Well, lets see, I just searched cancel in srk and no results relating to KoF13.
And I doubt it was just a bad day since it was a span a week or so.
Two different results from SRK: "Cancel - cancels are a staple mechanic in virtually every Street Fighter. A cancel is defined by any action that interrupts the normal animation of an attack causing another attack to be initiated. IE, the full animation is canceled out of early, allowing for time for the second attack to combo. The second attack is generally a special or super. Ryu's low medium kick to fireball is a textbook example of this combo."
"Cancel is a general term in any fighting game and can mean many things, depending on the context. Usually it refers to canceling a normal into a special in the Street Fighter series, denoted by "xx" in combo notation. This is also known as a "two in one", as you perform the motion for the special immediately after inputting the normal. An example of a cancel with Ryu is: low forward xx fireball, which means you would input down+forward kick, then immediately move the stick to down forward, forward, and press punch.
Some moves are cancelable and some are not; refer to each individual game for details."
The problem with SRK, and from the sounds of it the problem you run into, is that a given game's section is primarily intended for people who have the fighting genre basics down, and are transitioning into that game, rather than starting with it. It's likely why you had trouble finding cancel in the KOF section, as cancel is a general term for the genre. There's a section just for players who want to learn general basics, but from what I know, it uses Street Fighter as the base, so it can be a bit confusing starting with a different game. It's why I prefer Dustloop, which unfortunately doesn't help you since it focuses primarily on Aksys-developed games, and doesn't have a section for KOF, although it does have a basic glossary explanation for general fighting game terms.
On topic, looking forward to this, as I actually DO play Blazblue for the plot. Seems most of the stages in the trailer are new, which makes sense since all the characters are traveling to Ikaruga, and no longer in Kagutsuchi. The three new characters all look like fun, especially Bullet and Azrael, although the fact that Bullet has a 1080 distortion drive scares me.
