Brad could feel the harshness in Kage's words twords Ken and the girl.

"Kage, you know just as well as I do that she cant go home, now that shes... 'awake' to these powers." Brad said, standing up.

"Shes going to have to stay here when we leave untel where done with our mission, simple as that." He continued.

"And as soon as everyone gathers, where heading out, get ready everyone."

"Yeesh! Who pissed in your Cheerios?" Ken grimaced as he walked into a side room and found a cot. He gently set Kari down and examined her. She had long dark hair that came down to her shoulders. She wore a typical school Uniform with a medium length skirt. Her legs bore long socks up her calves and a pair of tennis shoes.

The amount of Power coming from this girl is insane! I was right to bring her back here, regardless of what Kage thinks.

Brad sighed, his statement ignored.

"Ken, you heard what I said right?" Brad asked.

"I get you where trying to do right, but she dident awaken to her power untel you got here, as far as we know, and that hollow was drawn here by her power, she has to stay here." Brad continued, looking at the girl now.

"Like it or not."

Evela kept scratching his head. "Oh man, ohmanohmanohman. He is going to be angry with me..." he said to himself, pacing back and forth across the room. "Wait!" he said as he stopped walking and raised a finger into the air, "Where was that Uchihara place? That place seemed important... Maybe he knew where everyone went." he said as he snapped his fingers. "That's where I should go!"

He picked up his Zanpaktu and flash stepped as quick as he could in the area where he thought that that man's shop was. He went straight past it twice before finding it properly. When he finally realised, he stood in front of it and knocked on the door. "Um, hello? Help?" he asked, hoping that his team were in there.

Obviously nothing he said was going to make a difference. Brad had made that clear enough. Ken took the girl off in another room to do...whatever, he honestly didn't care. But he wasn't going to stay in here for this.

"I'll be around." He told Brad before making for the door. Reaching out for it, he gathered reishi at his palm and pushed the door open forcefully. There was no way he could have known that the shinigami was was supposed to be assigned to was there, he figured it out though after he bowled him over.

"Oh, you finally caught up." he said, reaching down and grabbing him by his clothing, pulling him up again, "Not the quickest, are you?"

Ken walked back into the front of the shop where Ken and Brad were talking. Ken approached them and informed them on Kari's condition.

"Looks like she used up a lot of Reishi unlocking her powers so she's gonna be out for a while." ken sighed as he pulled a chair from the wall and sat down.

Kage took the time tp dust off and smooth out the spot where he'd grabbed Evelas clothes, though with Evela right there in front of him, he was stuck in the doorway. Of course, he was in Evelas way as well. Behind him though, he heard that squad 11 shinigami come back in, talking about that girl again. A blood vessel throbbed in his forehead, but there was nothing he could do about it right now. So he stepped back and gave squad 12 reaper a chance to get in, casting a scowl over at Ken in the meantime.

Ken noticed the scowl on Kage's face and instinctively felt that he had done something wrong, or that there was something wrong with Kage.

"Is something the matter Kage?" Ken asked with genuine concern in his voice.

Kage scoffed at him and walked out the door. With his temper, his spiritual pressure rose around him the reishi surrounding his body pushing it open without him laying a finger on it. Without answering his question, he left the shop and walked out into the street where the battle had raged moments before. Humans were gathering, why wouldn't they? A huge hole in the middle of the street, explosions and other loud noises. He only hoped they wouldn't turn their attention to this shop, though noting the cracked windows, that was a definite possibility. But Urahara had to be ready for the occasional human visit. Or at least he hoped so.

Ken got up and walked after Kage, pushing the screen door open with his hand rather than his Reishi . He didn't like it when people blew him off and ignored him.

"Hey! What's your deal!? I just asked whether you are okay or not!" Ken asked even louder than before. He ran over to where Kage was standing and faced him.

Kage turned around on the spot and glared over at Ken. His eyes narrowed into peircing slits for a moment before he spoke.

"Yes, I'm fine. As for my 'deal', you just don't seem to get it, do you? Let me ask you a very simple question that even someone from squad 11 should be able to answer: What is the one difference between me, you, Brad, Evela, that squad 10 guy, and that girl? I know it might be hard for you to figure out, so here, I'll help you: SHE'S HUMAN!" Kage told him loudly, not caring who heard or might even be listening.

