Aoshi glanced at Brad and sweatdropped at his facepalm. I wonder what could have made our calm leader do that? Did someone reveal our presence or something. "Everything ok Brad, you look like you've been jolted with some kind of massive stupidity," he said as he scratched the back of his head. If this was the town that produced Ichigo, you would think there would be more spiritual aware people miling about though I suppose that's why we were ordered to come here and watch them. Closing his eyes, he let his senses spread out hoping to find someone, anyone that was spiritually aware.

"Yea, ken brought a human to the shop..." Brad sighed, looking as the wind blew a single flower pedal around.

"Well." Brad clapped.

"Thers nothing here, we should head back." He said, looking over at Aoshi.

"Comeon, I have a feeling that Ken and Kage found somthing." He said, begining to flash step twords the shop.

'I cant tell Aoshi what im planing, not untel everyone is together...' he thought to himself.

'If im senseing what im sensing, then we have to go... to the land of hollows...' he thought.

'but we need more power to do that... I have to achieve it tonight...'

"Kage, I have my reasons for bringing her here. For one, you know that there are reports of people like her being kidnapped. So what better place to keep her safe than with us!?" Ken Spat as he jerked his arm away from the Shinigami. "Eventually she is going to be targeted, and when that happens I don't want her to be like a helpless sheep! So I'm just gonna show her how to use her power to protect herself."

Suddenly, a new reishi appeared in ken's senses. A hollow had appeared. What!? A hollow!? Why now!?

"Uh...KEN! HELP!" Kari screamed from outside the shop.

"Are you fucking kidding me!?" Ken growled as he rushed past Kage and out of the shop. An Enormous hollow had appeared outside the shop and had its sights set on Kari

"Kari! Get back!" Ken Roared as he got between Kari and the Hollow. Wind swirled around Ken as he released Ryukiba.

"Looks like my lucky day! A shinigami AND a delicious mortal! Hraaaah!" The hollow lashed out at ken with his massive paw and sent him crashing into the wooden fence that runs parallel to the shop. Ken smashed right through the fence and landed in the grass on the other side.

"Damn that hurt!" Ken groaned as he got back on his feet.

"Not much of a Soul reaper are you?" The hollow taunted as it moved in on Kari.

"No! AAAAAH!" Kari screamed as she covered her head in fear. The hollow opened its mouth for the kill but instead of flesh, there was steel pushing back. That soul reaper was holding him off.

"Kari! I said run!" Ken howled as he tried to hold back the massive hollow with Ryukiba. "KAGE! I Can't take this guy alone!!!"

Ken ran outside when the girl screamed, but Kage could tell what it was just as much as Ken could. A hollow, right here, right now.

That fool is endangering everything here

Kage turned on the spot and walked out towards the door from the back of the shop. At this point, with his frustration from the squad 11 shinigami having lured a hollow back to the shop, his patiance was gone. And with it, any feelings of sympathy for the plus-turned hollow outside.

Through the window in the door, he could already see it. Quadrapedal with a tail, armored joints and bone claws. All in all, this was a rather standard grade hollow. With this being his second day back in the real world, he already felt like he had a handle on these hollows. The greater hollow in the park, and lesser hollows that flooded the city, and now this. However, he also saw it brush the squad 11 reaper aside like he was a bug. As strong as the squad 11 guys were, this hollow had to be something.

With each step he took towards the door and the rampaging hollow his spiritual power rose. As he released it, the reishi around him grew thicker. Something inside him felt different. After the assassination order, he hadn't quite felt the same. Taking a life like that...it left a cold feeling in him. The same cold feeling he felt when he was around Gleam. It was...scary, terrifying, and at the same time liberating. Inside this feeling, he felt invicible, and nothing else mattered.

Reaching over inside his robes, his fingers curled around the hilt of his zanpakuto. There was that feeling, stronger now. He gripped it tightly and drew the blade slowly while his other hand pressed on the door. The little bell over his head let out a soft *ding-ding* as the door opened with a small squeak. The hollow outside turned at him and snarled, licking its long fangs.

"Another one? And you feel even more delicious. All that reishi dripping off you, you must have tremendous power. Once I eat you I'll be able to go for weeks before I have to slaughter another one of you."

