Abhiryu glides across the sky and passes the array of buildings and busy streets as he heads to the more residential area with the smell of food in the air. As Abhiryu nears the shop he notes that there is an unknown spiritual presents, in the distance he see what looks like to be another shinigami. Abhiryu thinks he is probably just someone that the soul society sent because they think we can't get it done. I just ignore him, he doesn't interest him. Abhiryu lands in front of the shop...

"wow, there were a lot more hollows than i excpected.

Abhiryu turns to the shop.

"now were is that bath?"

Kage ran through streets as fast as he could back towards the shop. As he huffed and puffed he could only think how much he'd gotten accustomed to his shunpo and taken it for granted. This was torture. And as if the run itself wasn't bad enough, dodging around the people and cars...the damage that the fight had caused had led to quite the disturbance. The noise from the hollows smashing buildings and cars, as well as the attacks from the other shinigamis shikai's had caused a lot of noise. Sirens echoed all over the town as fire, police, and medical vehicles rushed all over.

And the pedestrians. At this time of night, Kage thought there'd be no one around, but the streets were slowly filling which made it all the harder. He couldn't risk touching any of them. If he knocked anyone over it might cause a panic, and then he'd REALLY be in trouble. Still, the farther away from the battle sites he got, the less people there were until he was far enough away that the buildings were dark as the people slept.

But eventually he turned onto the street with Uraharas shop. Of course, it was at the other end of the street. Giving a sigh he started running again down the darkened sidewalks until he finally jogged over to the door and pushed it open. Having remained outside the last time, this was all new to him, but it looked like just a normal shop. It was the shop keeper that was the oddball.

"Oh look, another one made it back." Urahara said as he cooled himself with a paper fan, sitting on the other side of a table from Brad. By the looks of the plates on the table, they'd been here long enough to enjoy riceballs in the time it took him to get there. Kage knew him by description and reputation, but to see him now...this..."shinigami" was a captain? Who could tell...

"Hah...hah...yeah...I made it. Why did we have to fight the hollows all the way on the other side of town again?" Kage said between breaths. He couldn't see Uraharas expression behind the fan, but his eyes betrayed his amusement.

"You look just all tuckered out. Here, I got something for you..." Urahara said, reaching into his pocket with his freehand. His fan became still as he withdrew his closed fist, "Now open your mouth nice and wide."

Kage narrowed his eyes and leaned his head back a bit, giving the shinigami in the sandal hate a distrustful gaze. If he was who he said he was, he was the exiled squad 12 captain. Squad 12 was shifty enough, but to be exiled from there...how bad do you have to screw up to get kicked out of the screwy squad...

"Why" he said flatly with his head turned off to the side. The look of amusement never left Uraharas eyes though.

"Aww, come on. If I didn't know any better, I'd guess you were afraid of me. Why would li'l ol' me try to do anything to a big, bad shinigami like you? Just open your mouth and close your eyes, and you'll get a big, big suprise."

Kage hesitated a bit but eventually went along with it. he looked at Urahara and opened his mouth, but didn't close his eyes. Even if he was low on energy, he still wanted to be able to react. Urahara held up his hand though, laying it flat with a small ball in his palm. he laid down his fan and place his finger behind it, held at the tip by his thumb. Kage realised what he was doing through but before he could react, Urahara flicked the little ball all the way across the shop into his mouth off his hand. It went straight down his throat making his cough and gag, which seemed to delight Urahara to no end.

"*cough* What the *hack* hell was that?" Kage spit out as he held his throat. Amidst his amusement, he called over a little girl.

"Ururu, would you mind getting him a drink before he chokes and passes out on the floor?" Urahara told her. The shy girl gave a meek nod and ran off, coming back later with a glass of water and held it up for him. Kage took it quickly and guzzled down the whole glass in a single go before gasping for air. The girl simply looked down with her hands folded behind her back as he caught his breath.

"Ha...ha...thank you. I was dying over here because of him." he said as he handed it back to her. She took the glass and ran back into the backroom, but didn't come back out.

"Dying over there, listen to him." Urahara said through a smirk, "For someone who's dying, how do you feel now?"

Kage looked up at him with a glare and stood up the rest of the way. He took a step and a sudden rush of energy washed over him like a warm fire in his belly that spread out to his fingers and toes.

"What? What is this?" he asked, looking down at his hands.

"Energy pills. Standard equipment in squad 4. I have a few laying around here still from way back. It's good to see they're still good, I hear they can do terrible things when the spiritual energy goes bad in them." Urahara explained, much to the disdain of Kage.

"So glad I could be your guinea pig..." he said, still rubbing his throat though. it didn't go down nicely. Looking over to Brad in the other chair though, he decided to ask, "So what does the mission say we do now?"

Brad smiled as Urahara messed with Kage.

"Dont worry Kage, he just likes to mess around, hes not a nut like the current squad 12 captain, He never blew up his underlings to try to kill his enemy, Like Mr.Makeup did when Ichigo's group popped into our world." Brad smerked.

"But anyway, we are going to look around town, where the human's where takin, and after that, we will report back here, and then deside what to do next." he said.

"Will you be needing any Gigai Brad?" Urahara asked, looking over at Brad now.

"No, We are not in the need of any fake bodies this time, thank you though." the young soul reaper said, looking back at Urahara.

"Oh and Abhiyu, its late, we should all go take a rest and wait for tomorrow, if this night last any longer, im going to go crazy."

"YAAAAAAWN!" Ken yawned as he landed in front of Urahara's shop. Ken's battle craze had worn off and he was exhausted. It had been a long time since Ken had that much fun. Now, he needed sleep.

"If Anyone needs me, I'm right here!" Ken whined as he passed out on the steps of the shop.

Ryukiba reverted to its handle state and Ken began to snore loudly...

