So I just checked this out, and I got pretty excited. If they are promising a hard game, then I will have even more reason to buy it.
The last Blizzard game that I played and was challenged, was D2. And that was playing Hardcore Hell difficulty when you actually had to pay attention and know what you were doing.

Slightly related: I mentioned my joy at a hard Blizzard game in the youtube comments section, and one person goes "wait what? you're saying WoW isn't hard?". I briefly explained that WoW used to be hard in BC, it was dull in wotlk, and boring as fuck in the bit of Cata I played, but he wouldn't give up his point that he believes WoW is still challenging. So I just lol'd and let him live in his deluded world.

Conversational value: Does this please you? Make you want to buy the game more? Groan with the knowledge that grinding will suck?

Disclaimer: No, there is no mention about the release date. This video is just about how hard D3 will be.

I've already bought it with my WoW annual sub. The only thing Blizzard could do to make me want it more is to actually release the fucking thing.
Or give annual pass subbers access to the bloody Diablo 3 beta. That would've been nice too.

see the problem i have with wow is that it got boring. the quests were getting tedious, and gear grinding was ridiculous. So i'm hoping that in d3 they make it so the enemies are horde like and i don't mind dying cuz it's excitement that should drive a game not the omg another quest to get a dog outta tree again

I think they'd end up losing money. yes, that's probably why they DIDN'T offer the D3 beta, but still.
I mean, I'm getting D3 for the price of merely continuing my WoW sub. That is a thing I was going to do anyway.
Blizzard have 'lost' a sale through this offer.

That said, the offer itself is only available for accounts that have been active for... a while, I forget exactly. So i don't think a D3 beta key would've been a bankbuster.