Kage stepped forward and let go of the door. It closed slowly, the piston on it letting out a constant *hiss* as it drew itself shut once more. He held his blade out to the side, letting the sun reflect off it into the hollows face. He looked up at the hollow with the brilliant streak over its mask until the latch for the door went *click*.

"I don't think so. It was foolish to come here. You had to have felt more than one source of spiritual power. You had to know it was more than you could handle." Kage said as he reached into his pocket with his free hand. He pulled out the peice of red cloth, still damp with the salty seawater. Pinching it between two fingers, he held it up.

"Does this look familiar to you? Were you responsable for this?" He asked, keeping his position. He didn't move, neither did the hollow. As far as the girl was concerned, Kage didn't care in the least, and the hollow had its attention elsewhere.

"What is that? A peice of...OH! OH HO HO HO, yesssss, I remember. A human, very much spiritual energy. Delicious...didn't even fight back. I enjoyed taking my time with that one." the hollow lamented as he cackled menacingly.

Kage's fingers curled into a fist around the peice of cloth, "Consider it your last meal. Today is your execution!"

The reishi around him concentrated as he used his shunpo. In an instant he brought himself right in front of the hollows face, faster than the speed of light. The hollow didn't even know what struck it. One moment, he was staring down at a soul reaper, and the next...A gash across his mask along the same streak of light that had been reflecting off that reapers sword. The hollow howled out and reeled back, nearly falling over on itself. The wound was superficial, but the fear it inspired had far more impact.

"Wh-what was that!?" the hollow exclaimed as it reached up with one of its clawed paws, touching the scratch on its mask. Shallow as it was, Kage made his point. But the hollow didn't buy it.

"This? Well, you're FAST, but if this is all the power you can muster, you might want to try harder to at least be entertaining." it told him as it recoverd, moving back onto all fours. Still clutching the red cloth in his hand, he wrapped it around the hilt of his zanpakuo, firmly grasping it in both.

"I'm not even trying yet. COME ON!" He yelled back at the beastial hollow. It was more than happy to ablidge as it opened its mouth wide and rushed him. Rather than go for the bite though, it struck forward with one of its paws, the claws reflecting the sun off their bleached surfaces like white hot spikes. Kage quickly dropped his sword and inverted it, widening his stance as he held it in one hand and slid the other down the back of the blade to the tip. The edge caught between two of the hollows fingers and stopped its strike with one claw barely inches from his face. The force was tremendous though as Kage slid back across the sidewalk, gathering reishi behind him to help push back but to no avail.

"RRRRRR...you're stronger than you look...shinigami...I'm going to enjoy eating you..." the hollow spat out between gritted teeth. Kage held it off as long as he could before using the gathered spiritual power behind him and surging forward, throwing the hollows paw off his blade and making it stumble backwards.

"I'm a lot of things. Strong is only one of them." he said as he moved his zanpakuto off to the side in one hand again. The red cloth that remained in his hand clung to his skin, but the next thing he did was let it go. Casting aside the last remanant of that human, he also cast aside his moderation.

"I'm also a predator. And that makes you prey." Kage told the hollow, narrowing his eyes as he moved his sword up over his head, horizontal with the blade pointed at the beast. Reaching forward with his other hand and holding his palm facing the hollow, he spread his stance, making himself ready for whatever the hollow threw at him.

"Guh, man, what is this guy made of?" Ken moaned as he lifted himself off the ground. Dust and dirt staining his once white robes. The hollow had used him to make another hole in the fence in the time it took Kage to get outside and encounter the beast.

"Ken! Ken! Keeen! Do you need some help?" Ryukiba's voice echoed in Ken's head. "You seem to be getting knocked around quite a bit."

"Nah, I got this." Ken grunted as he began to gather his reishi and compressing the air around him into disks for his Razor Wind technique. Ken leaped over the fence and High into the air.

RAZOR WIND!!! The discs of compressed air rocketed toward the hollow. The discs didn't cause much of an effect though. Many of them bounced off the monster's armor while others made light scratches in his shiny white torso. The monster seemed not to even notice his attack though. Ken landed beside Kage and Faced the monster.

"Man, what does it take to get through this guy!?" Ken breathed as he held Ryukiba in a reverse grip infront of his chest.

"Hahahaha! Is this all the power you can muster? Well, This is most certainly a disappointment. I expected more after hearing all the rumors about how powerful the soul society is. Haha! WHAT A JOKE!?" While the beast talked he quietly slipped his barbed tail into the ground and burrowed into the ground. "Well? Soul Reapers? Do you have any questions before you die!?"