Brandon sighed as he landed in front of the shop, it had taken longer than he had expected to get back. "Excuse me Urahara-san, Is there a place you want me to put this idiot." He asked calling through the door way. Standing in front of the sleeping Soul Reaper.

"Alright." Brandon said dragging him in just past the door and left him sprawled on the floor. He sighed and shook his head, "Oh well." He said with a shrug "I'll be in the living room Urahara-san, please wake me if I'm in the way." He said walking into the small room laying his swords up against a wall. He sat next to them and soon fell asleep.

Jason was sitting in the corner, his zanpakuto laying by his side. He was already bandaged up, and he watched as the other Soul Reapers walked into Urahara's shop. He was trying to catch some sleep, but the sudden appearance of the other Soul Reapers had woken him up.

After the ordeal with Urahara, Kage dismissed himself and took a seat off in the corner of the shop. Despite the unpleasant fashion in which he gave it to him, he did feel better. That pill had done wonders, he felt completely restored. But, that did leave a lot for him to consider.

Looking down at is zanpakuto, he couldn't help but reflect on how weak he'd been in battle. His first fight against hollows and he'd been rescued twice, by two different shinigami. His power had been so lacking; without kido, he was useless.

Leaning back in his chair he took Brads advice. While they still had time, it was best to get some rest. But since Urahara tossed him that pill he wasn't in as desperate need as some of the others. And he had something to take care of. Resting a hand on the hilt of his zanpakuto and closing his eyes, he focused his energies on it, traveling within himself and within the blade, the world around him falling away and opening up into a much darker, much bleaker landscape.

The world became dark, a thick overcast sky enveloping the world in eternal shadow. The irony of this had never been lost on him. When he joined squad 2, he'd been given the name 'KageNeko' as his callsign, being told that it 'reflected his inner self'. So how appropriate that the shinigami's inner world was cast in the same shadows he was named for.

It wasn't completely dark though. The landscape was cracked with glowing red and orange streams of lava. Why the landscape was volcanic he never knew. It was always hot, so hot, uncomfortably hot. But she seemed to like it. And she was here. Behind him came a constant *tick-tick-tick-tick-tick*, a metalic clicking echoing over the barren landscape just barely audible over the hiss of heated and melting rock. Kage turned around on the spot and looked up.

"So you finally came to see me? How sweet of you." she said as she descended over an outcropping of rock. Her red lips curled into a seductive smile as she looked down at the shinigami. One arm hung in front of her as the other rested on a sadistic-looking barbed staff that laid over the backside of her body. Her white hair appeared less so, reflecting the red light around her and looking more like flowing, liquid ruby.

"H-hello...Gleam." Kage said, looking down for a moment. He never liked coming here. He didn't like the land, he didn't like the sky. And he wasn't particularly fond of her either. The half woman, half spider walked quietly and gingerly over to him, the metal grieves on the ends of her legs making almost no noise as she stepped. Reaching forward, she lifted his chin with her finger, her long claws pressing into his skin lightly.

"Aww, still that same mopey face?" she said with a pout on her lips, "Want mommy kiss it and make all the sadness go away?"

Kage looked up and brushed her hand away with the back of his. He took a deep breath and stook his ground in front of her.

"For the last time, no, I don't want a kiss. You know, you have a reputtion. I've told you before, Soifon warned me about you. I'm not going to be the next in your rather long list of victims." He told her, biting his lip though as he felt like he may have crossed the line. Her pout turned into a grin though.

"Always so suspicious. Why would I want to hurt someone as sweet and kind and...tender...as you? Kage...Kage...we're partners. We should get closer, get to know each other better...intimately..." she said. Her voice was soft, tender, but creepy as she reached forward. Slipping her arms around his neck, she pulled him forward, his face about level with her belly. He almost went along with it as well, but ducked down and pulled away at the last minute.

"No, no." he said, shaking his head, and shaking off her influence, "You're not going to get me that easily." he told her, looking up at her again with new determination. The drider planted her staff in the ground and rested her arms against the barbed end of it, leaning her upper body against it for support.

"Well, have it your way. If you didn't come here for a little bit of romance, then why did you come here? Business again?" She said, the seductive tone leaving her voice, and a more motherly one taking its place. It was a little bit more soothing, but at the same time, no less creepy.

"I had my first fight against a hollow today." He told her, shuffling his feet a bit on the ashen ground. Her lips curled into a grin again, bearing her pointed teeth.

"I know, I was there. They tasted...mmmmmmm...delectible." she said, licking her crimson lips after she spoke. The sight sent a shiver up his spine.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought I was going to die. I wasn't strong enough. Two other shinigami had to save me. They were sealing hollows left and right; I only got one and helped get another." he said, his confidence faltering again as he looked down. Gleam shook her head, tutting him.

"tsk tsk tsk, Kage-chan. There are many different kinds of strength. Soifon warned you about me because she has experience with me. I always end up with the squad 2 shinigami. You have strength in you, just different." she said, as she laid a hald on his cheek, dragging her claws over his pale skin, "You'll never have the same raw strength as those mindless brutes from squad 11. It's just a fact. But you'll be stronger than them because you do use your mind. A battle is like a hunt for prey, you have to think ahead. Turn their strength into their weakness, and then conquer it."

Kage looked up at her, but didn't brush her hand away. Meeting her eyes for a moment and staring into her pupil-less white orbs, his mouth hung open speechless. She leaned down and half closed her eyes, pursing her lips as she moved down towards his face. At the last minute though, something inside him tripped and he pulled away, shaking his head. She lifted her head back up, that grin still apparent on her lips.

"Mmm, Kage. You're still prey. But you have it in you to become the predator." she told him as Kage caught his breath from the scare. He'd been so close to her, so close to death, "But here, this may help..."