Ken was dumbstruck by Kage's anger towards Kari. He knew that he would be met with some resistance about this, but flat out opposition was something that he was unprepared for. Kari had a power that would undoubtably attract hollows. She needed her power if she was going to survive.

"Her being human is exactly WHY i helped her! And I am damn sure I did the right thing!" Ken roared back.

Ken's agression towards him only fanned the flames of Kages temper. He held it back though even as Ken yelled at him, though that wouldn't last.

"No, you did NOT do the right thing! Humans DIE! That's what they do! And here you are with a particularly strong human trying to teach her how to use the spirtual power inside her to fight off hollows. You know what those are called? QUINCY!" Kage roared right back at him. His breathing got much deeper as he balled his hands into fists.

"Exactly what are you trying to do, bring back the whole quincy clan? There's a reason that they were wiped out, and in case you weren't keeping up on current events, one of them just got into the soul society and caused a rather large amount of damage, he and the other interlopers. And here you are, trying to make more as if having ONE quincy running around wasn't bad enough."

"SHUT UP! There is a HUGE difference between her and a GODDAMN QUINCY!!! You, my friend, seem to be confused on the definition of the word. Quincys only use Bow and Arrows. Quincys destroy hollows! Soul and all! SHE only knows how to create a Barrier! How could having the ability to defend yourself be a BAD THING!?" Ken couldn't believe how one sided Kage was, doesn't he know that all things, living or dead, have the right to fight to defend themselves!?

Kage had enough and rushed forward at Ken, grabbing him by the shoulder and pushing him back against the doorframe with a heavy *thud*. His spiritual pressure was growing as the reishi poured out around him.

"Just defending herself? Just defending herself and anyone else that happens to be in danger? I wouldn't expect someone from squad 11 to be any kind of a history buff, but here's a lesson for you. When the quincy were still in numbers and force, they thought the same thing. Hold off the hollows, protect the people until the shinigami could come and seal them. Then that wasn't enough, they started KILLING hollows instead of letting them be sealed, and nearly wiped out the SOUL SOCIETY as well as THEIR OWN WORLD! THAT is why there aren't any left, because we had to exterminate them before they did the same to themselves and took US with them. And now you're trying to start it all over again, you incouragable FOOL!"

Ken was getting angry, Kage was taking this all the wrong way. How could he not see, we are here to protect the Human world. If they display the ability to protect themselves from spiritual threats, then they deserve a fighting chance! The more Ken thought about this, the more Reishi he began to emit.

"My friend, you still don't see the point. She is not a Quincy. She is a target. SHE IS A TARGET! These abductions are happening to people like HER! If these humans with high spiritual pressures are allowed to disappear and die like you say, then we are no better than the Quincys. If we do nothing, THEN WE ARE CONDEMNING THESE PEOPLE AND CONDONING THEIR DEATHS!" Ken roared as his reishi built up to rival Kage's.

Kage snapped. His hand let go of Kens shoulder, replacing it instead with his arm across his throat. That arm occupied, his other reached down and grabbed the wrist of the arm he saw Ken holding his zanpakuto in, restraining it.

"I'm not your friend, and YOU are missing the point. We are not here to decide who lives and dies, we are here to guide the plus' back to the soul society. And that means we stop anything that disrupts that. That means hollows. And that means quincy. Put her back and let what happens happen. And be glad that I'm not calling for her execution along with all the other quincy." Kage stated coldly. As out of character as this rage felt, inside he could feel the glee coming from Gleam.

"Kack! Gahg Huck" Ken struggled to breath as Kage's arm cut off his wind pipe. Ryukiba! I need help! Ken called out to his Zanpakuto. Kage was emitting such a strong reishi that Ken couldn't push him off.

" Ken, you know what you have to do if you want my help... " Came the reply from the back of Ken's mind.

"You Really shouldn't threaten me...or maybe you should...Regard*gasp*less, she is here, and she can't return home, not yet... As for your arm on my throat, that has got to go... Ryukiba...Take Flight!" Ken rasped.

Before Kage's eyes, Ken transformed. His eyes became catlike and his Irises turned yellow. Kens ears contorted and became slanted and sharp at the tips. Fingernails turned to claws as well as his toenails. Finally, Ken's canine teeth grew over his lips and his tongue split into a fork.
Surprise gripped Kage for only a moment as Ken began to transform. This was new, and new was dangerous. He had no idea how to handle this new attack. The best option was to back off and re-evaluate.

