The Dexter books are good, third one not so much.
you probly started to read the books after the series, if you read the series and not watched the show, the third one makes a lot of sense and will actually fall in line

as for black humour

Airplane
Airplane 2
Spy Hard
Naked Gun Series

Dellamore Dellamorte, or Cemetery Man, depending on where you live. Brilliant, gory, and hilarious.

Suicide Kings [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780536/] is pretty good too, if you can count that as 'dark comedy'.

Chris Morris' Nathan Barley [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Jam]

Also as mentioned before, The League of Gentleman and Psychoville are really good too.

May I suggest Cable Guy? Jim Carreys in it, but it's still not as slapstick as the trailers tries to tell you.
What are you talking about. And I opt for the film Excalibur that was hilarious.

You could try Dead Snow http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1278340/
Its basically about Nazi Zombies, i found it hilarious :)
I didnt watch this movie because there was another nazi zombie movie called The Bunker. Which was quite comical and pretty dark. But didnt give me enough reason to try Dead Snow.

If you want black/dark comedies then try things like Screenwipe and League of Gentlemen.

If you want black/dark comedians try Frankie Boyle.

Well, Sweeney Todd is an obvious choice, as is a lot of Tim Burton's other stuff.

Guy Ritchie movies are a good choice too, as they often put violence and warped British humor together very well.

Agreed, my favorite bit from the series is in the second book Dearly Devoted Dexter, where they refer to a shady serial mutilator as "Dr Danco" after an kitchen utensil which cuts up vegetables. Then Dexter refers to these victims, who have had their arms, legs, eyelids, tongue, etc. removed but are still alive, as "yodeling potatoes".

I'm sure some of them have been mentioned but:

-Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
-Harold and Maude
-Bad Santa
-Raising Arizona
-MASH
-Nurse Betty (not sure how much this one counts as dark, but it does have its moments)
-Fargo
-Kind Hearts and Coronets

Most of the Coen Brother's movies have a healthy undercurrent of dark humor to them, now that I think about it.