Kage watched as Gleam lifted herself up on all eight of her legs. She ran a hand down her underside between all of them down to the end of her abdoment. Her fingers ran over the tip of it, stroking it lightly before a long, silver spike slipped out of the tip. Her fingers ran along the length of her stinger to the very tip where her finger lifted away. It retracted back into her body as she lowered herself back down and reached forward.

"Hold out your hand." she told him. Kage was hesitant, but did so after a moment. She held her finger out and let it hover over his palm before she tapped it with another finger. A single droplet fell off into his palm, and before he could move to drop it, she took his hand and curling his fingers around it.

"Wha-" he started to say as she pressed a different finger to his lips.

"Shh shh shh. It's a gift. You'll know when you see it." she told him. Leaning forward again, she moved her head up and pressed her lips again his forehead before stepping back a bit, "You have it in you to be a predator, a hunter. Make me proud." she told him before she banished him from her world. The barren landscape fell away as he was plunged into darkness, rushing back to uraharas shop.

His eyes snapped open as he gasped. His hand still rested on hit hilt of his zanpakuto, leaving it and wiping off his forehead. He came back in a cold sweat, his heart still pounding as he sat back up in his seat. Leaning forward and resting on his knees, he rubbed his eyes.

"Oh god...she's going to be the death of me..."

Brad looked over at Urahara, thinking it was time to sleep, and talk to Izunagi.

"Im going to take a rest Urahara-Sama." He said.

"No worries, see you in the morning." Urahara smiled, waving goodnight to the young soul reaper as he picked his sword up, and rested in the corner, falling asleep.

-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Its been a while Brad" A tall figure said as it sat on a rock, one knee pressed agesnt its chest, a strang spear laying on the ground next to it.

"That it has Izunagi." Brad smiled, looking as his sword's spirit stood up, the wind of his world, a mixture of a city, with buildings all around, and a country side, rocks, grass, and trees, it looked more like a overgrown city then anything.

"You did very well today, a nice ballance of your spirit power and your physical being."

"I guess, this was a long day, too much going through my mind..."

"I can tell, your wondering whos doing this, not if, who, and your worried about your team." Izunagi smerked, jumping down off of his rock, now towering above his Shinigami partner.

"Cant hide anyone from you, can I? Brad laughed.

"Nope." Izunagi chuckled, looking down at his friend.

"So Brad, i feel the training getting closer to... that." Izunagi said, picking up his knife headed spear.

"Yea, and we might need it soon, Itll help." Brad smerked, looking to Izunagi.

"You know Kiri will be proud of you when it happens."

"As will Izunami with you." Brad said as Izunagi blushed.

Ken was wandering through a dense forest.

"KEEEEEEN!!!!" Came a shout from behind a tree. A small white furry dragon darted out and tackled Ken. The dragon wagged his tail in excitement as he licked his master's face.

"Haha! Its been a while hasn't it Ryukiba!?" Ken laughed as he rubbed Ryukiba behind his ears.

"Oooh! Yeah! Too long! A little lower, oh yeah thats the spot!" Ryukiba moaned in pleasure as ken rubbed his ears. "Ahh, so, how long are you gonna be here for this time?" he asked.

"I'm asleep right now, so i have a few hours, waddaya wanna do?" Ken replied to his Zanpakto's spirit.

FLASHBACK!!!!

This is Ryukiba, Ken's Zanpakto. Ken was orphaned as a child and was forced to live on the streets. He found Ryukiba in a pile of junk and decided to keep it. A battered sword hilt, nothing more.

A month later Ken was cornered by some thugs.

"Hey kid, if you wanna pass through here, you gotta pay!" One of the goons giggled as he held his cutlass towards Ken.

"Back off! I don't have any beef with you." Ken growled.

"Hehehehe! I don't think he heard you! Hehehe!" another thug laughed.

"Stay back!" Ken held the battered sword hilt in front of him in a guarding stance.

"Hahahaha! you think that piece of crap is gonna save you?" thug #1 cackled.

A light began shining from the sword hilt. It enveloped Ken and he found himself in a meadow. There was a white furry dragon sitting in front of him.

"Do you need some help mister?" The dragon asked.

"Uhh, yeah, that would be really nice." Ken replied.

The dragon dashed forward and jumped on top of ken, bringing him to the ground.

"Alright! I'll help you on one condition!" The Dragon chirped.

"And that would be?"

"You have to promise that you will never abandon me! I felt so alone and sad for so long, that I don't think I could stand to be alone for much longer."

Ken thought about it for a second and looked the white dragon in the eyes. "Its a deal! Now what do I call you?"

"Yay! I got a friend!" The dragon jumped up and down on Ken's stomach. "You can call me Ryukiba! Just say my name and I will help you! 'kay?" Ryukiba chirped.

The light faded and Ken was back in reality.

"Well that was a whole lot of nothing." Stated Thug #2.

"You finished stalling? now hand over everything you've got!" growled Thug #1

"Heh, Scum. RYUKIBA!!!!" Ken screamed the dragon's name and wind began to swirl around him.

The hilt began to glow and a silver blade grew out of it and curved at the tip.

Ken now had a weapon but he didn't know how to use it.

A voice suddenly appeared in his head. "Hey, if you don't know how to use my power, you could always let me take over for a bit." Ryukiba whispered. "If you want this, just say 'Take Flight! Ryukiba!'

Ken didn't have much of a choice in the matter, it was either this or try his luck on his own. Ken knew that his luck sucked so he listened to the dragon.

"TAKE FLIGHT! RYUKIBA!" Ken shouted at the thugs.

He instantly felt something enter his body and begin taking control. Wind Swirled around Ken as Ryukiba adjusted to Ken's body. Ken's eyes became cat-like and his canine teeth grew over his lip. His nails grew into claws and ears sharpened to a point.

