It would be interesting if they continued it but I don't know what they would do with it.

Do Treyarch and Infinity Wards COD worlds coexist? or are they alternate universe? Anyone know?
We didn't know what they could do with a sequel to MW but they did...

I just hope the Back Ops sequel far surpasses it

Well, characters from CoD and UO appear in CoD 3, Gerald Ingram and James Doyle, so I think they take place in the same universe.
Hm... Well do any of those characters appear in WaW?
No, but they wouldn't have any reason to. They're both British and there's no British in WaW.

I'm sure Reznov appeared in 3...

Could be wrong though

It cannot be done. If you remember, the other day a person "cracked the code" for Black Ops. The code hinted that Reznov may not be dead. If that is the case, and what you suggest is true, then Reznov would have to show up in the game as well. There is no game that could hold Price, Soap, Mason, Hudson, Weaver, Nikoli, and Reznov. The world would simply explode from that amount of awesome.

I would totally love to play said game though. Yes please. Although the sequel I really want is a full-blown Nazi Zombie game.
To be fair, if it's set in 1978 I highly doubt Soap would be a part of it. He was a fresh recruit to the SAS in the first MW as I recall it. Price on his first mission?? seems like it might be possible but being set 30 years before MW2 means that Price must've been really young and from what I gather you require a decent amount of experience to get a shot in the SAS. That'd imply that Price was like... 55-60 when MW2 rolls around and that... that just doesn't seem plausible.

I wouldn't expect a sequel on a premise as small as that.
I would think it would be more DLC.

Honestly though, I finished the single player and I just... eugh it sucked.
The seizurific scenes between moments, the complete disjointedness between missions, the utter confusion on wtf is going on and worst of all, the amounts of times they gave you 'control' and took it away. (For example walking with your gun in your hands, but you can't Aim down the sights just to see what it looks like, or just fail a mission for fun or whatever.) Worst of all, the amount of pointless QTE's! "Mash X to move a bookshelf" "instead of a climactic battle between you and the main bad guy, you watch as your character punches him, and then alternate L1 and R1 to drown the guy" "Hey... that moment in MW1 where you had the gun and shot the bad guy at the very end was cinematic, lets do that 3-4 times, but lets mix it up, sometimes the gun has no bullets! Or you get stopped before you can do anything!"

For christ sake that annoyed the crap out of me. The multiplayer still feels worse then MW2's as well.

Call me crazy, but there is a chance that it could be Price's dad.
Given there was a Price in the earlier call of duty games during WW2, it may be possible that the 'Price' that may or may not appear is Price's dad and the price we know in the modern warfare games is the son.

In summary, WW2 Price - Cold War Price - Modern price or something like that.

But that's just me, none the less I'm interested in seeing how things will turn out.

My two cents on the matter for now, till later.

I hope there is a sequel.
Also, I've heard speculation that the letter on the computer from 'X', is from Frank Woods.
Rumour has it he survived. Obviously no concrete evidence, it's all speculation.
I hope he survives though. Maybe he rolled away after jumping with the Russian out of the window?

Also, did you see the code that guy cracked? Was in the News Room yesterday. Go look it up, it's awesome.
It practically says Reznov is alive. It actually says 'REZNOV IS DEAD OR IS HE?', but why would they say that if he was, in fact, dead? It basically says he is alive.

So, if speculation is right, Woods, Reznov, and the rest of team awesome are alive.
[small] That's what I call them. Because they are awesome.[/small]

And if this 'Jonathon' is Price, this just leads for even more awesome.
And the possibility of him being an enemy makes the story even more intriguing to me already...

A lot of people keep saying Woods is alive. I don't see how that is possible, unless I missed something. He did, after all, jump out of a window with half a dozen grenades about to blow up. Could you explain it for me?

Don't forget Woods! Since he actually survived.

If you collect some of the intel it says he is and that he is still in vietnam I believe

-In the computer accessible from the game's main menu there is a message to Mason from an individual who goes by the name of "X." It is dated July 4, 1978 and states that Woods is alive and the sole remaining American at the Hanoi Hilton, North Vietnam's largest POW camp. This may hint at a mission to rescue Woods in a sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops, or a DLC.

I frequented the same, or similar, website, actually! Maybe it's rubbing off on me...
halo.bungie.org?
That is exactly the website I'm referring to! Yes, the URL may be simple to remember, but I could not find it for the life of me. :(

I noticed this too when reading the intel reports (it's such a nice touch that the intel actually does something in this game!).

I think that it would be cool to address it via DLC. I'd love for Treyarch to release a pack that consists of a few more single player missions as opposed to just new maps.

I doubt that Soap will be meeting up with Mason and co, though. They'd be in their late 50s/60s during the events of Modern Warfare 2.

as much as i hope this happens...that would mean price would have to be at least 45 which is possible i guess but not the only reason it cant happen- IW and treyarch games do not use the other studios characters, but maybe a coexist is possible.

I dont know, its highly unlikely unless the studios have a miraculous agreement.

i think that if they did ever try to make a black ops 2 well im sure that there have to take place in the future 2200 and have a new segment of wepaons such as lazers, light saber type of knifes, and have a little bit of a fast plase plot

I never honestly expected Soap to make an appearance in this hypothetical mission. I'm just aware that Price was involved in a mission with Captain MacMillan in approximately 1996, so there's no reason that he could not have also been involved in one in 1978; granted, he mentions that he was "only a lieutenant [in 1996]". Maybe South Africa was his first mission in the SAS (proving his merit by eliminating very low priority targets), and he'd been working his way up to Zakhaev (a fairly high-priority target) since then.

The time "One Shot, One Kill" takes place during, though, does punch a few holes in my theory. But that's why we call it a theory!