"One." Ken spat. "Why are the hollows going after the Humans? Don't they usually just eat the souls of the dead?"

"Heh, Thats it? Thats all you wish to ask before I KILL YOU!? GRAAAAH!" The hollow roared as his tail whipped up from underneath the Shinigami. The tail sent earth everywhere and Wrapped itself around Kage's upper body, locking his arms to his sides and lifting him into the air and knocking his Zanpakto away. It clattered to the ground at the base of the steps next to Kari.

Ken was knocked off his feet by the tail as well but quickly recovered as he saw Kage Lifted into the air.

"Hahaha! That was too easy! You forgot about my tail!" The hollow laughed as his tail constricted Kage.

"Yeah, but you forgot about me!" Ken bellowed as he jumped and sliced at the tail. Ryukiba merely glanced off the tail, doing no damage. "What!?"

"Did you think your butter knife could cut through my armor!? HA! Your friend is doomed! HAHAHA!" The hollow laughed...

Kage kept his stance and his focus on the hollow. Any move it made, he was ready to take it on. Frontal strike, he would block. Cero he would shield. Rush he would dodge. No matter what this hollow did, he was ready for it.

Out of the corner of his eye though, several discs thigh with reishi came flying across the hollows body. They bounced off, leaving naught but a scratch. But they did get its attention. They got Kages attention as well as they both looked over. The other shinigami leapt into the fight, in classic squad 11 fashion, and started bantering at the hollow. Kage's frustration rose just being close to him as he blocked most of it out. But his focus on ignoring the other shinigami cost him.

Exploding from under the ground the hollows tail wrapped around his body, pinning his arms at his side and yanking him off the ground. The shock and compression around his chest made it impossible to breathe at first, and in his shock his zanpakuto fell from his hand bouncing across the street before coming to rest in the gutter. Hoisted high into the air, held over the hollows body like a bug caught on the end of a scorpions sting.

"Aug...let me...go..." Kage spat out as he tried to breathe. The constriction of the tail was crushing him every time he tried to take in breath. Inch by inch the tail was squeezing the life out of him. Squirming and fighting, he tried to push his way out. The air around him was still thick with reishi, pushing with his movements to boost his strength. But to no avail.

The other shinigami was trying to help out as well, slashing at the tail, but the strength was pathetic. Kage could only watch as his blade bounced off with barely a scratch and send him flying backwards. Thrashing about in the tails hold he finally had enough and glared down at the beast.

"Doomed? I don't need Gleam to show you the light..." He said under his breath. The reishi around him spiralled in close to his body and concentrated at his hands. Balled up in fists he took several breaths as deep as he could, baring his teeth before he yelled out at the hollow. The moment his mouth opened, his hands did as well, spreading his fingers as wide apart as they could go.

"HADO #5: BYAKURAI DANMAKU: PALE LIGHTNING BARRAGE!!!"

Lightning arced from every fingertip down at the hollow. Ten bolts of pure reishi energy struck the hollow at multiple points and coursed over is body. They crossed and forked, wrapping around limbs, penetrating his armor and moving underneath it as the electricity ravaged its whole body. The damage was minimal, severe burns at most, but the pain, the pain was unimaginable as the hollows cries echoed over the city.

Brad watched as Kage started to hurt this "unhurtable" hollow, and needless to say, Brad was quite impressed.

"For someone so young, and just out of school no less, to fight hollows this well is impressive." Brad said to himself.

Brad jumped down next to the level of Kage and the rest of the beings there.

"Mind if I help kage?" Brad said, not waiting for a responce to form his own Byakurai Danmaku and continued to shock the beast.

"Ken, the thing started the fight agenst you! Finish it when you can!" Brad yelled.

"Royal Decree of Execution!"
Tatsuo looked for everywhere the lightning had struck the beast. Like a twin flash, Tatsuo would strike where he saw a lightningbolt had penetrated the armor and slashed with his zanpakuto, disappearing everytime the Hollow tried to swat him down. He finally skidded backwards out of one last portal, lining him up with Brad. "Bastard! Hit me!" Tatsuo roared. He was waiting for the moment the beast would try to swipe at him. He would use Melchsee's Sword and claim that arm as his.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I couldn't really find a way to insert myself into the story.

