it starts!

Our story starts off in the Soul Society, the home of the Soul Reapers, as well as all souls that die, no matter where you lived, Japan, the United States, anywhere, here is where your soul goes when you die.

"Another one?" a squad 12 Science officer muttered, looking at a folder that another member of his team handed him.

"That is the forth one this week." the woman said as she picked up the rest of her files.

"This is getting bad, we have to do something, Inform Captain-Commander Yamamoto know this, advice him he should send a team to Kamakura Town, Zennosuke Kurumadani cant handle whatever is going on by himself."

It was a quiet day in the Seireitei, it has been a few months after the betrayal of Sosuke Aizen and two other Captains into Huacho Mundo, leaving the Gotei 13 with far less power it had before.

"6th seat Hiburi!" A voice yelled, running up to a man sitting under a tree, a cloth over his face.

"What is it Kiri?" The man asked through the cloth, a little miffed his nap was ruined.

"What do you mean 'what is it?!' Head Captain Yamamoto wants to see you!" She yelled.

"WHAT?!" Hiburi yelled, jumping up, grabbing his nearby sword and throwing it in his belt, running off to the squad 1 office.

"I swear Brad, if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't be able to put on your cloths in the morning." Kiri said, following close behind.

"Kiri, I love you, but nows not the time, I'm going to get my ass handed to me..." Brad said, grabbing a corner to make a quick turn up a flight of stares.

----------------------------------------------------

"Sorry I'm late sir!" Brad said, running into Squad 1's office.

"I've learned from Captain Hitsugaya that your are late more offend then not Hiburi." Yamamoto said, looking at the young man before him.

Brad just rubbed the back of his head as he looked back through the paper doors, seeing Kiri's figure waiting for him.

"I need you to go on a mission to the human world." Yamamoto said, grabbing a file and handing it to Brad as he walked over to his desk.

Brad quickly read over the file.

"Humans with high levels of Reshi are going missing?" He said, flipping over a page.

"Right, and where gathering a multi squad team to figure out what is going on."

"So, who is on my team?" Brad asked, looking up at Yamamoto.

As the Head Captain started to tell him, Brad could only listen, he knew very few of these people, but hoped they would be good enough to watch each other's back.

Now its your turn everyone, its time for your OP posts :D

Sweat ran down Brandons face. He panted as he grabbed the towel fro the stand next to the shredded training dummy. After wiping ff the sweat, he slid his Zanpaktou back in their scabbards. "Enjoy the exercise?" A voice said behind him. The smell of lilies followed the sweet voice. "Hehe, yes I did my sweet." He said with a smile turning to Chihiro Yanname. Soon to be Chihiro Hiroshi if everything went well.

She smiled from the door way where she stood. Her silvery blond hair fell down to her lower back save for the thin tail of hair that fell down her front. "I'm glad because it looks like you've got an assignment 8th seat Hiroshi." she said laughing while using his title. "Hey you know I hate it when I'm refereed to by my seat." He said chuckling as he drew her close. She rested her head on his chest. "I know but I'm worried. People have been disappearing from the human world, I don't want to lose you." She said looking up at him with her Grey eyes.

"Don't worry I'm not going to die any time soon, at least not until your sick of me." He said jokingly. She smacked him playfully on the chest and smiled. "Good, now C'mon you have to get ready." She said as she grabbed him by the hand and led him out of the training room.

Aoshi sat with his back to the wall, the ever present sake dish resting in front of him. As much as I hate habits like this, Captain Kyoraku was definitely right. Taking a long sip, he emptied it before refilling it from his flask. Life is good. "Enjoying some fine, relaxing sake Aoshi?" a voice rang out startling him and causing him to spin around to see the grinning face of his Captain, Shunsui Kyoraku. "It's nice to see that one of my pastimes has spread to my squad. Would you like to share a drink?" Momentarily startled, he nodded his head before pouring a dish for his captain.

Together they sat enjoying fine sake and swapping stories for a good time before Shunsui decided it was time to get down to business, "Aoshi, old man Yama has something he wants to talk to you about. Something important." Aoshi paused for a moment, sake dish at his lips before downing his final gulp. "Thanks for letting me know Captain, enjoy some sake on me will yeah," he said as he left the bar. What could the head captain want with me?

"Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain."

The circle on the ground began to glow before forming into a disc of light, and then began to show points on the surface with numbers.

"Three...five...six...eight...nine...easy enough. North 183, northwest 47, north 72, west 59. Four shunpo, kyokko and move."

