Been a while since I've played BB, and this seems like an excellent way to get back into it. So coming to PC sometime Winter 2012 or short after?

Overdrive sounds like X-Factor from MvC. Seems like it could be really cool. I hope Bang's plays his theme when activated :p
Actually, it's more akin to Dissidias EX modes. X-factor just made you stupid strong, it didn't give a character any specific perks to go with that boost.

That has me concerned...some of those ODs (fuck you platinum) are a little crazy. BB did fine without a silly come back mechanic, though I will trust Aksys to balance them well to not be as retarded as X-factor or whatever.

Dunno how I feel about crush triggers, have to see it in action before I can have an opinion on them. Though this mention of crush trigger has pretty much confirmed the ditching of Guard primer system.
That's a good point about the primer system I hadn't considered. Maybe this new mechanic will make for good combo segues depending on when they are available.

So... this is a new fighter that they're gonna remake 10-15 times?

And the FGC will buy each one instead of... oh I don't know... demand a patch.

Yeah because patching a game multiple times does wonders for a game and its community. *looks at SCV*

Actually, ArcSys was pretty good about the console version of the previous game--they patched in the first major revision, and only re-released the second major revision at a discounted price ($40, I believe) a year and a half after the original game's release with all of its DLC (three characters with their own story mode and arcade mode, multiple color palette sets, announcer voices, etc) as well as a brand new character with his own story mode and arcade mode.

The only questionable re-releases were for the later two versions of BB:Continuum Shift PSP and 3DS, I feel.

The community is the problem. They willingly buy a remake of a game that they bought 6 months earlier and they encourage harassing newcomers at arcades and events.

See all that mumbo-jumbo they;'re talking about? They'd rather see me dead than know what it means.

Most BlazBlue releases are at least 12 months apart. No different than many business models other genres utilize.

EDIT -

On consoles:

BB:CT - June 30, 2009
BB:CS - July 27, 2010
BB:CSE - February 14, 2012

The new one will likely come out Spring/Summer of 2013.

I've never played any of the games in the Blazblue series, but boy do I love listening to the music.

WHERE DID NOEL GET THAT RACK!?
For a Japanese animated female character, she's actually got pretty small breasts.

I have a demotivational poster for such an occasion, but it would be considered against forum rules to post...

But yeah...

I know! Arc Systems does have some bitchin music tracks... the main reason I tried this game.

Patch in a new story mode? I've never heard of anyone doing that for free. Unlike other fighters BB's story modes are usually about as long as your average RPG.

No one plays fighters for the story, they play them to make sure newcomers aren't allowed near their "sacred land"

You clearly haven't played BlazBlue then. The game's story mode is basically a full fledged game in itself.

Pretty sure you're thinking of the MOBA genre there. BlazBlue is universally praised for having an intuitive tutorial system. It also has a friendly community for the most part.

Sounds like you got offended by someone. Why you gotta take it out on the rest of the FGC? There's nothing we enjoy more than having new people become a part of the community, but we hate it when they act like conceited brats and complain about everything. I guess it sort of is a sacred land but you're acting like companies patch in new games regularly. It's like telling Activision to "patch" MW2 into COD4, it doesn't make any sense to the companies and it doesn't draw in newer players. Heck sometimes it isn't even a good deal.

Of course I haven't, I'm not allowed to because I'm not good at them. I can't learn the gameplay or the technical stuff cause learning it is some kind of taboo since I haven't played them in the 90s in arcades and stuff.

I never played fighting games in arcades in the 90's (played beat em' ups, too young for fighters back then) and I figured out all the technical stuff on my own or with the help of friends depending on the game. When a game has a competitive scene and a steep learning curve you can't expect to pick up a controller and compete with the best players right off the bat. Practice makes perfect and there are plenty of people willing to help you learn if you ask.
