It's really cool...but I have to wonder why you would want to play video games when you can't see what's going on.
This kind of begs the question, is there a market for Audio Games?

I think it's safe to say Verner is one of the greatest gamers ever. And I doubt anyone will manage to do something more amazing than beating a literal blind run of OoT.

I beat Ganon on my first try. I OWN this blind dude, I'm so much better than him on video games it's not even funny.
Guess what: I beat him on my first try too. So did thousands of other people.

But how many people have beaten the entire fucking game when they're completely blind? Only Mr. Verner.

No one, not even you, has a right to say they're better than him at video games if he can beat a game like OoT with such a handicap.
Way to fail. I hate to be the bearer of bad news... BUT!

EDIT: I jk. I love to be the bearer of bad news, who am I kidding?

It upsets me that he can't read these comments

If you're reading them for him, give yourself a pat on the back as well

Give that guy a trophy, World

Wow, that guy is badass. I wish I was awesome enough to do this - I admire his effort, the work he put into it, and the fact that he didn't let a disability stop him from doing something he wanted to strive for.

Namely, saving the princess.

Wonder if he got all the skulltulas?

Even so he is far more of a completionist than I'll ever be.
You're a shining beacon for us all :D

Blind Gamer Defeats Ganon for the First Time

Thanks to hard work, dedication, and the mapping of just about every move and sound cue in the game, a blind gamer has finally completed Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Last July the Escapist <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/93541-Blind-Gamer-Tackles-Zelda-Ocarina-of-Time>reported a blind gamer from Ontario, Canada by the name of Jordan Verner was attempting to complete Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. With the help of four gamers from around the world, he has finished this endeavor, thanks to two years of dedication. The gamers ran through the dungeons, recording all the sounds and writing detailed descriptions of the movements they made with Link and the positions of the enemies, which would then be submitted to Verner, whose computer would read it to him.

"When I was younger, a doctor told me I was going to go blind, which turned out not to be so," said Roy Williams, a Camden, South Carolina resident who was involved in the project. "But it scared me and I was like 'I want to be here to help this person get through his disability.'"

With the level of effort and dedication that went in to the process, finally beating the game is a huge achievement. "It felt great, I felt strong, I felt the sky's the limit," Jordan said.

This really shows the drive and dedication of the gamer community, and the power of the gaming experience. Hats off to Jordan, Williams, and the other gamers who contributed to this project, they've done something truly great.

Damn, that's a feat. Imagine what he could do next with that kind of dedication. Or maybe what he could have done instead with that dedication. I wonder if he can echolocate?