"GWAAAAAAR!!! You Hurt me! Now I'm Pissed!!!" The Beast Roared at the group of shinigami that appeared. The mad beast swung its tail and threw Kage at Brad. The pair collided hard and fell to the ground.

"Grrr. This isn't good! That thing has withstood everything we've thrown at it!" Ken groaned as he got up.

"You! The hollow seethed as it turned to face Ken. "Before I die, I will be SURE to kill you!" The hollow lunged at ken but stopped just short and grabbed Ken by his head and lifted him into the air. Ken frantically stabbed at the massive hand but Ryukiba just couldn't pierce it.

"Say good bye to the world! Gyahahaha!" The hollow giggled as he prepared to put his entire life force into one attack. "Take this! LIFE ECLIPSING DETONATION! " The hollow's entire body began to shine with a bright silver light.

"Shit Shit shit shit shit!" Ken swore as the light grew brighter. All of the shinigami were blinded. They couldn't see anything, but they could definitely hear.

A piercing "NOOOOOO!!!!!" Could be heard echoing through the city followed by a deafening explosion that sent most of the shinigami flying back onto the dirt.

The explosion sent dust about twenty feet in the air. A lot of coughing could be heard from every direction in the smokescreen as the shinigami tried to clear their lungs. Their Hearing recovered much quicker than a mortals since they are dead.

When the dust finally settled, the scene was unlike anything the Shinigami had seen before. There was a massive crater around where the hollow once stood. But there were two figures still standing there. Kari Was standing there holding Kage's Zanpakto in a guarding position while ken was behind her lying on the ground, staring at her. A Spherical purple barrier, crackling with spiritual energy, had formed around Ken and Kari and protected them from the blast.

"K-k-k-Kari!? Did you do that!?" Ken stuttered as he failed to comprehend what his friend had done.

"hah hah hah. Yeah, I think I did. Remember when you said that to unlock my power I had to focus my heart and soul into it? All I could think about was saving you from that monster, and I think this sword helped a bit too. Ah!" Kari fell to her knees and then slumped over onto the ground from exhaustion. She had spent alot of Reishi when she saved Ken. The barrier dissolved as she fell asleep on the ground.

"Its alright, just rest for a bit." Ken smiled warmly as he got up and moved over to her. He picked her up and walked over to the rest of the Shinigami who were still recovering from the blast. "I hope you understand now, Why I decided to bring her back."

Kage continued his barrage at the beastial hollow, electrocuting it until finally it had to let it go. More shinigami had shown up, and true to his word, Kage had shown it that it was foolish to come here.

The beast howled out in pain and spat its defiance out before it finally whipped its tail and released him. Kage flew through the air at Brad, colliding with him and tumbling over the ground with him. It was a short tumble though as he came to rest on top of him, but he didn't linger, picking himself up and rising to his feet. He may not have had his zanpakuto, but he still had energy to spare.

The hollow moved away though, lunging at the squad 11 reaper. For the first time since he met him though, the shinigami lived up to his squad 11 position, grabbing the hollow and throwing it around with nothing but brute strength. After throwing it around a bit he started to chip away at its head, but the hollow chose to end its own life and take everyone with him.

Kage put his hands in front of him, gathering his energy to shield himself, but there wasn't time. The hollow flared and exploded with enough force to throw him back against uraharas shop. The window behind him cracked but didn't give as clouds of dusk billowed around him. The reishi he'd gathered helped to soften the blow somewhat though and he recovered quickly. Peering through the dust, he saw the crater left behind by the hollow and what was inside it.

A transparent purple globe of concentrated reishi, held up by that girl...holding his sword. All exhaustion left his body as he narrowed his eyes at her. A human was able to release that kind of power, and all because of what that shinigami had done. And with his sword. Marching forward with a scowl on his face he climbed over the edge of the crater and slid down the sides down to the bottom. He was met halfway though as that shinigami picked up the girl and carried her back to the group.

"I hope you understand now, Why I decided to bring her back." he said to all of them, though it felt like he was addressing Kage directly. Kage reached forward and snatched his zanpakuto back harshly, glaring at the squad 11 reaper.