"So you are the trash threatening my new master?" Ken/Ryukiba growled at the thugs. His voice had two tones in it. One was his, and one was Ryukiba.

"ENOUGH!" Thug #1 roared as he charged forward with his cutlass.

Ken's arm shot out in front of him. Wind began condensing in his palm. When the thug got close enough, the ball of condensed air was released and impacted with the man's abdomen, knocking him onto the ground.

Ken leaped on top of him and used his claws to carve his face off. The man screaming and flailing the entire time. The man stopped struggling and stood up, blood and bits of flesh dripping from his claw-like nails.

"m-m-m-m-MONSTER!" The other thug slumped against the wall.

"I'm a monster? No. You who would threaten my master for the little coin he has, YOU are the monster! RAAAAAAAH!" Ken's body lunged forward and swung the long dagger at the man's throat, cleanly decapitating him.

"You're welcome." Ryukiba told Ken. Ken clutched his head as Ryukiba returned to the sword hilt state. Ken's fangs disappeared, his nails, ears, and eyes returned to the human norm. Ken looked at his hands and simply stared at the gore that caked them.

"Well then."

==============================================================================================

Ken and Ryukiba played the night away until Ryukiba fell asleep.

Ken, worn out from playing so much, promptly fell asleep in the dream as well...

Brandon muttered in his sleep, "uhhhh.....need to feed...nggg, so hungry, need to...NO!" He called sitting upright. A cold sweat ran down his back, "What the hell did I just go through?" He asked himself looking around, thankfully it didn't look like he had woken anyone up. Once again his thoughts wondered to the dream, he had been hungry, no not just hungry, starving. He had never felt so hungry yet it was familiar. "Maybe Tsuninhitsu Ryu knows more." He said to himself as he took the blades from the scabbard. He laid them on his lap and closed his eyes. He rested hsi hands on the blades and soon felt himself and his swords connect.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon opened his eyes and saw a forest in front of him. It looked warm and inviting, small and teaming with life. A mountain stood on the horizon tall powerful, yet giving of a feeling of protection, But he knew that this mountain stood in the exact center of the forest. From the top of the mountain it looked as of the forest spread out forever. Brandon looked around and found the path leading towards the mountain and set off.

The forest went by quickly, the further he went the darker it got. Soon instead of the chirping of birds that had sounded as he entered changed to quiet. Soon after that it changed to moaning and the rattling of chains. He had never traveled this far in, Tusinhitsu ryu had always met him half way. It was if the sun had never risen over where he stepped.

He arrived at the foot of the mountain to find a large mouth of a cave. Must be his home. He thought taking a step closer. He stopped when he saw a gleam of white. A large grin, almost insane. Then two orbs of Yellow appeared above them.

"Hehe, well well. Look who showed up. You owe me blue boy A deep voice, full of malice said from the cave.

" So I do. Now What can we do for you my master." Said calmer voice. Two dragon heads emerged from the cave, one Blood Red, the other A Deep blue. Both were connected to one enormous grey body.

"Now, like he said, What do you want? Maybe your wondering what was up with that dream? The Red head asked smiling again. The teeth were sharp and gleaming, Brandon felt no good intentions from the smile.

"Yes, I do. What was that? What was I?" Brandon asked looking from one head to another.

"Honestly we.."The blue head began, but the red one spoke up." Want you tow find out for your self." He said still smiling. The blue looked at him in confusion. " Ain't that right blueboy? No reason for you to be told, you need to find out for your self so you can become..." He began to explain but was cut off as he roared in pain, The blue head had bitten him in the neck.

" Be silent you idiot, if you confuse him now we'll never know ourselves and if we don't know he may die, and if he dies, we die." He growled at the other head. "We don't know my friend.

Brandon looked down, "Damn Well what was with the moaning and chain rattling then?" He asked jabbing his thumb over his shoulder.

"Not a clue." the red Dragon responded glaring at the blue head.

Brandon stared longer at the dragons then sighed. "Fine, If you guys don't know I guess I'll have to figure it out some other way."

" Seems so, hey next time you get in a fight try to let the red guy kill some more." the red Dragon said as Brandon walked away.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon opened his eyes and seethed his swords. "What was that that area though?" Brandon asked himself as he sat back against the wall and fell asleep again.

Evela stumbled down into a spot, his sword slamming into his leg because he fell to the ground awkwardly. "Dammit..." he muttered t himself as he began to fall asleep.
______________________________________________________

He woke up with Meikyoku waking him harshly with a swift kick to the side.
"Argh, who does that?" Evela asked his spirit who had just sent him reeling.
"I do. Come on, we have not made a song in a while." the cloaked man offered his hand, which Evela took and hoisted himself up.

Instead of picking up his favourite guitar stored inside his world, he went over to his grand piano. Without waiting for Meikyoku, he began to play just a simple melody with his left hand, laying down a small bass track for his swords spirit to work with. He listened to the Rhythm for a while, before taking out a saxophone hanging from his belt, and began to play along with Evela.

After a few minutes of that, Evela began to laugh, "enough warming up?" which was followed by silence and a nod from Meikyoku, which made Evela laugh even more. "I had this song in my head for the past while, I am sure you must have heard it. Lets try that"
Another nod from him.

Evela began to play, it was really simple when compared to his other songs, but it sounded amazing still. "Ah yes, that one" Meikyoku commented before putting the saxophone away and swapping it with a microphone.

At first he was just humming a melody to accompany Evelas Piano, but slowly began to form sentences and chorus'.

<spoiler=OOC>Sorry for my absence for a while. I had stuff to do. Ah well, it doesnt seem like I missed much anyway =P

Anyway, if anyone actually really wants, I can actually form this song into a proper one... I have the piano... Just need some Lyrics...

