Might as well link this here:

Sign if you want to show interest. Surprisingly, there are 3000 signatures already, which considering this wasn't on any major gaming site, is pretty good.

In the places I looked most people seem to be disappointed. It's easy to forget because they're very, and at times obnoxiously, vocal, but sub preference describes a small minority of people. Because they tend to be enthusiast by nature, they represent themselves in a higher amount in these enthusiast circles.

Bit of trivia. Companies like Xseed have gone on record saying that games with dubs sell better and recieve better placement in stores compared to sub only games. They've also said that dub only actually sells better than sub only.
Sorry about the late reply, but I'm glad you provided the link to the petition. Even though I'm a dub-only person, I still find it a bit amazing that there more dub fans than sub fans for these type of games.

Also, for those wondering games with dubs selling better, here's the article that a former Xseed employee said about that here.
I think it's obvious games sell better when in the language of the place they're being sold because people tend to have an innate bias towards their native tongue and not everyone is an art connosseur that cares about things such as original intent and keeping cultural content distinct. Especially when the alternative doesn't require you to learn new things about other cultures to fully get everything. Same reason why ramen is more popular than curry rice in the states.

What sheer numbers fail to indicate is the level of knowledge and more importantly devotion to the series each fan has, hence why they cut the dub which would seem counter intuitive based on these data points. To those who didn't play Xblaze in any case lol.

Alas, havin to learng English to play games from a very young age (there were no SUBS, never mind dubs, in the language I grew up speaking lol) and knowing Japanese, I see no reason to boher with dubs any more.
I can sort of agree with that.

It does not affect my (practically guaranteed) purchase at all because I tend to play fighting games for their competitive and gameplay aspects, not for character performances. Despite that, getting the knowledge that BBCF will not be dubbed (at least on release and months after) was pretty disappointing considering it's had a dub for every previous installment. I think a lot of the voice actors fit their characters very well. It's difficult not to imagine Patrick Seitz's as Ragna's voice by now for me. Because of that, I signed the petition when it was first circling around. I hope it succeeds as a measure to convince ArcSys to dub their games again.

All that said, I recognize that I am a small subset of an already small subset of BlazBlue fans who have played all the installments for the story or character performances. Most are not interested in or do not feel they have the ability or time to dedicate to becoming a better BlazBlue or fighting game player.

It was never a big sticking point for Guilty Gear since Xrd was the only game that ever got dubbed anyways. That and it wasn't particularly impressive (not to mention several actors voicing three notable roles at once). But I do miss Sean Connery (J.B. Blanc) Slayer.

Weren't people complaining about English voices in their games? Now we're complaining about them not being in there?

I have never noticed anyone other than me complain about Blazblue's dub.

People tend to complain when the original is not in the game but an irrelevant dub is. BB has always kept the original voices thankfully. I never really cared what dubs do, it's not like they're the actual original game, you know. Though it was annoying how when you play online you hear their choices of voice. That one guy every 50 games who used the dub was super annoying lol. Thankfully that won't be an issue any more.

I hear it whenever a new game is getting localized. People treat every dub like it's the Chaos Wars dub.

Big news! Turns out if you preorder the digital Japanese ps4 version you can download a demo of the game that comes with all the chars outside of Es and Mai, Act 3 Arcade mode and will have training and vs modes and temporary online play for a few days. That's more content than sf5 came out with, but is just the demo.

Cmon thats not hard its more an indication of how poor SFVs launch was rather than a way of showing how great another package is. Good to know though I will take a look and will buy it if its not to much. Will definitely get it at some point regardless but think KOFXIV will be my main 2d fighter for a while but always nice to play some Blazblue now and again.

Now wheres the new Persona Arena game? frikkin loved those.

Persona was abandoned, Jp arcades got a new patch years ago but it never reached consoles. Now with p5 being nearly out, they may revive it in like a year or two.

I know I was a bit gutted it was abandoned and we never got the patch but im not surprised. Hopefully we will see a revival with P5 just like you say. Although if they wanna make a FFVII one as well Ill be all for that.

Kinda wish there were more tournaments of it still that are easily viewable because damn it was quite possibly my favourite fighter to watch, such a fun game and the level even in pools was ridiculous.

Its pretty sad to be honest. "A year or two"? If the patch comes outside Japan at all it'll be nice.

That patch is kinda done I think. what I envisioned was a new persona game with the p5chars. I guess theycould not rebalance the old folks so we would indirectly get the patch but that would mean Japanese arcadegoers would find the game stale so i doubt they'd do it. In a few years that patch will have been out for like half a decade. That's Accent Core levels right there, even that got +R. But yeah, while a few systems of persona weren't to my liking, being able to play as Aigis and Rise is pefection. Though as far as persona goes p5 has all my attention right now.