The next moment, he was gone. Using his shunpo, Kage stepped from there at Kens throat clear across the street. Over such a short distance, he had the time to stand up again straight.

"What kind of beast are you..." Kage said as he reached into his robes and grabbed the hilt of his zanpakuto. As soon as his fingers grazed the cords that wrapped around the handle, his fingers prickled with Gleams excitement.

"Such power...I may only get one shot at this. Threat level is high, only option is destruction."

Ken, no, Ryukiba stepped forward and roared into the air. He didn't know where Kage had run to, but he had tried to threaten his master.

"KAGE!!! YOU TRIED TO HURT MY FRIEND!!! AND NOW I'LL MAKE YOU PAY FOR IT! GWOAAAAAAR!" Ken roared in a two tone voice. One voice was his, the other, Ryukiba.

"I'd like to see you try." Kage said plainly. Gleam's excitement was palpable, but Kage was thinking better of it. He knew what she wanted. She'd be beyond ecstatic for him to sink her into the other shinigami, just to get a drink of his spiritual power. But he wasn't about to do that. This...beast, was strong, but it didn't seem any brighter than its host, nor any faster. that gave him an idea.

"Let's see how you handle this!" he called out from across the street. He wanted this beasts attention. Drawing his hand away from his zanpakuto and holding his arms out to the side, he gathered his spiritual power.

"SPIDERS DANCE! BAKUDO #4: HAINAWA! CRAWLING ROPE!"

Kage clapped his hands together and then flung them apart. From both his palms stretched a yellow rope of concentrated reishi bound into a single cord. One hand thrust towards Ken, the other behind him. From the arm behind him the rope struck a concrete wall and embedded itself, anchoring firmly to the building. The other end, true to its name, lashed out at Ken like a viper, striking him like a whip and wrapping around whatever it could grab.

Kage wasn't done though. Using his shunpo, he suddenly stepped across the street. He landed with his hands already clasped together.

"HAINAWA!" he called out as he did the same thing again, binding another one of Kens limbs to Uraharas shop. He stepped again, and again, always to a different angle of attack.

"HAINAWA! HAINAWA! HAINAWA! HAINAWA!"

Each step he lashed out with another rope, Creating a web of reishi ropes with Ken at the center. His last step he stopped kneeling with both hands on the ground, anchoring both robes to the pavement before throwing both hands forward and throwing the last two of the eight ropes at Ken.

Much to Kage's surprise, Ken broke through his binds using his immense reishi before the final ropes connected.

"Kage! You are going to have to do better than that!" Ryukiba taunted as he snatched the final 2 ropes and ripped them out of the street.

Ken utilized his heightened wind reishi to launch himself at Kage. Midflight, Ken threw the ropes like a whip so that the end of the ropes wrapped around Kage's waist. Ken threw the ropes up in the air and launched Kage into the sky.

Kage didn't have time to react with the speed that Ken launched himself at him, breaking through the bakudo like they were strings. The two he grabbed were solid enough, and there was no time to counter it before he was flung up in the air.

"Not good!" he said to himself as he was accelerated upwards. He grabbed his zanpakuto and drew it quickly, cutting through the ropes with ease since they were his. Once free of them. he vanished from sight, flash stepping back down to the roof of the shop and then back into the street.

However, this was starting to get taxing. One step to get away from him, eight more for spiders dance, and two more to get back down to the ground, as well as all the traveling he'd been doing, and then all the kido. His reserves weren't limitless. But this was not the time to run out.

"You're a strong beast. You're right, I'm gonna have to do better. No more playing around!"

"You shouldn't have been playing around to begin with!" Ken had appeared right behind Kage. "You may be fast, but I can see you when flash step!" Ken's powers were truly shown when Ryukiba was in the pilot seat. When Ryukiba took over, Ken's abilities nearly doubled in power.

Ryukiba quickly clapped his hands together, slowly pulling them apart, and gathered his Wind Reishi into the pocket that formed. WIND BLAST! Ryukiba thrusted Ken's hands onto Kage's back and unleashed an extreme blast of wind. Sending Kage rocketing across the street and into the building on the opposite side.

