When Capcom started the Vs serise it became one of the greatest and most fanilicious creations ever.
the interwebs are now filled to the brim with character combo lists, fan art (mostly scary erotica ), fan ficiton ( see fan art ), save cards with all characters and other data for sale.
one thing that can be contributed to this success is the characters.
Marvel Vs Capcom = awesome, but with Tatsunoko Vs Capcom a few months off id like to know,
in the next game ( you know there's gonna be a few more ),
what Franchises All Stars would you like to see take on Capcom's Fighting beasts.
(any specific characters? dont be shy! you know you wanna see eliwood and hector vs morrigen and jin saotome.......i do.....)

None. The games are meh and it is just a generic idea. Go play a Mugen game. Some of those have hundreds of characters.

Or, we could stop demanding crossovers and let the Arcade Style Fighting Game genre evolve beyond "Hey guyz i wun ce batman fiht scorpon cuz he iz sooooo cool whos wit me?!!!!!" That's basically why we have that piece of trash game MKvDC, the game that allied with TNA to destroy Midway.

We shouldn't be focusing on crossovers. Those are for web comics and online flash games. What we should be doing is demanding more from ASFGs. I went back and played the arcade version of Tekken 2, and it was just as fun as playing Soul Caliber 4. (Note that this is not a case of "O well you played it when you were young so that's why you like it more.) I didn't play Tekken 2 until 2005 when it was included on Tekken 5. It's always the same button masher every time. I respect what DBZ Budukai did. They eventually went to a 3rd person camera view, and had flying and overpowered moves.

So sit around in your crossover wet dream threads. I'm going to go play the last true fighting game series, Tekken.
