Is it just me that seemed to notice the so called "twist" in Black Ops from a mile off. I mean, they seemed to try their best to hide the fact that the Russian wasn't actually real, but failed at being sutle about it.

I knew that he guy wasn't real the first time I building with him as Woods said "What have you been doing, Mason?" Sutlety does not seem to work well in many games that include the words "Call of Duty" as many 'twists' seem to be seen way before they actually happen.

So, like I said, is it just me that noticed it?

I honestly didn't notice.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I honestly thought Reznov was with me the whole time.

I didn't think he wasn't real, I just was curious what the hell he was doing in some of the missions.

The biggest give away was that no one else took notice of him and he never actually killed anyone, bar two -- maybe only one if you dont count "him" killing the scientist (although by that logic he didnt kill the Viet Cong that attacked him in the rat tunnels) -- people.

I kind of wanted Reznov to be real, because I fucking loved him. It was kind of weird having him show up literally everywhere. I mean, I popped when I found out he was the informant, but again thats juts because I love Reznov. It did kind of get a bit obvious toward the end alright. With the little reveal and video bit at the end being whole slap on the back of the head for you. It gets a lot more obvious as it goes on.

Altogether I thought it was an awesome story telling device than worked perfect in the game. I loved the campaign, personally. Finished it on normal last night and it is probably my fav cod campaign so far. But a repeat play through will put it properly in line. I hope it gets better the harder it gets like Halo Reach on Legendary, but time will tell.

I was a little too focused on shooting people and seeing said shot people blow up before my eyes, probably why i found the plot twist, so out of nowhere.

Kinda reminded me of fight club. I was pretty sure I saw it early on, but dismissed it for being too dumb a twist. Only Fight Club did it well. I liked Reznov though.

I like how Reznov and Dimitri are returning characters.

Frankly, I thought he was real. Though I have to say that having him popping up everywhere began to seem odd to me later, but I never questioned his realness. So, after all I think this was a great twist.

He was real when you were escaping the jail. How could he have driven the truck if he wasn't?

After that he's not real. I think I remember someone saying that Reznov died after helping you escape.

I had noticed the absurdity of his repeated appearances, but I didn't really think of the twist, mainly because it felt out of place.

I had some suspicions ever since you "reunited" with Reznov and then I noticed that he never actually did anything as far as killing enemies so by that point I was like yeah he's fake.

Actually, I kept an eye on him during the mission where Woods dies and Reznov was in fact killing people just like the other armed POWs. By that point, I had already figured out that Reznov was an illusion but I thought that it was fine that he was able to actually kill enemy soldiers due to the fact that we were seeing things from Mason's perspective. In Mason's mind, he was there fighting like everyone else so it makes sense.

I hear you. When you were in the rat tunnels and Reznov jumps down and Mason's all "I was going to shoot you" and the solider goes "What the fuck is wrong with you?" Treyarch may as well have held up a sign that says WE LIKED FIGHT CLUB A LOT GUYS DID YOU KNOW THAT?

And then immediately afterwards Hudson is all bent out of shape everytime Mason brings up Reznov. For Christ's sake, don't broadcast (lol pun) your plot twists half the game in advance. And the "Oswald cover blown" made me guess that I had killed the President before Dragonvich called me out for it.

Stupid plot, amazing gameplay.

No I mean that every time Viktor and I were in a firefight I had to kill everyone. He just stood there and fired random shots constantly running back and forth into enemy fire. Thank god he was never needed for an escort mission else he would purposefully kill himself.

I didn't realize at all until the game told me. I actually thought it was a pretty clever plot twist, too...

I was messing with my flashlight at the time, so I thought he was just reacting to my flickering of the light. Otherwise, I may have noticed earlier.
