...why?

Why would it ever require a sequel?
Because the original series from the Book had already one YEARS ago.

Also the Teaser artwork of the movie sequel remind me the game CYPHER: Cyberpunk Text Adventure:

Fury Road: Overrated and sucks my ass. How this movie got nominated for Best Picture I will never know.
I'm gonna ignore Force Awakens because I don't care enough to defend it. Disney blew a big opportunity by playing it as safe as they could.

But why do you think Fury Road sucks ass?
...Where to begin and I am not holding back.

1. I am those people that says "For a Mad Max movie, its really not about Max now is it?" I hate the charcater of Furiosa, I hate the "themes and messages" of the movie, its pretty much the most blatent Femenist movie ever made, where the main male charcater is shoved off the wayside to shine the spotlight on this female charcater. And remember those psychedelic visions Max had with a little girl whose head turns into a skull? Pointless in the long run. And if it is invoking memories of past movies it fails to convey it to people who never watch the past movies. And it does not help the first part of the movie has Max tied to a fuckin Death Car doing nothing. I am sorry but Furiosa and the Damsals she is saving really brought this movie down for me, they were just...I don't care for these people I came to see a movie about Max and he is silent, absolutely silent. Mel Gibson probably had more personality as Max than this guy, especially more to say. This is the worst example of a "femenist" movie ever, The Director should have just made this movie completely original and not have Mad Max at all.

2. The acting was surprisingly bland, none of the actors I felt engaged and immersed with, because our main charcaters are boring. And the villains barely got any screentime and chacrater development.

3. The action was surprisingly bloodless, yes there was on occasion some gore but it was very unnoticeable, I was expecting Mortal Kombat level of blood and gore. And this movie is Rated R.

4. I truly think this movie got all the love it did because "IT USES PRACTICAL EFFECTS AT LAST IN THIS ERA OF CGI SPECIAL EFFECT DOMINANCE" to which I say, Big Woop wanna fight about it ya anti CGI pratical effects Snobs, this movie would be no different if it was all CGI, and it does not help when there are clear CGI effects in this movie anyway like the Sandstorm and some of the destruction effects.

Honestly the flaws this movie invokes is so blatently obvious that I am just shocked its even getting these accolodes at all.

1. Those memories gave us insight into Max's psyche, why he is the way he is. This is a reboot. It needs to establish who he is, so that when we see his redemption later it's more meaningful. It gives new and old viewers just enough information. The movie is still about him. I liked Furiosa and didn't mind the feminist undertones at all. The birth givers were a good plot device in the modern medieval setting and the theme was done tastefully.

2. The acting was fine.

3. Never noticed that. I thought it was fine.

4. It blended CG and practical effects wonderfully.
1. I am sorry but Max was nothing to this movie at all reboot or not, you could remove Max entirely and it would have been more or less the same movie.

2. Did not win any academy award for best actors/actress nor was it even nominated for it ;P

3. But it would have been so much better as a gore fest.

4. Eh the Special Effects looks like every other movie with special effects. I am just saying that these days Special Effects are not anything special anymore I mean after Star Wars and the other milestones by Industrial Light and Magic and WETA Digital the bar has reached the ceiling.

I mean seriously when I came out of the theater I came out like "eh that was a big pile of nothing" like it was just another action show.

Samtemdo, you have horrible taste in everything. It never ceases to amaze me. I will agree that Tom Hardy, while he did a good job portraying Max as feral, doesn't have an ounce of the charisma Mel Gibson has. Gibson in his prime would have the screen presence needed to carry such a minimalist role.

How do I know that last point? Road Warrior sidelines Max in much the same way. 16 lines. That's how many lines Max speaks in Road Warrior. 16. Literally. So this idea that George Miller kowtowed to political correctness and allowed Max to be squeezed out of his movie to make room for feminist propoganda, rather than following a stylistic conceit of Max stumbling into other people's stories from the previous films, is horseshit. This may shock you, but some artists (men even) are interested in women as characters without outside influence and want to tell their stories without it being virtue signaling. Crazy!

