Out of curiosity, before Blizzard revealed Tracer's altered victory pose, what was your opinion?
Like what was my opinion of the other pose? Nothing. I had no opinion because that pose was a generic, uninteresting pose. I defended the right for that post to be there, but at the end of the day I didn't give a shit about the pose. Hanzo, Genji, and Widowmaker all had the exact same pose, and still do. At least Hanzo and Widow still have it, but I think they changed Genji's because that pose was only ever a placeholder pose for other things in the Beta.

I will say I thought the argument about the pose not fitting her personality was absurd. There is not enough evidence of any of these characters personalities to dictate what they would and would not do. And there is no argument that makes sense for Tracer to not have kept the basic over the shoulder pose. But hey people got what they wanted, a more playful pose, while still keeping her ass in play.

Sorry to just squeeze my little 2 cent having ass in here for a bit, but I thought there was plenty, or at least a reasonable inference, of evidence that showed Tracer just casually poking her ass out provocatively seemed a bit out of character for one whose entire personality seemed to be playful, maybe a skosh flirty, childish, but not naive, and confident, but not serious. If the question is would Tracer just casually pose that? Maybe, she's a funny character and perhaps she'd do it on larf. But on a perceived character perspective, it would be more playful and thoughtful than just presenting her ass at the screen and watch as dudes drool over it.

Now, on a personal opinion, I thought the pose was okay, just eye-rollingly boring and kinda "predictable". Although the OP of that thread had a reasonable point I did think it got a bit personal and drawn out, but for whatever reasons it was a good decision to alter the pose to make it a bit more fun sexy rather than blatant sexy.

As for the case of other characters having the over shoulder pose, we should all know by now that male characters who do the whole over the shoulder pose to be perceived as badasses staring at the people behind them for intimidation. Widowmakers reason? Hey, she's obviously a very sensual, mysterious, and provocative character. She's every sexy elite military/assassin trope in person, so it's believable that she would appear seductive and confident, to disarm her male targets for an easy win. THAT'S WHY NO ONE WAS HARPING ON WIDOWMAKER STILL HAVING THAT POSE!

Blizzard, you're fighting a law of reality... Just let it go... Resisting it is like trying to stop rain from hitting the ground. You can put up an umbrella around important thing like your art assets but even then if the wind blows right they'll get wet to...

Blizzard doesn't like people illegally ripping assets in game (models included) putting minor other assets on it and using/distributing it for free.
They could all be videos of the Overwatch characters going to Holy Mass and it would still get taken down.

Wanna do 3D fanart do it the legal way next time.

Tracer being a perky, playful character provides perfect reason for her to have that same pose as Widowmaker, because Tracer's playful nature indicates that she would strike that Widowmaker pose for the sole purpose of MOCKING Widowmaker for doing it. It is perfectly plausable for her to strike that pose for that exact reason alone. Nobody thought of that and you know why? Because as colorful and designed as these characters are, there isn't enough personality to them to tell you shit. The personality is all an illusion based on design and a few one-liners throughout the game.

Fuck, there isn't even enough evidence of personality in the cinematics. Watch the Tracer/Widowmaker movie and point out the part in which Tracer is peppy, cheerful and fun loving? Instead you see an intense character who shows determination, a protective instinct, fear, and hopelessness as Widowmaker completely outmatches her.

Which perfectly make my point the these characters have little personality and what personality that is there can be changed on Blizzard's whim at anytime. The Tracer in the reveal cinematic is a very different person from the one in the "Alive" cinematic. There is nothing deep about these characters, they are merely puppets that take on whatever actions and personalities Blizzard feels like giving them at any time.

Again doesn't really matter. People were quick to call the pose sexist and they got what they wanted, so I guess one point for the neutering of all the evil men of the world. Oh wait....the new pose is sexier? Well then...I guess it's actually a win for all the Ass-men of the world. Thanks for complaining.

I dunno. I feel like people make it too simple by just filing the poses/characters as sexy/not-sexy. I mean, poses can be used to convey different things about different chaacters. I mean, Lex Luthor's done the Superman fist on hips pose.
