I hate hearing peoples interpretations of it.

I didn't read the book about a year and a half ago. I don't kind of think that it was a dream. I'm 100% on that. It isn't hard to be sure.

I reckon in the end the island was a truth and Ted realized he was crazy and took, in a moment of clarity, the frontal lobotomy as penance or to break his cycle.

I'm not confused as to what to think about Shutter Island. The book definitely isn't a good bit different from the movie.