Kage's eyes opened wide when Ken suddenly flash stepped behind him. How....? The answer would have to wait though. Spinning around on the spot, he had just enough time to throw his arms infront of him, gathering the reishi around him into a cushion. There wasn't enough time for kido, only to brace himself as he was thrown backwards. Before he could hit anything too hard though before using his own shunpo. he waited to hit the building though, guiding himself so that he crashed through a window. Once he was out of sight, he stepped out from the building and into the alleyway. The reishi he had left coiled around him like a curtain.

"Bakudo #26: Kyokko!" he said under his breath. The reishi enveloped him and cloaked him from sight, sealing off any trace of his spiritual power in the process. For the moment, he was safe, but fighting this beast was going to be nigh impossible.

"Well, Gleam" he said, looking down at his zanpakuto, "do YOU have any ideas?"

Brad saw as his team mates walked outside in there huffs, all he could do is sigh.

"All this over a human..." He said, running his hand through his hair.

'so after we get this mess over with, we got to head into the realm of the hollows and...'

Brad heard a loud explosion like noise outside, as well as yelling and screaming.

"Damnit you two!" Brad yelled, grabing Izanagi and running outside, seeing that Ken... had activated his Bankai?!

"Damnit, this doesent help at all!" Brad yelled once more, releaseing Izanagi without his command.

"So im that close..." He muttered to himself, seeing a different form of Izanagi in his hand.

"Thanks Izanagi, This just means im that much closer to my goal." Brad smerked as he dashed twords Ken.

"Hey Scary!" Brad yelled as Ken turned around, he must have been in battle rage, swiping at Brad, The young leader could only jump over the squad 11 shinigami, using his Reshi to glue himself to a nearby building.

"Im not taking this lightley." Brad said, holding Izanagi in one hand as he started to make hand signs.

"Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six!" Hiburi yelled, a massive amount of Reshi gathering to his hands.

He now pointed Izunagi at Ken, forcing the Bakudô through the spear's tip, a yellow Aura now surrounded the dragon-like Shinigami.

"Bakudo # 61! Rikujôkôrô!" He yelled as 6 points of light surrounded his team mate's waist, forcing him to stay in place.

"Now, #1! Sai!" Brad yelled, binding Ken's hands and feet together, making sure he dident move.

"NOW CALM YOUR ASS DOWN!" Brad screamed at Ken, very, very angry at the moment.

"KAGE! I KNOW YOUR HEAR TOO! GET OUT HERE NOW!" Brad yelled, knowing that, with squad 2's training, Kage was around, looking for his chance to strike.

"And I mean it! NOW!" He scremed, a yellow and teal aura could be seen comming from Brad's body.

'holy shit... this is the maddest ive seen him in years...' Izanagi thought, feeling his partner's aura.

Kage kept himself hidden. He could hear, oh yes, and he could feel the spiritual pressure as Brad subdued the beast out there in the street. They both had a power that Kage could not match, not yet anyway. Brute strength was only part of the equation, direction was the other. Kage just needed to find the balance.

"KAGE! I KNOW YOUR HERE TOO! GET OUT HERE NOW!" Brad yelled.

He scowled. And I should reveal myself why? If I was going to do that, I wouldn't have gone through the effort to disappear in the first place.

"And I mean it! NOW!" He screamed.

Kage sighed and sheathed his zanpakuto. Fine, whatever you say, fearless leader. He pulled his robes over the hilt of his zanpakuto and walked out from the alleyway, but he didn't disspell his kido yet. As enraged as Brad was, he wasn't going to give him the chance to retaliate as he'd done to the squad 11 shinigami. Rather, he walked around in a wide circle and came up behind Brad before disspelling the kyokko and kept his spiritual pressure low.

"I am here." he said calmly, clearly the opposite of the beastial hybrid that Ken had become.

"WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED HERE?!" Brad yelled, seeing Kage appear behind him as he turned around.

'Brad, you have to calm down, your dream is to become a captian no? then you have to calm down.' Izanagi spoke to Brad from within his mind.

The young soul reaper took a deep breath.

"Sorry Kage, but its not every day you see... this." he spoke, looking at the bound dragonoid.

"I want to know who started this, and I want to know now." He said in a sturn voice, as a Leader should.

"Guh, Graaawr! Release me you fool!" Shouted Ryukiba in his twin tone voice as he struggled against the strong Bakudo. There wasn't much that could contain Ken when his zanpakto was in control, so this bakudo had to be one of the strongest.

"Who started this!?" Brad asked sternly.

