Anyone heading out this Black Friday or purposely avoiding it? Last year I picked up an ABBA CD for roughly $3. I always go out every year just for the sake of seeing all the madness.

I avoid it. I mean, I still go out that day, but not until much later in the afternoon, and never for anything specific.

I enjoy the chaos. I'll enjoy it even more, since I won't have to work during the madness. Granted, that is a blessing and a curse, but I'll take the enjoyment I can from it.

Generally, I avoid Black Friday at all costs. I don't like being killed over a DVD player, thank you very much. However, working in retail, that isn't an option. I work at the Claire's in Texas in the South Plains Mall, and for some bizarre reason, the mall is going to be opening at midnight; Midnight Madness as their calling it. Lucky me, I get to be at work from 11:30 that night to 8:00 in the morning. Bleh.

I keep thinking Black Friday is some memorial day for a war or something. I mean it does have a pretty... ominous name.
If you think the name is inappropriately ominous, you have probably never worked in retail :)

Never mind avoiding black friday, I avoid physical stores for Christmas shopping almost ENTIRELY. I order everything I can online, then go with my dad and brother to a mall for an hour, a few weeks before Christmas, run in and out and call it a holiday. I don't touch Black Friday with a 10 foot pole.

I also work in the produce department of a grocery store, so Thanksgiving is plenty ominois.

In my honest opinion there really is no point to go out anymore for black friday, more and more places are just realizing that doing it online is less of a hassle.

If I have to work I can't really avoid it but I try to avoid the madness. The few times that I have gone out though, it was long after stores opened so I missed good trampling action. Also, the stores still had a lot of stuff I would have bought if I had more money at the time. I don't think I work this Friday...but I do work Thursday so good for me (or rather, my wallet)

I haven't gone in a 2 years I think, so I'm really looking forward to the deals I can get. :)

Black Friday is going to be the bane of my existence... Normally I would sit it out but no, I'm stuck working for Target so guess what I have to put up with all that day?

I'm going to be at the back end of it pushing carts...at peak hours...with three hours of backlog because the scheduler is a derp. Likeliness of insanity is 50239458645%

I work for Best Buy. I know your pain. And your hate.

I get the awesome shift of 9 Thanksgiving evening until 3 Black Friday afternoon. I want to bring a cattle prod to get people to leave me alone and get out of my way.

My mother, aunt Jamie and I are going to Wal-Mart around Midnight.

I have to make sure my mom doesn't get trampled, you know.
