peoples chains? Ah well, got to love those rampant haters.
Hopefully we will see some post ME3 DLC eventually, and one that doesn't change the endings just picks up after them like this. I loved the endings as they stand but wouldn't mind seeing some of the lose threads wrapped up.