"He did! He threatened my master so I came out to fight! Grraahh!" Ryukiba spat as he writhed around trying to get free.

"Ryukiba! Calm down!" Ken yelled at his Zanpakuto. "We've lost, let me back in control."

"But Ken! He tried to hurt you!" Ryukiba argued.

"I know he did," Ken mentally walked over to Ryukiba and rubbed him behind his ears. "We only lost because Brad intervened, we would have won otherwise. Now go get some rest, I will play with you once I go to sleep tonight."

"Okay!" Ryukiba submitted with a happy tone in his voice.

Ken's eyes reverted to their normal green hue, his pupils became circular again. His ears became rounded and his claws retracted into fingernails. Finally his teeth withdrew back into his mouth and his tongue fused back together.

"There, I'm normal now. Now release me! My body is starting to cramp up!" Ken whined, back to his normal lazy self.

"Not untel you explain how the hell you got Bankai." Brad said, looking at the bound human.

"And it doesent change the fact that you used excessive force agenst a fellow team member." He continued.

"Okay, for starters, that was NOT my bankai. Secondly, he was holding me by my throat. I felt endangered so I called out my Zanpakuto and defended myself. What you saw was Ryukiba, My Zanpakuto, controlling my body. When He and I get synchronized, we don't need Bankai. As you can see we nearly defeated Kage on our own." Ken explained to Brad. "I'm done fighting, now please let me go!"

"Fine." Brad said, releasing the spells and freeing Ken.

"But be forwarned, IM watching you two." he said, walking back into the shop and slaming the door.

Evela looked at the fight. "Did I come at a bad time?" he asked Brad, confused at their argument and why they actually fought. "Um, anyway, what did I miss, I assume something important happened while I was gone since they are now at each others throats."

Kage remained silent as Brad dished out his words, though to be honest, he didn't care all that much. Hot air for the most part as far as he was concerned. It wasn't like he was trying to do him harm, killing him would have proved nothing. That was why he restrained himself to bakudo rather than using all out hado. But that didn't matter. The fight was over.

"But be forwarned, IM watching you two." he said, walking back into the shop and slaming the door.

"Better use both eyes." Kage said after him before casting a glare over at Ken. It was true, they had won the fight. He was no match for that raw power, and he suspected he couldn't inflict enough damage to bring him down. Of course, he never released his zanpakuto either...

Rather than wait around for him to say anything, Kage used his shunpo and disappeared from sight. He didn't go too far, just up to the rooftops to find a place out of the way. The alcove of a roof access stairwell was good enough for him, ducking inside in the shadows out of the sun. He had something he had to do, and it couldn't wait. Sitting down and laying back against the wall, he let one hand lay over the hilt of his zanpakuto and closed his eyes...

Kage let himself fall back into the world within his blade, into Gleams world. It was true, she didn't have to let him in, she could have forced him back out. She could do a lot of things. But at the same time, he wasn't open for debate, and he was coming whether she wanted him or not.

Headfirst he plunged into the world, darkness surrounding him in all directions. It was the clouds, thick and black, toxic and acrid though here where his body was merely an illusion, that didn't matter. Streaking out of the bottom of the clouds, the landscape opened up before him marred and cut by the streams of lava. Straight ahead of him was his landing place, the same place he landed every time for some reason. A whole world inside his sword, and this was the only place he ever went.

Twisting in the air, he righted himself against the ground. Falling now feet first, he gathered up his spiritual energy, his reishi growing thick around his body. Holding both hands down as he fell, his reishi gathered quickly in his palms.

"SHO!"

Kage let go twin blasts from his hands just before he hit the ground. Ash and small rocks flew in all directions as he hung for a moment in midair. The force of the blast countered his fall, but then gravity grabed him and he fell the rest of the way down, landing easily. Surveying the landscape there was nothing, but a single silken thread floated down in the air through the dust, clearly blown upwards by his blast. Reaching out his hand, it fell over his fingers, leading off in the distance.

"How does she always know..." he asked before dropping the thread. He knew it well enough. Following the miniscule line over the ground he walked for at least a mile. The path he took avoided all the lava streams, crossing bridges instead or climbing hills and leaping across gaps. Eventually though, he came to a cave that led down at a steep angle into pitch blackness. The thread went in as well. This was his destination.