Wiping his brow, Kage looked around the room. There were more people here now. That squad 11 shinigami that had taken out all those hollows, the shinigami with the stringed shikai was here as well, as well as most of the others. There was still a missing shinigami though. Even if he didn't remember everyones names, he still remembered that one. It was the other member of squad 2.

He sat up and leaned forward, rubbing his eyes. The trip inside his zanpakuto was intense, but then it always was when dealing with her. Like playing with fire, if he wasn't careful he'd get burned. But the way she spoke to him...

"Make me proud."

He was almost afraid to think about what she meant by that, but he had a pretty good idea regardless. She was sadistic, she was ruthless, and she only ever wanted one thing.

Shaking the thoughts off though he looked around the shop once more. It was dark still, more than an hour or so couldn't have passed since he got back. It was hard to tell though since time didn't exist in her world. As he was looking around though a small fluttering caught his eye off in the corner. Just a small movement in the darkened corner of the shop, but there was only one thing he could think of.

"What's one of those doing here?" he said softly so as not to attract attention. Reaching out and extending a finger, the movement in the corner moved out of the shadows. A small, black butterfly flitted silently through the air over to him and landed on the tip of his finger, waving its wings up and down slowly while he lifted it to his lips.

"You're a long way from home. Are you here for me?" he asked it before turning his head. Lowering his ear to the black insect, he could hear it speak in a language he couldn't understand, but somehow could still comprehend. It was the oddest feeling, like he never learned it but already knew it, like a bird flies or a fish swims.

"Kaze, Kyuusuko" Kage repeated under his breath as the butterflies words entered his ears. His eyes went wide though while it finished its message.

"Terminate"

Kage dropped his hand and the hell butterfly fluttered back up into the air. He looked up and watched it rise to the cieling, following the movement of its wings while it moved into the shadows once more. Once there the movement disappeared, the butterfly slipping back into the soul society.

"Terminate..." he repeated to himself. His heart pounded as he ran it over and over in his head. He was a member of squad 2, and that meant that certain duties fell into his responsability. He knew that when he was recruited, and he'd trained for it every day. Lessons with the other shinigami in squad 2, the attempts on Soifon that forced him to hone his skills. But this time, this was real. Even when he attacked Soifon, he knew that he couldn't hurt her. At the same time though, he knew that she wouldn't hurt him. At least, that's what he thought. Now he would be in very real danger. Not like with a mindless hollow, this was a fellow shinigami. There'd only be one chance here, and if he didn't complete, he'd die.

Rising to his feet, he stretched out a bit. The pill that Urahara had force-fed him had restored him. His energy was completely refilled, and his meditation had honed his focus like the edge of his zanpakuto. Taking a deep breath, he used that focus to push everything else from his mind. All stray thoughts, all doubts and fears, and then every concept of morality and ethics. Right, wrong, or indifferent, it was time to go to work.

Moments later, Kage was flying high over the the city. Focusing his reishi under his feet he launched himself in the air, gathering more around himself to thinken the air and keep himself aloft. It was an expensive way to fly, but it gave him a birds-eye view for a short time. Scanning the city quickly for his target, he saw the damage from the earlier fights. There were still many lights all over the city, red, white, and blue. Memories came back to him from the time he was alive. Red and white...he'd seen those lights on ambulances and fire trucks. Red and blue...that was police. But as long as they were occupied elsewhere he didn't need to worry about being bothered.

"Damnit, I can't see him from up here." Kage cursed at himself. He was too high up, and it was too dark to spot the black cloth of a shinigami. If he couldn't spot him visably, that left another option. Thinning the reishi around him he fell from the sky, descending quickly and landing on the roof of a three story building. The reishi around his body helped to soften the blow, but it was still rather hard.

"Oof. I have to quit doing that." he said, standing back up again. Looking around for a hiding place he ducked off into a roof entryway, hiding in the shadows from the moonlight. He croutch low and used his finger to draw a circle in the dirt. He divided it in half twice and wrote the letters for the cardinal direction in each quarter. With one hand on his zanpakuto he pressed his other on the ground, closing his eyes as he softly spoke.

"Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain."

Small bits of glowing reishi rose up around him, spiraling in the air breifly before moving out in all directions, fading out of sight the farther they moved away. The circle on the roof lit up as well, brilliantly at first and then dimming. Small bits of reishi moved inside and changed color. Humans remained blue and populated most of the circle, but one last bit shifted from blue to red.

"There you are, Kyuusuko. Sorry, but your time is up. Nothing personal, just orders." he said. With a swipe of his hand he brushed the circle off the roof and canceled the kido before standing up again. Stepping out of the shadows he looked off in the direction he'd been pointed. Holding up his hand he extended two fingers in front of himself, focusing his energy and gathering a bit more reishi around himself.

"Kyokko!" Kage said strongly under his breath. His hair flew as the reishi rose around him and cloaked him from sight, moments later the roof standing empty as it was before his arrival. He moved quickly. Maintaining the kyokko was taxing under the best circumstances, without all the pressure he was under. Running across the rooftops, he couldn't use his shunpo or anything else. He remembered that much from Soifon.

"Shunpo negates the Kyokko momentarily when you step. When that happens, your spiritual pressure becomes detectable, and you become dead."

Using only the smallest amount of energy to jump over streets and alleyways he closed in on his target. Kyuusuko was still out in the field, sitting on top of the porch attached to a house and leaning back on the roof. A bottle of sake was perched precariously on the peak while he craddled a bowl in his fingers.

"Found you" Kage said under his breath. Now it was time to close in and finish the job. Silently as the wind, he leapt through the air onto the same house he was resting on, on the opposite side. His leg gave under him, absorbing the impact to keep him from being noticed. Reaching down he grabbed the hilt of his zanpakuto and slowly drew it, the edge shining in the moonlight as he dispelled the kyokko. At this point, he wasn't worried about being discovered. Even if Kyuusuko was paying attention, it was too late for him to fight back.