KageNeko smiled as he stood up, the glowing disc on the ground fading away. Rubbing his foot over it, he erased the symbol from any recognizable sight so no one would be able to replicate it. Looking around to make sure no one had come up on him, the coast was clear. And he was gone.

First a blur, and then nothing, he disappeared from sight. A moment later he reappeared in the shadow of a building some distance away. Without a moments hesitation, he was gone again, jumping to the next location, then the next. one shunpo away, this was the complicated one.

"Here goes" he said under his breath and vanished in a blur. The timing had to be perfect. Since the barraks had automatic doors, it had to be done when someone else entered. His approach was just behind another shinigami entering, slipping in just as the doors were closing. Stopping in a shadow, he wasn't there a moment before he used his kyokko, disappearing from sight and moving out of the shadows and into the building.

Through the corridors, upstairs, past the leuitenents office to the captains office and quarters. This door wasn't automatic, nor was it open. This made it harder, but not impossible.

"Okay, just like you practiced, shunpo, then sekienton, then repeat. Star Pattern in 3...2...1...NOW!" KageNeko thought to himself before he kicked in the door. Soifon was sitting at her desk, her attention immediately drawn to the noise. Her reactions were fast, but not fast enough. Not this time.

He flash stepped into the room a few feet and then used his sekienton, a cloud of red smoke billowing outward in the room. With nowhere for the smoke to go, it rolled around inside. The noise alerted the other shinigami in the barraks, so this was it. Now or never.

Shunpo. Sekienton. Shunpo. Skienton.

Each step he released more red smoke. It filled the room with a chokingly thick atmosphere, pouring out into the halls.

Shunpo. Sekienton. Shunpo. Sekienton.

The smoke was so think it couldn't escape fast enough. Now was the time to strike. His hand dashed into his robes drawing his zanpakuto in a single swift motion. As soon as it left its sheath it swung forward at its target.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*

Massive, crushing spiritual pressure erupted in the room. The smoke was flattened to the floor, dispersing instantly out of the room through any crack it could. The air cleared, KageNeko could only stare in wide-eyed shock. Soifon stood before him, two fingers on his zanpakuto stopping it dead in mid-swing. Conversely, hers was drawn as well, currently pressing into his neck with enough force to leave a groove indented in his skin.

"You fail again. Assassins don't get second chances. If you can't kill your target, then die trying." she said harshly, narrowing her eyes at him.

KageNeko could only stare. The pressure around him had him stunned. He couldn't have moved if his life depended on it.

"I...won't fail again. Next time...I'll cut you." he struggled to get out. He narrowed his eyes as he focused his resolve. Shock was gone, he wasn't going to let her see fear in him. Assassins had no fear.

"You're lucky I let you live. I'm curious to see if you someday do." she told him. The spiritual pressure lessened and then went away completely. He slumped down when he was finally released, clutching his chest with his free hand.

"What gave me away?" he asked her. She sheathed her sword and returned to her seat.

"Shunpo negates the Kyokko momentarily when you step. When that happens, your spiritual pressure becomes detectable, and you become dead." she explained, pouring over paperwork on her desk.

Catching his breath, he finally rose to his feet, pulling back his black robes and sheathing his zanpakuto as well.

"So what do I do?" he asked her, rubbing his eyes that still ached from the smoke and pressure.

"Don't use it. Kyokko is useful for moving in open areas amongst crowds or shadowing a target in a structure. If you're using Shunpo, finish with Shunpo. Make it your final step and your targets final breath. But you can practice later, I have an assignment for you." she explained to him before picking up a peice of paper and holding it out behind her, never once looking up. KageNeko took and unfolded it, reading through the letter.

"You're going to the human world" she said, summarizing it for him before he could even finish reading, "Humans with high spiritual energy are being killed. We suspect Hollows are to blame but no hollows have been detected. Should just be a very simple recon job. Find it, kill it, come back."

KageNeko looked suprised as he read.

"You're really sending me to the human world? I'm honored. I mean, I know I just got here and all, but I'm glad you think I'm up for a mission this important." he said, trying not to gush too much. Soifon put down her pen and turned around to face him with a look of utter amusement.

"You? Alone? Oh gods no. A hollow would eat you alive and use your zanpakuto as a toothpick. You're going with a special group. This is going to be an experimental joint effort between the squads. You'll be joining shinigami from squads 5, 8, 10, 11, among others, all relatively low level, just to see if you can handle a mission of any small importance without someone having to escort you when they could be doing real work." she said, sounding more than a little condescending and sounding as if she enjoyed it.

"I see...well, I'll make the best of it. Afterall, if this is such an experimental mission, that means I must be specially qualified, right?" he asked, sounding hopeful.