"You have got to be kidding me. I'm supposed to go in there?" he asked. Part of him expected an answer, but nothing came. This is stupid, he thought to himself, This is obviously a trap. She could be in there waiting to ambush me just inside, hiding in the shadows.

He paced back and forth outside the entrance for a few minutes. THis could very well be a trap. But if it was, why did she lead him here? Well, that was easy enough, every trap needs bait. But why trap him? What does she gain? Aside from a meal, there's no motivation, but then who would pass up an easy meal? He poured over it in his head, balling his hands into fists in his frustration before he finally worked up the courage to go in. He hesitatied at the mouth for just a moment, before placing a hand on the inside wall. The stone was...warm, not hot, but warm though with all the volcanic activity that was hardly a suprise. He took his first step in, sliding his hand along the wall as he walked and then disappeared into the darkness.

The passage was anything but straight. It went left, right, up, down, it even looped in a couple places in flat circles just to throw him off. That wasn't all. The more he went, the smoother the rock got. It started off rough, like he expected, but the deeper he went, the smoother it was, like worn rock, then polished rock, and...soft...rock? For just a moment he paused and stroked the wall, feeling the silky smoothness. This wasn't rock, it was spiders silk. This wasn't a cave, this was her lair.

It was too late now though. By now she knew he was here. She knew as soon as he entered his world. Pressing on again and using the wall as a guide, he followed it until the cave took a sharp turn. Turning with it, off in the distance he saw a light. He's gone up and down so many times he had no idea how close he was to the surface, but this light was too white to be volcanic fire. He got closer to it, listening hard at the heavy silence down here. Rounding another corner though, the cave suddenly opened up, and there she was.

"Ah, you made it." she said, standing amidst the cavern. The entire room was covered in spiders silk, all of it glowing with a bioluminscent light. All of it glowing together created a massive light that forced him to readjust his vision.

"You knew I was coming?" He asked, though it seemed like a foolish question. She smiled and moved over to him, her steps making no sound on the soft floor.

"Of course I did. This is my world, of course, and besides" she said, leaning over and picking up a thread off the floor, "tripwires. They run all over my world. I can feel you no matter where you go." she explained as she let it go and moved right up in front of him, carressing his face with her black hand.

"So what did you come here for?" she asked, leaning in to gaze in his eyes, "Did you come to spend the day with me like you promised? After that fight you must be tired. Come here and let me hold my baby..." she said, leaning in to wrap her arms around him.

He didn't let her though, Without even a second thought he backed away from her.

"No, I'm not here to spend the day with you. I want to know what you did to me. Ever since the last time I was here, I've been feeling...different..." he told her. The smile on her face turned into a smirk.

"Kage..." she said, walking over to him again. She rested her arms over her chest, crossing them and spreading her stance a bit to bring herself down to his level, "You say that like it was a bad thing. I was there when you killed that other shinigami. You were magifiscent." she told him. He shook his head.

"That's not what I meant. That was a job. But since then, I've been feeling...frustrated, angry. That last fight, it shouldn't have happened. I should have remained more calm. I don't know why I'm even so worked up over this girl..."

Gleams smirk dropped, "What do you mean 'this girl'? What girl?"

"One of the other shinigami found a human girl" Kage explained, "She has tremendous spiritual power, enough that she's attracting hollows. He brought her back to Urahara's shop for safe keeping, which is where we fought the hollow."

A look of relief passed over Gleams face, soon replaced by a look of sadistic pleasure.

"Ah, that girl, yes, I know her. She used me when the hollow attacked. She has so much power, so much more than you. It was delectable." she said, bringing a finger to her lips and licking up the length of it before sliding it into her mouth as if she'd just eaten. Kage was less than thrilled.

"Yes, that girl..." he continued, the disdain showing in his voice, "Anyway, that idiot took it upon himself to start teaching her how to use her spiritual power, just like a quincy."

Gleam slipped the finger out of her mouth and looked down at him curiously.

"A quincy? Well now, I thought they were all gone, weren't they? Wiped out by, well, people like you." she said, that familiar smirk showing on her face.

"Yes, about a century ago, but I wasn't a shinigami then. Still, I know what happened, and we don't want to go there again..." he said, sounding very seriousl. Gleam noticed this as well and stood back up to her full height again.

"Well, just because she has high spiritual power doesn't mean she will be a quincy, especially since there aren't any left for her to learn from. And she can't become a shinigami until she's dead, so there's no worries there, right?" she asked, looking down at him.