Kage held his blade out to the side and closed his eyes again.

"Gleam, the time is now. Silver fang, Bite!" he said in a hushed voice. The blade contracted into the hilt as the cord slid from the end, reaching down to the roof and pooling at his feet. He let the tanto-sized blade fall from his hand and feed the cord through his fingers until he had a good three feet and then reached down, grabbing the end and wrapping it around his other hand. Standing back up, he gave the blade a kick and threw it into a spin.

"KYUUSUKO!" Kage finally yelled out. The shinigami on the roof was startled into attention, rolling over onto all fours in suprise before breathing a sigh of relief.

"What th- Oh, it's you. Hey Kage, care for a drink?" he asked, rescuing the bottle before it could fall off. Kage stook stoicly while the blade spun behind him, but didn't give an answer. Kyuusuko looked confused.

"What's going on? I thought all the hollows were gone, relax already. It's cool." he said, sitting back again and pouring a bowl of alcohol, offering it out to him. Kage spread his stance before spinning around. Using the momentum from the arc of his swing he thrust the blade forward, releasing it with his lead hand. The blade streaked through the air and struck the bowl, shattering it into a million shards. They glimmered in the moonlight amongst the many droplets of sake before it all fell to the roof. Kyuusuko looked stunned.

"Kage, what the hell's wrong with you?" he asked, getting up. The look in his eyes bretrayed a sense of fear that washed over him as Kage jerked on the cord and caught the blade as it flew to him. Letting it out on the cord like before, he moved it into a swing.

Kyuusuko was stunned for a moment, but it quickly passed. The fear in his eyes was soon replaced by anger. For whatever reason, Kage was here for him. One way or another, one of them wasn't walking away from this.

"Fine, then I guess we're doing this." he said as he drew his zanpakuto as well. Gripping it tightly in both hands he held it in a defensive position in front of him.

"Darkness and Light Guide Me! Hayai, Fire!" He shouted out. The hilt of his zanpakuto bent as the blade scooted down towards the bottom edge of the guard. From the top of the guard a long barrel extended nearly all the way down the dull edge. Releasing the hilt with one hand, he held it forward with the other, pointing the new gun at Kage.

"I don't know why you're here, but you picked a fight with the wrong shinigami." He said. His finger reached around the trigger and without warning pulled it. Light appeared inside the barrel only moment before a shot of concentrated reishi fired out at near impossible speed. Kage moved as quickly as he could but the bullet still tore through the arm of clothes. But he moved with his dodge and threw forward again. Rather than try to harm him directly, Kages shikai ricocheted off the blade of Kyuusukos and knocked it off course. Exploiting the moment Kage rushed forward with his arm outstretched in front of him.

"SHO!" He yelled out, a sudden wave of force moving ahead of him. Catching Kyuusuko off guard it threw him off the roof and across the street though he managed to twist himself and land on his feet, holding his empty hand on the shingles for balance while his shikai was held out to the side. For just a moment, he seemed to be out of breath.

"Ha...ha...that was pretty good. Let's see you try that again though." he shouted across the street. Kage stopped his rush standing on the same porch Kyuusuko had been on moments before, reeling in his shikai and spinning it up again.

"Kaze, Kyuusuko. By the orders of Soifon and the Gotei 13, you are hereby ordered terminated." Kage informed him, shouting back across the street. Kyuusuko, despite being informed of his own death, looked more angry than confused.

"Bullshit. This is completely unfair. Why did they order my termination, and if they were really serious, why would they send you?" he shouted, moving his shikai back in front of him pointed at Kage once more.

"As for why, you don't need to know. Once you're dead, it won't matter" Kage informed him loud and clear from where he stood. His voice became hushed though, "As for why me...it's because I'm a predator...Gleam..."

Kage pulled the length of cord between his hands taught while the blade spun around in an arc as tall as he was. On the other side of the street, Kyuusuko pulled the lever on his gunblade, charging the gun with his reishi and cocking it.

"What was that? I didn't hear that last part. Actually, nevermind. It doesn't matter, because I'm going to kill you first. Face it, this fight is over. I can shoot you, but you can't reach me. I have the advantage, and just in case you weren't lying, I can't let you go. KageNeko, DIE!"

Kyuusuko pulled the trigger on his shikai. The light inside the barrel flared as the reishi bullet left the barrel. Kage focus heightened and slowed down his perspective of time for him while his shikai swung low. THis move had to be perfect. As soon as his shikai passed the low point of its arc, he spread his legs letting them slide down the shingled roof on either side of the arc. As he went down, his shikai went up behind him. At the top of its arc he swung forward and let the blade fly, the edge shining in the moons light and reflecting the light of the bullet heading his way.

Kage's legs spread far enough to drop him down onto the peak of the roof while he let his shikai go. Inside, he felt the exhileration from Gleam while it flew towards Kyuusuko. The bullet passed over his head, missing him by mere fractiongs of an inch. Several hairs on his head split and flew up into the air in the wake of the reishi shell. Ahead of him, his shikai was nearing the end of its length.

"Gleaming Silver Fang, REACH FOR ME!" Kage shouted. The momentum of his throw carried as more cord fed out of the hilt of his shikai. Every foot that poured out took length off the blade, but Kage knew how far his reach was. Just as Kyuusuko said, this fight was over.

His eyes went wide as the blade struck him in the stomach. Kyuusuko looked down at the hilt sticking out of his body and reached down to grab it. He didn't pull it out, just held it as he stared astonished that the lower shinigami had managed to actually hit him.