"You have no idea what you've done." he said, brandishing his blade and pointing it at Ken for a moment, "No fucking clue." he added before he sheathed his blade in a single, quick stroke. The guard smacked hard against the scabbard before he yanked his robes back over the hilt and turned on his heel, climbing back out of the crater. He didn't even stop to see if the others were alright, walking straight back to the shop. A quick jerk and he pulled the door open, and another jerk and he slammed it closed, hard enough that the piston on the screen door popped and snapped in half, the rod bouncing off the walls inside hard enough to be heard outside.

Brad shook off the explosion, a little dazed and a few cuts here and there, but overall he was fine, his ears where ringing, but he could hear Kage yelling, and a door slaming.

'That girl... kage seems pissed about her, i better go talk to him." Brad thought, looking at the girl, then running into the building.

"Kage, whats wrong, you ok?"

Kage stood in the middle of the room for several moments, doing his best to collect his thoughts. Things moved so fast in the last few minutes that he couldn't think. He'd been running on instinct and adrenaline. In fact he only vaguely remembered what was going on just moments ago, but he remembered enough. The door opened and slammed shut behind him, what with it being broken now. Looking back over his shoulder, he acknowledged that Brad was there, but that was it.

"Kage, whats wrong, you ok?" Brad asked. Kage scoffed at him.

"Yeah, I'm fine...no, no I'm not fine." he said, turning on his heel, "What the hell are we doing out here? This mission has been screwed up from the get go. First off, it's a mission thrown together with members just randomly picked from different squads at different levels. If that wasn't enough, there's the sheer number of them. Shinigami act alone or in pairs unless on a certain rank mission. There was the rampant cleaner in the dangai, the baited hollow, not to mention the orders that have come down, both the ones that we've been given and the ones held back. And the only one that seems to know anything of what's going on is you."

Kage glared at Brad, narrowing his eyes to slits as he looked through his pupils as if to stare into his very soul.

"And now we have a human girl, and a shinigami teaching her to be the new start to the next quincy line standing right outside this shop. I shouldn't need to explain to you of all people what that means. So you tell me what's going on, really going on, and I'll tell you if I'm 'ok' or not." Kage said sternly, unmoving and unblinking as he waited for an answer.

Brad sighed, sitting down in a nearby chair.

"Fine Kage, heres the truth, But i want you to keep it between us." Brad said, looking into Kage's eyes.

"I was told to give you that story about looking for missing humans, that was a sub mission." He sighed once more.

"Our real mission was to see who was behind the missing humans, the head captian suspects it was Aizen, but i dont sense any Arancar energy here... yet, we where told if it was not any arancars, we wher to head into there world." the young leader said, he could feel Izanagi sigh from inside the sword, knowing that Brad was having a hard time lying to his team member, but now hes telling the truth.

"Thats the reason the team was so big, because if we are to go into Huacho Mundo, we will need a big team to fight off the hollows there, But i do know this." Brad said, standing up.

"There is a powerful being behind this, it might not be Aizen, but it is something damn strong, If i had to guess... It was a Vasto Lordus, and I saw a human hand come from that hollow with the bait in it yesterday, i couldent tell if it was the hollow itself or just a snack it had, but it sent a chill up my spine."

"Kage, You have shown a lot of improvement sense i read your report, You have a knack for battle, I want you to be my second in command when we go to the hollow's world, You think with your head, not your sword, and we need that over there."

"And as for the girl, shes going to have to stay here untel we find the being that sent the cleaner after us, that may have been the leader of whatever the hell this is, and kill it, because if we dont, she will be kindnapped next."

"I answered what you needed to know, so now Kage Neko, do you trust me?"

<spoiler=OOC>Well shit, I do homework for a few days, and look what happens, I get completely lost and stay asleep.

help?

Evela finished writing the song down, "Ah good, this will easily make me a large sum of money." he said half greedily and half jokingly. He put it away somewhere safe on his person, then turned around. "Where did that guy say he was going?" he asked himself.

He thought long and hard about it, but could not bring up where he should go, all he could remember was the song in his head. "Shit..." he said quietly to himself.

Kage remained standing even after Brad took a seat. Finally he'd been able to drag something out of him, and fir the first time in a while he felt a bit more at ease. This didn't explain his orders to take out the other squad 2 shinigami though, which meant that Brad still didn't know about that. That meant that he wasn't involved. Those orders had come from higher up.

