Blizzard and Bioware are both still great. Anyone arguing otherwise hasn't been paying much attention. Bioware has probably been affected by EA, but I see no proof that Blizzard has ever been influenced by Activision.

Anyways... April Fool's is awesome. I wish more devs made fun of their fellow companies every year.

So all the new pet and mount transactions, class/race transfer transactions, etc, aren't all a part of the Activision business model? Ah good to know that it's actually Blizzard trying to milk WoW players of money instead of Activision telling them to do so.

Never said that was a bad thing, just saying that pre-Activision Blizzard had discussed that they never had any plans to do microtransaction businesses like that, and post-Activision Blizzard released all of those really quickly after the acquisition.

The accelerated release date on Diablo 3 (Some would consider a game with a large focus on multiplayer to be incomplete without pvp.) and the increased rate of expansion releases for World of Warcraft says it to me.

So Starcraft 2/their most recent game didn't have bugs they haven't fixed since release/for years, bullshit mechanics that punish specialization yet force you into specialization, useless defense stats, shitty interface that apparently hasn't been updated for years and years, important information not given, lack of important and obvious gameplay mechanics that are only added a decade later (if at all), and some really bad enemy design choices?

Why yes, I have been playing (and mostly raging at) Diablo 2 a lot recently. Why do you ask?

Of course they're different. That was ELEVEN YEARS AGO. They're 10 times as big as they were then. What the hell does that have to do with them being influenced by Activision?

They've made some business decisions designed to make the company large and successful. I was unaware that meant they were being corrupted by Acitivision... who, by the way, has absolutely no involvement within the company whatsoever. They share stocks. That's about it.