"You...how?" He asked in bewilderment. Kage jerked on the cord and pulled his shikai back. Sailing through the air it was apparent just how much he'd had to extend his reach with only a couple inches of blade left on the hilt. The cord pooled around him in a twisted mass before he finally caught the hilt of the blade, but this time he didn't bother to let it out again.

Kyuusuko's fingers grazed the wound. Blood covered his skin but he remained standing. The amount of blade Kage had needed to sacrifice to reach him had reduced a fatal injury to a flesh wound. It bled, and it was painful, but it wasn't lethal.

"HA! This is the best you can do? I can't believe they sent you to kill me, this is a joke." Kyuusuko shouted at him. He gathered his reishi around his shikai for a last bullet. With Kage doing the splits over the roof of the porch, he couldn't move to dodge. This was an easy shot. A light glow came from the barrel as the bullet formed and he reached down to cock the round.

"Wha-" he said with a grunt.

Kyuusuko looked down at his shikai. Trying to move the lever to cock his gun, the lever suddenly didn't want to move. Grabbing it with both hands, he tried to pull the stiff handle away from the hilt, but as hard as he tried it wouldn't budge. The more he tried, the heavier his breathing became and the more ragged it got. The next time he tried, he fell off balance and stumbled backwards. Tripping over his own sandals he fell back against the roof and slide down, falling off the roof and into a hedge of bushes before rolling out onto the lawn on his back.

Kage watched him fall without a grin, without a sense of satisfaction, but a cold stare. Pulling himself up to his feet he sealed his shikai again, the blade growing out as the cord recoiled into the hilt once more. Back on his feet again and with his zanpakuto sealed he jumped off the roof and landed in the street, walking casually across the rest of the way and standing over the fallen shinigami.

"You bastard" Kyuusuko spat between labored breath, "What did you do to me?"

Kage held his sword out over Kyuusuko in one hand, letting the moons light reflect off the edge into his face.

"It's a neurotoxin, very, very potent. It spreads through your bodys reishi to every muscles and paralyses you from head to toe. It stops you from moving pretty much anything but your mouth, eyes, fingers and toes, but it doesn't keep you from speaking, and it doesn't keep you from feeling." Kage explained to him. Kyuusuko could only stare up in horror as he faced his own mortality.

"Kaze, Kyuusuko, you are terminated, for your laziness as a member of squad 2 and a member of the Gotei 13. You're a liability, and that makes you a threat. A single weak point. And I'm here to fix it." he told him as he lifted his zanpakuto high in the air. Without another word and before Kyuusuko could argue anymore, he brought it down in a wide vertical arc in an incomplete circle. With a flash after it passed over him, Kage reversed the blade and gripped it with both hands, driving it down into his chest, through his head and into the ground.

Kyuusuko's eyes were frozen wide in suprise, pain, and fear as he yelled out. But no sound came. Moments later, a slash opened in his neck, pouring out blood on either side of his neck as both arteries and his larnyx had been severed in the previous slash. Paralyzed as he was, his body didn't even twice as his heart struggled around the impaling blade until it finally stopped altogether. Moments later, the life left his eyes and Kage reached down, brushing them closed with two fingers.

He withdrew his blade and wiped off the blood on Kyuusuko's clothes before he sheathed it and covered the hilt in his robes. Turning away, he picked up his zanpakuto, already returned to his sealed form by the death of its owner. As much as he knew he shouldn't feel for him, Kage made sure to clasp Kyuusuko's hands around his zanpakuto before he left the body there and made his way back to Uraharas shop.

Kage wasted no time in returning. He used his shunpo to cover the distance in seconds and a minimal number of steps. Carefully pushing open the door so he wouldn't wake anyone that was sleeping he walked back over to his seat. Sitting down just as he was before he left he did his best to make it look like he'd never left. Of course, now even he himself needed a bit of rest. The fight and finding him in the first place had been taxing, so he was looking forward to it. Leaning back he lowered his head and closed his eyes. As he settled in his hand rested on the hilt of his zanpakuto, and in the moments before he fell asleep he could hear Gleams voice echoing in the back of his thoughts.

"I'm proud of you, Kage."

Dawn was breaking over Karakura Town. Cars began rolling along the asphalt roads, teenagers began rolling out of bed and heading to school, and Ken had woken up from his slumber.

He was sitting on top of Urahara's shop, watching the light of the sun peek over mountains and bathe everything in it's warm glow. There was a light mist in the air, which made the air seem as though it was made of diamonds in the light. To ken, this was calming, so he decided to take a morning stroll through the city.

However, to Ken, a morning stroll included rocketing across the horizon using his Wind Jump technique.

"Wake up Ryukiba! Its time to go for a 'stroll'! Hahaha!" Ken laughed to himself as his Zanpakto grew into its true form. Ken built up pressure underneath his feet. Once he felt the pressure reach an apex, Ken blasted off of the roof of the shop and soared through the morning sky.

"YAAAAHOOOO!" Ken yelled as his robes fluttered in the wind while he flew over Karakura Town.

Ken landed on the roof of the high school where one of the hollows was slain. Ken sat down on the roof and observed the students walking to class along the sidewalk.

Ken noticed that there was a group of girls being followed by a nerdy looking boy.

"Lets give that poor guy a little gift!" Ken slowly extended his arm and pointed at the group of women. He focused his reshi on a point on the pavement where the girls would walk over. When the girls were in position, Ken lifted his arm up in one swift motion and wind blew up the girls skirts.

The boy who was following the girls stopped and stared at the spectacle in front of him and began to blush, as well as get a nosebleed.

The girls quickly ran out of Ken's trap and got control of their upturned skirts.

Ken giggled to himself and stood up. The school bell rang which signified the end of Ken's fun.

"Hehehe! Lets go Ryukiba! There's more fun to be had elsewhere." Ken spoke to his Zanpakto.

