I bought the F.E.A.R. bundle (first two games, all DLC for both) on Steam last summer for like $6. Never got around to playing F.E.A.R. 2...

I should really make some time for that before the next big Steam sale where I'll undoubtedly purchase even more games I don't have time to play.

I did really enjoy the first game, though I really have no idea what I personally would categorize it as.

FEAR is really good. The gunplay and AI are still a benchmark for that style of game, as far I'm concerned.

It's a shame, what happened to Monolith. Making licensed XBLA games now. :(

Yeah its part of the reason I chose to let's play it, forces me to play at least 10 minutes of the game a day! Since I far too many games as it is. I think it fits nicely under an Action/horror since it has no kind of survival aspect.

Yeah the F.E.A.R. franchise just went downhill and fizzled out; I mean it's still marketable, just not strong any more. Though I still think its gunplay and AI are a testament to what modern pc shooters can be. I'd take F.E.A.R. on PC over practically any shooter in existence.

Still I think Monolith have a future, they've shown us what they can do when making there own engine and games, just if they ever have a good enough project to utilise their skills on.