His expression softened somewhat, losing the jaded appearance as he reached up and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"I see, so that's why there's so many of us. Soifon was right, we're all here because we're expendable. If you're going to advance with pawns, use them all. But arrancar? We know that Aizen escaped to the hollow world, but that doesn't mean that there are arrancar. There haven't been arrancar for over a hundred years. The last ones created were because of..." Kage trailed off and nodded towards the back of the shop, "...him, and he took them out of the soul society and took them here, and he took whatever it was he used, some orb device from the research and development institute."

Walking towards the back of the shop, he leaned back against a wall right at the doorframe.

"As for whether I trust you, the answer is no. Barring the fact that you hid this from us and almost got us killed on multiple occasions, this mission is still far outside the normal operations of the gotei 13. You still didn't answer why they grabbed a hodge podge group of random reapers from half the squads instead of using a single squad team that would operate far more efficiently. Things here still don't add up. So I don't trust you yet, no, but I am a bit more open to the idea. Just one question..."

Kage stood up again and walked over in front of the sitting shinigami.

"Why are you not telling the others this? Your orders aside, because I suspect you didn't tell me all of them, we have the right to know what we're up against, otherwise you're willingly throwing us to the wolves without a chance to prepare. If you want to believe that this mission has a chance in hell of succeeding, we need to be prepared. That means more than training." Kage explained to him, imparting a bit of his knowledge from squad 2.

"We need to have a rough idea of what we're going up against and how to take it down, the territory we're going into, and the consequences if it fails. I can only assume that the consequences will be grave, but even so if it's that bad, I don't know why they sent us. Regardless though, they deserve to know, and you need to tell them."

With that, Kage stopped talking, turning his back on Brad and walking away. He didn't leave the room though, simply walking over by the check out counter and leaning against it, keeping an eye on the default 'leader' of the group.

"Kage, I was ordered not to tell the others, hell, i was ordered not to tell you too, but I need your tactics to help us when we get in there, And for the reason we have all different members here, it is because we need different abilities and strengths." Brad explained once more.

"Captain Soi Fon knew you would be able to grow with this team, she has a lot of promise in you, like Miss Yoruichi saw in her. And i believe she is right." The leader continued.

"Every member of this group has somthing intresting about them, Kaze withstanding, i guess that they desided that he needed to come home."

"I guess they figured that Sense im one of the few Lightning Zanpaktuo users, I should go on here too, Captian Ukitaki put me forth himself, if that means anything."

"And on to the place where heading, Ive never been, but from what ive heard, its a endless desert, hollows should be around there, but i heard they gather into clusters from time to time to get stronger, so where just going to go there, find out what we need to find out, and get out. I dont know if that helps any."

Tatsuo's eyes widened as he realized what the hollow was about to do. So he did something he had never done before: He stayed in Melchsee's realm, instead of warping though. He shivered as the portal reopened, dumping him unceremoniously to his shaky feet. He shook his head like a dog and surveyed the damage. "I never want to have to do that again." He thought. He sighed as he looked at the girl. He had studied abnormal reshi types and levels due to his zanpakuto. That was one of the reaasons he had been picked for this trip. He stalked over to the girl and began to inspect her, find out what was so different. "Damn..." He swore. "I heard that the humans here had high levels, but for cryin' out loud, this girl has more power than most Shinigami!" He muttered to himself.

Jason looked over at Brandon, "I say we split up and search our own half's of the building. We can get done quicker this way, and get back to Urahara's shop before we're missed."

Without waiting for a reply, Jason leaped down from the building and landed very silently on the ground below. He then crossed the street and entered the TV shop, choosing to take the left half of the building.

"Hey Brandon! I got the left side!" Jason called out, opening a door and going into another part of the shop, something that appeared to be a warehouse. Jason heard rattling inside the warehouse, and before he could even react, a Hollow had sent him flying into a rack of boxes. He brushed himself off

Jason didn't usually use Hado or Bakudo, but now would be his one exception. Jason raised his arm aimed towards the Hollow.

"Hado 31, Shakkaho!" Jason said, a large orb of red energy glowing brightly in Jason's palm. Jason fired the orb, which was now speeding towards the Hollow. The Hollow let out a large hiss, but dodged the orb easily, jumping into the air and falling back down with a crash that sent Jason flying backwards into another row of TV's. Pieces of plastic flew up into the air, along with a little bit of dust, and Jason's world spun before his eyes, but for the moment he was gone from all of that...