"Except there is a quincy left. He and a few others got into the soul society and ran amuck. If that one got together with this girl..." he said. She narrowed her eyes.

"Well then, Kage, you may have to do what shinigami do best in regards to quincy." she said in a cold, flat tone, "But that wasn't why you came here. You came here because you said you felt different. Just what did you mean by different?"

Kage was taken aback by the sudden change in Gleam. He'd never seen her so serious before.

"Well, it's just...like everything has changed. Ever since that job, I've been tense, irritable, frustrated. I don't know why." he explained. Inside, Gleam was smirking at him again, but she kept her face on.

"I'll tell you why, and I'll make it very clear so you don't have to think about it too much and you can reflect on it more." she said as she moved up in front of him again. He was eye level with her belly, having to back up and look nearly straight up, "It's because you enjoyed it. The freedom of a clear goal, the freedom of casting aside your sense of morals and judgement, and the pleasure you got from fulfilling your purpose as a squad 2 shinigami and a predator. And now that you've tasted it, you want more. That's why you've been trying to goad anyone into a fight. That girl, that shinigami, anything to feel that freedom again."

"That's not true, it was just a job, I didn-" he stammared out, only to be cut off.

"You didn't enjoy it? You think I'm going to believe a lie like that? The exhileration when you made the killing strike as the bullet passed over your head, the rush it gave you, the sense of accomplishment you felt when you fulfilled your mark. Don't lie to me, Kage, I was there with you. I felt everything you did." She told him in a very matter of fact tone.

Kage had no arguement for her though. He lowered his eyes and his head. Maybe I did enjoy it...

Reaching down though, she lifted his head, "Do not punish yourself for taking joy in the death of another. I see in you the turmoil, that desire to fulfill your sense of satisfaction and pleasure, but you are reluctant to do what it takes. You take pleasure in your duty, not the death itself. That may change, but for now know that you are not the monster you think you are. You are still very much a boy. Maybe you'll grow up to be a monster, maybe you'll grow up to be a man, I don't know, but for now do not despair and just go back to being the little boy you always were." she told him. Reaching forward, she took him by his shoulders. Normally, this was where she would try to kiss him, but this time, she decided to let him go. Sometimes the fly escapes, and comes back bigger and juicier than before.

Kage looked up at her and nodded. He knew that his time here was done. She held on to him for a little while longer before letting go and standing back up. She turned away and retrieved her staff leaning against the far wall. Looking back over her shoulder at him, she thumped it once against the silken floor and banished him from her world, his consciousness rising straight through the ground and up into the sky before he suddenly awoke back on the roof.

"Oookay then" Evela said, still utterly confused, but wouldn't ignore an order, especially when he seems to be this angry. He looked down at his sword by his waist, and then to the small bag he had near it containing a few of his songs and small instruments. "Well, I'm packed, I don't take much. Where we going?" he asked.

My bad guys, I've been drowned in lab work preparing for my midterms and haven't had much time to really post...

Aoshi had watched the entire interchange from the battle to the savage argument between his supposed squad members. He had been visibly surprised that one of their number had so readily achieved his bankai and had to step back when he lost control. If things keep happening like this then we are going to kill each other before the hollows even manage to. Brad is at least trying to take control of the situation. Taking his zanpakuto and a small canvas bag that contained his few possessions the most important of which being his sake bottle, he rejoined everyone. As much as everyone seems to be fighting, I intend to see this mission through to the bitter end. "Where are we off to?"

"Look, Long story short, where on a rescue mission." Brad said, sighing as he had to tell his team a half truth.

"I found some reshi of a rather strong hollow when i got to my location, Where going to the land of Hollows, Huacho Mundo." He said in a voice so his teammates wouldent worry.

"Where to go there, find these humans and get the hell out as fast as we can, simple as that, we are not to go anywhere near where Aizen is located, if we find him, if we do happen upon his base, we leave at once, and get back here ASAP."

"We leave once everyone is ready."

"We are going to Huacho Mundo!" Evela yelled loudly, possibly too loudly. "That's Awesome! Why would you hide this!" he continued yelling. 'Huacho mundo sounds like a fun place to be... Well, maybe not fun, but... Still... Wooo!' he thought to himself.

"I am ready now, and am willing to go to Huencho Mundo, and perform some experiments."
