Have you ever been in a situation where someone just started laughing hysterically and you had no idea why? Not even a cell phone or friend around to explain it, just flat out weird hysterical laughter?

I was at the lockers at the pool, leaving after my swim when the guy packing a locker next to me just started laughing. No phone, no-one else around and it had been pretty much silent prior to it. Maybe he was channeling the Joker?

What are your stories?

Yeah, I was usually the one laughing. The most memorable one was when I just started up during class one day, never figured out why and I was never able to explain it. I went on for a good 5 minutes and was seriously hurting afterwards. The dude behind me was seriously weirded out. My teacher's response? "Are you okay? Right, moving on now."

Still don't know why it happened, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I do this when I'm bored. I just remember something extremely funny to entertain myself and off I go.

I do this, no not necessarily bursting out into laughter so much as randomly smiling or chuckling. Usually just thinking about something funny that wouldn't really be able to explain, kind of like a Scrubs mental fantasy moment.

i used to do this as a kid no matter how hard i fought it... took me a long time to realize the reason i broke into uncontrolable laughter every time i was getting yelled at for something i did wrong was due to the vein that would throb in my step-father's forhead

There are a couple of memories that get me into mad laughter and it really weirds people out; I don't blame them; I occasionally sound like some kind of evil scientist when it happens. Other than that, I don't think I've ever spontaneously started laughing before.
[small] That I remember anyway -.- As for me, its 8am over here, so time to get up :p[/small]

I usually am the one laughing. Most of the time, other people start laughing at me laughing and you suddenly see a group of four or five giggling like maniacs for no reason at all.

I imagine it must look disturbing. Although channelling the Joker sounds awesome.

I do that. Usually when grappling with my brother.

It prompts him to hit me more.

And that just makes me laugh more.

Me and my friend used to do this a lot. Sometimes it wasn't exactly the most productive thing.

At one point, we were recording the voice over for some project we were doing, and we were beset with random giggling. It was innocuous at first, but it got worse and worse, until eventually, halfway through what must have been the 20th take on the same couple of lines, we just gave up and I recall eventually falling to the floor in these weird-ass hysterics.

We totally pressed save on that one, and it was the best bloopers section ever.

Laughing is my default response to everything. So yes, I do this quite often. My friends/family/co-worker have learned to just roll with it.

My friends have been saying things that sound dirty, so I would just start laughing really loud then they would finally catch on.

Sometimes i'll be in bed and think of a funny picture or something, i just laugh for ages while looking at the roof... if i was in an asylum they would knock me out i think.

I knew a guy who constantly was giggling to himself, sounding like Ior wailing from death.
Always with a grin, too. But than again, he had the same weird syndrome I do.

I just don't let people know in public how crazy I am

It's been too long since I've had such an insane laughing spree. It's crazy, but it's so freakin' fun, I never feel so relaxed as after a laughing spree. My family usually has to ruin it though by acting all bitchy about it.

Yesterday I had an explainable laughing spree though. Looked at a topic here about Moonbase Alpha, and saw this:
It's so fail, it's so lame, it shouldn't be funny, but tears were rolling down my cheeks from pure, insane laughter. My throat was hurting big time, but I just couldn't stop. NASA really overestimated the internet's population. uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

well i have a moment when i was laughing hysterically for no reason and i had no idea why.

It was when i had a really and I mean REALLY bad crick in my neck and decided to take some Advil or Tylenol i don't know i cant remember which one but after i took some i got a shot of blinding pain in my neck and all i could do was laugh for a good while (until i was out of breath) and the whole time i was asking myself "WHY AM I LAUGHING!? WHY!? ITS ONLY MAKING IT WORSE!!!" ... yeah to this day i have no idea what happened there.
