apparently they DDOS streamers.
Erm...how is this supposed to work?
I know this because they where DDOSing Kripp last night on every game last night. The worst was PoE. A whole lot of people lost their hardcore characters including some of the people on top of the ladder.

As for hiw it's supposed to work they just pick a streamer who is playing an online game and DDOS the hell out of that game.

PS4 PSN came back online around 2AM, but around 4:30 I started having really unplayable levels of lag in FFXIV (at a level I've never seen before), which PC players didn't have. I'm a little worried the lizards are coming back for round two.

...I needed to go to bed anyway :p
Hope everything's fine when I get up.

Then they aren't really DDOS-ing streamers but the game. With that in mind, whether they are targeting streamers or not is quite hard to pinpoint given that they'd be DDOS-ing the entire server with thousands of players on it. The fact that there are people who stream in addition to playing would not really be relevant. The fact that lots of people who stream games, do it online ones makes their presence even less relevant to a conclusion. Also, given the fact that they've DDOS-ed so many things - online services as well as major online games, it's more likely to say that the streamers were not really part of the equation.

They specifically watched kripps stream to see what games he played and the proceeded to DDOS that game. Then they said on twitter that they DDOS'd him. They watch streams to see what games they play and then ddos those games.

Oh, the internet is just being immature again?

Well, that explains a lot.

Glad I was only trying to do some of the Naxxramas adventure stuff in Hearthstone when I got kicked out of the game, now I know that I don't have to blame Blizzard for that. Just yet more fuel for the fire at this point.

Because this is how you make everyone hate you.[/meme]
I don't know if it's related, but apparently the EU Planetside 2 login server was DDOS'd yesterday too.

well, looks like Sony's security hasn't really improved that much in the past four years if this managed to happen again. They better get this sorted quicker than last time considering how Infamous First Light and Madden 15 come out on Tuesday as well as the fact that Destiny is two weeks away. Not a good place to be in.
You know Xbox Live is down as well right?
