Things I saw in the first week of release:
- Peni lots and lots of peni (one with freaking veins)
- a dinosaur ass raping a gorilla
- two towers an explosion and a plane
- a nazi monkey being hung from a tree
- an animal sex orgy

It's nice that they have so much customisation but when you have a community like that the idea is just slandered instantly.

I don't mind inventive ones such as the 4chan smiley, a really thick atom and mobster scenes.

And I'll admit I'm uninventive with mine - Scottish flag with the lion rampart in yellow on it

I don't think Treyarch was thinking too hard on this one.

The same thing happened with Forza 2. Make a picture editor and people will abuse it.

Why is there no report button? Can't the Emblem be pictured next to a gamertag in the lobby along with a report button? Of course this will be abused too, just like vote to kick buttons or vote to skip buttons, but it's a start.

Even better: Make an approval process. A player makes their own custom emblem, then hits 'submit' and it gets sent to a moderator team of some sort for approval. Until your custom emblem is approved, use a preset one or none at all.

Die Hard 3, that is. :)

And yes, I think Treyarch shouldnt have given the players this option. When they ban swastikas, they will also have to ban KKK symbols and such.

Their own fault, bungie made it more boring but at least controlable.

if you're going to ban the swastika, it doesn't make any sense not to ban other racist iconography.

So I imagine they'll be banned before long.

And maybe people should stop whining about it. Also, if the emblem system was a stupid idea, then having avatars on a forum would also be a stupid idea. The only difference is that forums are actually regulated and Black Ops has an unregulated mainstream audience. Suck it up or stop playing altogether.

Hows this, look at 3 full lobbies, now check how many of them have: Nazi stuff, Sexual pictures, or racists picture. $10 says that there where at least 19 people within 3 lobbies of 20 people.

They actually included a report system for just such thing. It´s not Treyarch fault most people when anonym are dicks. I would say it´s actually how a person behaves when anonym that describes them the best.

[W]hen you take advantage of your rights to express yourself, then you do it by actually expressing something.
Sorry, I didn't know that they had individuals like yourself on the internet defining and policing what is and isn?t loaded with meaning.

Each of these ?children?, and I have no idea why we are assuming they are children, are expressing something, whether you constitute meaning to it or not. Firstly, in showing that they have the right to say or do whatever they please. Of course, this first point only applies if it isn?t hurting another, and isn?t in private domain, which is a slightly different topic. And secondly, ever supposed that in going against the grain, in presenting offensive material they aren?t merely attempting to be a dick? I fully understand that the majority are only trying to piss someone off, or cause trouble, which inherently makes the act ?wrong?, unless of course this upsetting is for a reason. Maybe one of them feels a need to bring attention to out-dated conservative attitudes held by the western world towards a symbol that ultimately should be stripped of its negative ideological implications and returned and re-appropriated into its original use.

Of course, in tilting the swastika, and setting it within a white circle on red background, your are potentially undermining such a focus, but in the end, who are you to say what and when freedom of speech manifests itself.

And please note, if you find the image offensive, again, that is a different argument entirely. I dislike your attempts to define when and where someone is allowed to express themselves.