"Of COURSE you're specially qualified" she told him, turning back to her work, "You're especially expendable. Now go." she told him.

Her words were sharper than any sword, doing their job of deflating his sense of hope quite well. Even so, he held his head high as he walked out of the barraks, the other shinigami staring at the new recruit who'd tried to assassinate a captain.

Evela kept playing a nice and simple melody for the people around him. He had ditched from everyone else to begin playing for some of the children down near the poorer and worse off districts, he did this every week and had gathered quite the following, even older people were coming to watch him play.

Of course he occasionally cheated, sending his reiatsu into people, making them linger for longer, but they all eventually stayed out of their own pleasure. He listened to his own song, he felt guilty and arrogant for liking his own song, but he could not help it, it sounded like such a fun song.

He was well ware that a lower seat had come to find him, but he had not wished to stop playing, so he had sent some hypnotic notes to her, sending the lady into a trance. He finally stopped playing and the applause roused her from her sleep. "Dammit Evela... She said, shaking her head. He laughed as he stood up, fixing the headphones at his shoulder.

He stretched and put his guitar on his back, he had not used his Shikai this time, he liked the extra range he got from the actual guitar. The Girl explained the situation to him, and he sighed. "Dang. Well, looks like I need to leave, I'll see you all next time." he then smiled before disappearing with his Shunpo. Evela never liked to Shunpo, he could easily, and was one of the fastest, but he could never control it very well.

He made it to his squad again in record time, burning off the lower seat easily. He put his guitar back down, and shook one of his samples he had lying around, forcing his reiatsu into the vial, forcing the chemical reaction to take place. He laughed as he abused some of the powers of science, but the test tube began to heat up and he burnt his fingers, dropping the tube and letting it smash on the ground.

"Dammit" he said to himself as he shook his fingers.

<spoiler=OOC>Yay, I started. Um, where do I go?

"Brandon is going to be on the team too? At least ill have someone i know on the team." Brad said, fliping another paper.

"KageNeko... no last name, just got put into squad two... im guessing hes strong." Brad muttered to himself, sitting down in a seat near him.

"Aoshi, cant say that i know him well." Brad muttered some more.

"Evala, Ive seen him before, we talk from time to time..."

Brad continued to mutter to himself, getting to know the bios of his team mates.

Evela sniffed some of the toxic chemicals leaking from the vial he had just dropped. "Oh shit..." he muttered to himself as he walked out of his office quickly, slamming his hand in an emergency Siren. The Siren wailed loudly, forcing people to get out of their as quick as they could, those fumes could be dangerous.

He quickly ran away from his lab as the Sirens went off, not really wishing to explain why he set off the alarm. He made it to Yanamoto's office quickly, shunpoing past people.

As he made it to the door, he stopped and straightened himself up, still disappointed about his lack of left sleeve. He walked in the door, and asked, "Um, What did you want of me?"

"Of course I do" Evela said, he chuckled slightly. "Can I perform any experiments or anything?" he asked Brad, hoping he could. "On the hollows, on the Humans, anything would do." he kept chuckling as he said that.

He shook his head away to clear from the stupid things that went through his mind. "So, what are we going to do? Just go down, and pretty much guard some humans?"

Brad just smiled, putting his hand on his hip, looping his thumb inside his teal belt loop.

"Im sure we can on a hollow or two after we have some fun with it." Brad laughed, looking at his friend.

"We are to go to the human world, and find whatever is taking the humans with high reshi, its more then likley hollows, we are to save the humans, and try to gather the humans that have already been taken, if there still alive." Brad told him.

The Music loving Shinigami began to scratch at his chin, feeling the small amount of hair sprouting, 'I should Shave...' he began thinking to himself as Brad talked, 'Oh Shit, he is still talking, crap crap crap.' he then began to concentrate, hearing the last half of the sentence.

"Haha, that sounds like fun." he scratched the back of his head, avoiding eye contact, hoping that he wouldn't notice his lack of concentration, "Oh, um. When do we leave?" he asked him, making sure he paid attention this time.

Earlier that day...
Jason was just drawing his sword, a large hollow staring down at him. The hollow was completely black, and had large horns sprouting from his mask. It let out a loud screech and tried to punch Jason, but only came up with a crater in the earth.

Jason was standing on the opposite side of the Hollow, standing completely still as if the enormous hollow hadn't just tried to punch him.

"I am Jason Shado of Squad 10 of the Thirteen Court Guard squads... this is going to be your final battle." Jason said, calmly, drawing his Zanpakuto.