--------------------

Jason's eyes opened, but he was no longer inside of the building were the Hollow had thrown him. He was in some sort of passageway that led to an enormous gate. He was no longer wielding his Zanpakuto, and he was alone, no Hollow, no humans passing by on the street, just the silence of the seemingly empty cavern.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" Jason called out, walking towards the gate as he examined the large carvings. The only thing that cut through the silence was the constant bubbling of what sounded like lava. As Jason approached the door, he heard something else, the scrabbling of claws on limestone. Jason's mind yearned to know what was behind those doors, and nothing was about to stop him.

He continued towards the gate, his hand outstretched as he drew closer. He was only a few feet away when suddenly, he was thrown backwards, flames scorching everything around him. He flew backwards slamming into the ground and bouncing until he rolled to a stop at least a hundred feet away. Jason grunted, and tried to push himself to his feet, but failing. He instead fell back onto his back and cringed. He wanted to shout aloud, angry at himself for not being able to open the gates when a sudden hissing noise roused him from his anguish.

Jason glanced to the right to see a large snake slithering towards were he lay. Jason sighed, closing his eyes as the snake drew closer.

"I should have known that you were behind this Ryūsei... how many times is this?" Jason asked, listening as the snake curled up around him and chuckled.

"This would be the tenth time... you would think that by now you would have learned your lesson. You aren't yet strong enough to open those gates... you should learn well from this Jason. You need to train harder if you wish to know what lies beyond those gates." The snake chuckled in a deep rasping voice.

"Quiet... I understand that and you should know how much I have trained and how hard I have tried to achieve what is beyond those gates..." Jason said, his eyes fluttering open as he pushed himself up and laid against Ryūsei's scales.

"You don't think that I may be curious as to what is behind those doors? I must wait just as long as you must to know as well..." The snake said bitterly, a hiss coming out with the sentence.

"Calm yourself... we just need to think. Coming here and fighting all of these Hollow has made me a bit stronger... now if we can just keep this up, we should have this gate open in no time." Jason said in an undertone.

"Well then... you have some training to do don't you?" Ryūsei hissed, closing his body in around Jason, who quickly found himself falling into black-nothingness...

--------------------

Jason awoke in the warehouse part of the shop, his eye bruised and a thin trickle of blood running down his head. He was still tightly gripping Ryūsei, but the dust had thinned just a bit. Jason got to his feet and immediately let his Zanpakuto and letting it release. Ryūsei lashed outwards, catching the hollow in a fiery grip. Jason tugged the blade slightly, and the Hollow flew at Jason, landing on its side inside the building. Jason ended the Hollow with a quick tug upwards on the hilt, splitting the Hollow smoothly in half.

He nodded, falling back down inside the building and taking a quick rest before beginning a slow trip back to Urahara's shop. He wondered how Brandon was faring in his battle, not having heard any sound of battle.

Ken held Kari in his arms and took her inside the shop. He saw Brad and Kage and walked over to them.

"Hey, Is there a bed anywhere around here? Also, Where on earth is Urahara!? This is his shop right? Shouldn't he be around?" Ken asked as he adjusted his grip on Kari.

How did she do it? Did the Zanpakto act as a catalyst to unleash that barrier?!

He couldn't argue with Brads answer, as convoluted as it seemed. He still thought it was wrong though, even if it wasn't a lie, it was a poorly thought out plan on the part of the Gotei 13. But there was little that could be done now.

The door gave a quiet *ding-ding* as it opened, getting Kage's attention and making him look over. It was that squad 11 shinigami, and the girl. The scowl that had left his face talking with Brad returned instantly, and his already taxed patiance started to wane once more.

"Hey, Is there a bed anywhere around here? Also, Where on earth is Urahara!? This is his shop right? Shouldn't he be around?" Ken asked as he adjusted his grip on Kari.

"Urahara's probably in the back, it is his shop afterall." Kage answered him in a very snide, matter-of-fact tone, "As far as a place for her to lay, I'm sure there are plenty of places she can rest. Back where you found her."

Kage nearly spat those last words out. Right now with his focus on Ken, even Gleam's words were drowned out in the turmoil in his head. That girl took my zanpakuto, USED MY SWORD, and still pulled out that much power...