ON-TOPIC:
The director has a strong track record, so cautious optimism.

Um...yeah, no, we did not need this.

Blade Runner was set up to be self-contained, a sequel is going to be awkward at best, and sequels aren't the best recently.
It's Ridley Scott. He absolutely will not stop until he's damaged his reputation beyond all possible repair.

Have I not showcased my love of quality crime/mafia movies like anything with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino awhile ago?

Don't say that I have shit taste in movie because of movies that happen to release this year and the last

On topic I find Blade Runner overrated. Robocop 1 is the superior movie compared to Blade Runner.

Because Max was so loquacious before...

I almost have the suspicion that you've never actually seen a Mad Max movie, and that I shouldn't take your opinion too seriously. Everything is overrated except Warcraft and Birdemic, I guess.

Fury Road - Better than the old.
Prometheus - Best one since Aliens.
The Force Awakens - Alright. Disappointing, but not bad.
Jurassic World and Terminator: Genisys - Didn't care to watch them. I thought they looked bad the moment I saw them.
Fury Road - Ditto.
Prometheus - Hah, sure, if you can appreciate unitentional comedy.
TFA - yeah, a bit irritating in the rip offreferences and fanservice department, but overall can't tell i didn't have fun.
Last two movies - haven't watched them either.

On the one hand, The Martian was good, on the other Prometheus was a laughing stock. On the one hand, i quite liked the Kingdom of Heaven, on the other, Robin Hood bored me to tears...[/quote]

Robin Hood at least had this guy:

Cast that actor as tryannical king again in a better movie and it would have been golden.

Outside of the horror genre (the slasher flicks in particular), most R-rated movies don't have Mortal Kombat levels of blood and gore. In fact, compared to the 'Saw' and 'Final Destination' franchises, some of the greatest action movies are downright sterile when it comes to bloodshed.

It seems up your alley based on prior statements

And have I not say recently that Warcraft the movie is flawed as fuck and that I have a better vision for a Warcraft movie?
What you did was defend the movie, which would be fine, except that you later admitted to lying to everyone about your opinion so that they would see the movie and it would get a sequel. That's way worse then just liking the movie.

Yes I have not seen Mad Max's prior films, but that does not make my opinion of Fury Road which I did watch any less valid.
You're complaining about how a character who barely talks barely talks. The rest of your post is about how you hate feminism and good special affects.

And all you showed is one example.
How many examples would you like? I can't post the entire film. Go watch them for yourself.

Honestly I feel I have to showcase every movie I like to everyone just so they can know I don't think everything is overrated.
Then stop complaining about how everything is overrated. More importantly, stop complaining about how Citizen Kaine is overrated and Leprechaun in Space is the greatest film of all time.

1. Birdemic is flith, absolute cinematic filth and derseves to be considered the worse movie ever.

2. Because I really really wanted a Lich King sequal, even if I have to put up with 2 bad movies to get to that one good one.

3. this one I will PM you.

4. I don't know who to believe, you say Gibson Max has no personality and chatty, Dazzle Novak says otherwise. Does Netflix have all the movie yet?

5. I like Citzen Kane and have watched it in its entirety and I never even heard of Leprechauns in Space.

Oh god, I just saw it... I just saw this movie yesterday. I had one of those rare moments where I decided to go against my better judgement and just take a chance, and... so this is what it looks like when you give a bunch of cosplayers 200 million dollars. And the dude who plays the human male lead just... ugh, I've seen better acting from Jean-Claude van Damme.

OT: Thankfully I have no real warm feelings toward the original movie. I respect it visually, but it's always bored the ever living crap out of me. I can't say I've ever been able to sit through it without getting lulled to sleep. It'd be cool if it turned out great, but if it doesn't it's no skin off my back.