Ken prepared another Wind Jump beneath him and launched across the town once more...

Aoshi found himself surrounded by shadows, unknown shapes of infinite horror that beckoned him closer to oblivion as if in their embrace would he find both unending sorrow and absolute peace. What do you fear young mortal. Is it death? Dismemberment? Suffering? Sorrow? We'll have all the time in the world to find out won't we? the darkness said, it's voice coming from everywhere with no point of origin. "Cut the shit Maindo Setsudan Naitomea, you brought me here for a reason other than to try to terrorize my mind. What did you want to talk about?"

"You just have to cut the fun out of everything don't you Aoshi," the newcomer shouted out as the shadows faded away causing the true landscape of his zanpakuto's inner world to form, a dark wasteland populated by a nightmarish castle that stood ominously in the distance. "I go out of my way to give you scare and you just dismiss it like it was nothing?"
"What do you want from me? Shock? Fear? I thought training with you would have made me basically immune to that so what is it you wanted to talk about?" The spectre walked across the ruined field beckoning Aoshi to follow with a wave of it's hand leading up to the castle and through it dark maw, a place he had yet to travel to.

Moving for an unknown period of time, the spectre led him to a door simple yet perfect in design. The door, forged of ghost wood had a single kanji on it, Unfound. "You are powerful Aoshi, be it from your kido or my release, however this power may soon not be enough. A storm is coming, something I fear you lack the strength to stand against it."

Pausing for a moment, Maindo Setsudan Naitomea walked forward and placed one of his hands on the door. " Behind this door lies my true power, your true potential. Until you are prepared to face me, to face your true fear, this door will remain closed. Go now, today is a new day and you need to be on your guard." Opening his eyes, he noticed Kage return to the shoten. I wonder where he went? Stretching his legs, he opened the door to the Shoten to seek out a secluded place to practice.

Brad awoke from his trance, a strange chill ran down his spine, not being able to feel a member of his team's spirit pressure, but he had also sensed a Hell Butterfly in the area, so he just thought he was called back home.

"Its good to see you awake." Urahara commented, looking over at the young Soul Reaper, knowing the real truth, but keeping it to himself.

"Yea, Its good to be back, But no time to rest anymore." Brad said, standing up and holstering his blade.

"Comon guys, Time to look around the town, lets move!" Brad said, clapping his hands.

'after we look around, we should meet here, bar anything hapening of corse...' Brad thought.

Tatsuo stayed on the roof, hugging his zanpakuto to his chest. This was the part he always feared most. Meditation, where Melchsee was in full control. He didn't really need sleep, but he needed to meditate or be consumed by his power. He sighed and gave in to the need, slipping into the darkness...
_______________________
Tatsuo slowly approached the throne in that black castle of Melchsee. He stood stock still as he felt the pure evil miasma of Melchsee surround him as he appeared on the throne. "So..." he purred. "How have you liked my powers?" Tatsuo said nothing and showed no emotion. Melchsee sighed. "Tell me, when are you gonna grow some balls?" He shook his head as he stepped down in front of Tatsuo. He lashed forwards with his claws, black wings buffeting Tatsuo. Quick as thought, Tatsuo drew his sword and brought it up to block. They continued this deadly dance, blocking, attacking, withdrawing and closing together, often as a single being. As much as each hated the other, they worked perfectly in tandem. The last blow sent both of them apart. Tatsuo breathed heavily. Melchsee shook his head. "You can't even handle 10% of my power. How on earth do you plan on dealing with bankai? You won't make it in ten thousand years at this rate." Tatsuo spat out blood as Melchsee returned to his throne. "Still, you did do well today..." Melchsee mused. He looked down at Tatsuo like an elephant to an ant. "Very well. I will continue to lend my powers. If I don't, you'll probably end up killing us both anyways." Dark energy swirled around Tatsuo as the dream world disappeared.
______________________
Tatsuo woke up with a gasp as he heard Brad give his orders. Tatsuo stood up, slightly shaky, to carry out his superior's orders.

Kage managed to drift back off to sleep, but it felt more like a passing thought before he was jerked awake again by the loud clapping and voices in the room. He winced at the noise and rubbed his eyes.

"Ah, jeeze, come on. It's too early..." he said as he cracked an eye open. Everyone else was already up and about, so grudgingly he pried himself up out of the chair. He yawned and stretched before walking straight over to Urahara.

"Uh...hey. Thost pill you gave me yesterday, is there any chance that you might have another one laying around?" he asked. Urahara smiled at him and extended his hand with one of the small pills in his palm.

"You had a busy night, I thought you could use another." he said, which Kage gladdly took and swallowed without a second thought. Like a full meal he felt the warm feeling spread through his body. It wasn't the same as a full nights sleep, but it was the best thing to it.

"Thanks." Kage told him before walking back over to Brad, "Alright, I'm up. Where to next, fearless leader?"

"Where to look around the town, at the spots where the humans disapeared from." Brad said, bringing up a ditigtal map from his phone.

"Theres 4 main spots I want to check out, The school, the docks, the TV station, and I wnat to check out the hospital from last night again, somthings not sitting easy with me." Brad said, remembering the hollow from last night.

"Sense whats his name from Squad 2 is gone, guess he just got sick of this mission and went home, who knows." Brad said, truley not knowing what happened to his team mate.

"So that means where a man down, but it makes it easier, being that theres 8 of us left, so where spliting into teams of two, Kage, you and Evela will go to the docks, Jason and Brandon, you take the TV station, Ken and Abhiryu, check out the school, and Aoshi and I will head back to the hospital, head out once your ready, and if any hollows attack you, engage if they are not too strong, and then report in, and if you cant take it, call for backup, the closest team will assist." Brad said, pointing to each location as he told his team the details.

"Good luck everyone, report in if you see anything or sense anything."