The hollow only roared, turning to face Jason again. This time, a red light began to emanate from its open mouth, aimed straight at Jason. Jason's eyes showed the shock that he felt, but he managed to flash step out of the way as the cero blew a hole in the ground. Flash Stepping was still a newer technique Jason was working on learning, and it taxed his strength. Two flash steps in such a short period of time was draining his energy, and this next move would too. He didn't think he would need to even release his Zanpakuto, but he apparently needed to.

"Lash out, Ryusei." Jason said calmly, his blade bursting into flames and lashing out at the Hollow's head. The flames connected, stabbing through the Hollow's mask. The screech it had made died as soon as it started. The flames retracted, forming a long black and white blade. Jason jumped up, slicing the rest of the Hollow clean in half. The Hollow's body dissipated, and Jason fell lightly back to the ground.

He sheathed his Zanpakuto, it going back into it's sealed form. He was upset that he had needed to use his released form, but that was done now. He sighed, turning around from the cratered ground, and walking back to the other new recruits of Squad 10.

"Normally Lieutenant Matsumoto would be teaching you this, but she was busy today on business with Captain Hitsugaya. Come, we shall find some more Hollow for you to fight, smaller Hollow than the one I just finished." Jason said, motioning for the others to follow his lead. They stalked off into the woods, Hollow screechs could be heard after a few moments.

Present Time...
Jason sat alone atop a building, the training and field work he had done earlier had been difficult, but he was surviving. His Zanpakuto was laying beside him, on the flattest part of the building, considering the roof was slanted. He sighed, the new recruits had done alright today... for recruits anyway. He still remembered his beginning in the squad. He had gotten into a few fights, but nothing too serious. He sighed, rubbing his head. A Hollow had caught him from behind earlier, and he was still a bit sore. Only the familiar voice of his Lieutenant broke him from his thoughts.

"Yoohoo! Jason, come down here!" The Lieutenant cried out.

Jason glanced down to see Lieutenant Matsumoto waving him down. He stood up, and grabbed his Zanpakuto and tied it loosely to the back of his waist. He then slid down from his place on the roof, landing lightly beside his lieutenant.

"Yes lieutenant? Is there something I can help you with?" Jason asked, "How was your research with the Captain?"

"No... but you are wanted in Head Captain Yamamoto's office right away." The Lieutenant said, patting Jason on the head like he was a child and sending him on his way, "The research was boring as usual... the Captain was too stuffy, as usual. Has he ever loosened up?"

"I wouldn't know... and even if I did I could never speak ill of the Captain." Jason said, looking at Matsumoto with surprise in his eyes.

"Oh, your as stuffy as the Captain... although I can't say that there is a more loyal soldier than you. You'd better hurry off to Head Captain Yomamoto's office." Lieutenant Matsumoto said, waving goodbye to Jason and heading off towards Captain Hitsugaya's office.

Jason sighed, she would never change, she would always be that happy girl with no care's in the world. He still couldn't believe that she would talk about the captain in such a way, but that couldn't be helped. Jason flash stepped to the Head Captain's quarters, opening the doors and walking inside. He saw two others there and he nodded to them, but he paid attention only to the Head Captain.

"You needed something Captain?" Jason asked, bowing in respect.

Tell me if I need to change the part about using the flash step.

The only way for anyone to start their day in Kyuusoku's eyes is a morning soak in a hot spring. Of course squad 2 had it's own hot spring but it never truly did Kyuusokuany justice. On the other hand Shinigami's Health Land was Kyuusoku's heaven away from heaven. With the perfect temperature of 99.6 degrees Fahrenheit Kyuusoku's body felt as if his body was slowly melting away.

Being apart of squad 2 wasn't the easiest job in the world but with all the recent assassination requests he received over the past couple of years it kept the Kan rolling in. Kyuusoku slowly edged a bowl of Saki from the edge of the spring up to his lips as he let it trickle down his throat smoothly. He set it back on the edge before dipping back into the spring.

Kyuusokulet out a faint sigh,"Finally the only moment of peace I've had in the last..." Kyuusoku soon noticed his Saki dish soaring over him and eventually ending up on his head. It spilled all upon his head and dripped into the hot spring. Kyuusoku quickly turned to whoever splashed his Saki ready to beat them into the ground.

He soon noticed rice cracker crumbs along the spa's floor,"6TH SEAT KYUUSOKU YOU HAVE AN ASSIGNMENT FROM..." Marechiyo was interrupted by a sucker punch aimed directly towards his stomach. Marechiyo staggered and almost fell before turning back toward Kyuusoku and returning the punch. Though as Marechiyo's punch tried to connect all he was left with was thin air. The momentum from the punch sent Marechiyo into the hot spring.

