You ever get the urge to play a game you really wouldn't want to play under any other circumstances?

For example, I've felt strangely drawn towards Final Fantasy X-2 over the last couple of days. I don't get it. I didn't really like FFX, or any other Final Fantasy game since VII (and even that one didn't really push my RPG buttons in the way Chrono Trigger did).

Occasionally I'll get the urge to play the original NES Final Fantasy as well, even though that game had virtually no story (just cart your four jerks around, fighting random battles and doing fetch quests), a clunky, unintuitive combat system, and is otherwise extremely drab and confusing.

Boy, get someone to slap some sense into you.

You do NOT want to play FFX-2. What if your parents catch you playing it? They'll ask you why you're 'playing' porn.

I kid. Don't hit me. I don't like being hit.

Just two days ago, I had a sudden urge to play GTA4 for no apparent reason.

Unfortunately I couldn't find it (it was borrowed anyway) but I DID find my lost copy of Condemned 2 (Which I loved, I don't care what anyone says) so it was just as good.

Last week I had a massive craving for BioShock 2 due to the BioShock Infinite Trailer, so much that I pirated it (please don't ban me) only to find my comp couldn't run it, being the old piece of junk that it is, and I had no money for rentals.

Bought Morrowind off of Steam, just in case I get that occasional craving.

Grab DOSBox, and some old DOS games. Commander Keen would be a good choice.

I'm currently really craving Age of Empires 2. I'm not quite sure why. Perhaps a subconscious desire to return to a happier time...

Bought the disc. Played it or 10 minutes and stopped because I couldn't juggle that along with the other games I was playing. But it's there if I have the craving.

The urge to scour the map clean of Zerg every time I play a Starcraft II mission that involves them. Even blew up those nearly inaccessible side bases on Echoes of the Future.

Lately, I've sort of wanted to play Pokemon.
I even had the urge to try that Mystery Dungeon nonsense.
It's nostalgic, in a way, but seriously, fuck having like 39513846135 new Pokemon and this double-battle crap.
I'll stick with one-on-one in Silver or Gold, thank you very much.

Come to think of it, this also happens to me with fighting games. I even bought Arcana Heart a while ago, but I barely took it out of the shrink wrap.