Kyuusokuslowly grabbed his robes and his Zanpakuto before knelling over Marechiyo. He coughed up some water as he tried to get out of the hot spring and slipped back in.

"Who was the message from?"

"From..old man Yamamoto" Kyuusokucursed under his breath before using Hayai to push Marechiyo back into the spring as he tried to get back up once again. As Kyuusoku found himself outside he soon noticed that his back felt a little tight. He decided that he was going to go for a little warm up stretch. With his Shunpo Kyuusoku ran a couple of laps around the Seireitei before making his

way to Yamamoto's office. When he arrived he was breathing heavily with a single ball of sweat trickling down his face.

"You needed to see me?"

Giving Chihiro one last kiss goodbye, Brandon walked out of his room towards The Head-Captains office. I wonder what Old man Yamamoto has me doing, and if there's anyone else coming along?" He wondered to himslef as he stpped into his office. "You wanted to see me sir?" He smiled as he saw the others in the room. The only one he reconized was Brad Hiburi of Squad 10 but the others were fairly new to him.

KegoNeko stepped outside of the Squad 2 barraks, taking a deep breath and looking up into the air. The day was clear, with only a slight wind. It was a very nice day.

"So let's see. According to the letter, I'm to report to..." he trailed off as he scanned towards the bottom of the page, "...Yamamoto's office. Yamamoto...Yamamoto...who was he again?"

He started wandering while he tried to remember exactly who'd sent the letter. Thankfully there was a full address on the letter head, so he at least knew where to go. Passing through the crowds in the street he had to slip around people as they walked. It had always been like this. KageNeko had to be careful where he stepped or else someone would run into him or step on him like he wasn't even there. For whatever reason, as far as most people were concerned, either he was utterly invisable, or he just didn't exist in their worlds.

Turning into an open market he had to leap into the air. A couple holding hands had come around in the opposite direction and almost bowled him over. His leap pushed him a good twenty feet into the air, hanging there for a moment as he hung at the precipice of freefall.

"This is always so troublesome. Hado #1: Sho!" he said under his breath. Extending his hand in front of him, he focused his spiritual energy and pushed hard. His target wasn't the couple though, instead pushing hard over a wide area against the air itself and flying backwards. Twisting in the air, he flew in a gentle arc and landed neatly on a nearby roof.

"I don't know why I don't always travel this way." he said a bit louder as he started walking again. Up here now, he was all by himself, something he was used to in life as well as his newfound seat in squad 2.

Even though squad 2 excelled in assassination, black ops, infiltration, and espionage, squad 2 also had the distinct duty of being couriers for the shinigami world. It was shit work, normally assigned to the lower recruits like himself, so he was used to running all over the soul society alone.

"Right! I remember now" he exclaimed, snapping his fingers as it finally came to him. He looked back down at the letter, "Yamamoto, captain of squad 1 and the gotei 13. Captain of squad 1...oh hell, I need to hurry."

Folding up the letter and stuffing it into his clothes, he focused his spiritual energy and leaned forward. He ran a few steps before he vanished in a blur, knowing now where he had to go and covering the distance with his shunpo in mere seconds. When he stopped, he looked up at the 1st Division barracks.

"Okay then, here we go." he said, stepping forward and pushing the door open, disappearing into the darkness inside.

Aoshi made great time with shunpo and found himself outside of the head captain's office mere minutes after he had left Captain Kyoraku. This is why I'm third seat instead of that moron Tatsufusa Enjoji. Sometimes I wonder how he even got that high in ranking... Opening the door, he walked into the office and saw two other shinigami, people who names escaped him at the moment waiting for him. "3rd Seat, Squad 8 Aoshi Minuzami reporting for duty."

"Its good to see you all." Brad said, looking that most of the team was in Yamamoto's office.

"I am 6th seat of squad 10, Brad Hiburi." Brad said, putting the folder down on the chair he was sitting in.

"Looks like almost everyone is here, we can fill in Ken later." he continued, folding his arms.

"Head Captain Yamamoto here wants us to go to the human world and see what is making all the humans with high Reshi go missing, this will be a multi squad team that I will be leading, we where all chose because of our skills, no idea how long this mission is going to take, but I expect you all to be ready, but its all your choice if you want to go, so, whos in?"

"Why would you lead Hiburi? Why not let someone of Lieutenant rank lead us? Or someone higher than 6th chair?" Jason asked jokingly, yet serious at the same time. He would follow Hiburi, but he wouldn't like it because Hiburi was a lower chair than himself.

"You know I will follow you, but I will comment on your progress the entire journey." Jason said again, crossing his arms and looking at Brad.
