Now everyone knows that they are making an new MMO, not diablo 3 of course. Kinda exciting to guess what it is. As for me to the all possibilities of Blizzard's Next MMO [http://feature.mmosite.com/content/2008-07-09/20080709230935125,1.shtml], World of Starcraft probably gonna be the next one, a sci-fi MMO sounds so nice while there are tons of fantasy MMO out there. As one day i get bored and quit WOW, and there comes a WOS(world of starcraft) rocks so much, go go go.

I really REALLY don't want them to do a World of Starcraft, I'm sure they could make it work since they are saying it is going to be a "Next-Gen MMO" but I just want them to stay away from that idea as far as possible, and not even think about touching it with a 20 foot pole.
I'm with Ultrajoe on this, do something new, I mean what's the risk? They will pretty much be competing with themselves and AoC. All the other upcoming MMO's I know of seem to either be already very successful or so far from completion that by the time they get here I'll die of old age.

Hmm, I'm rather partial to the idea of a Starcraft MMO, something in the vein of Planetside or Tribes combined with the Starcraft universe could be pretty good no? It doesn't -have- to be another WoW alike grindfest not that I don't like WoW anyway 
Only problem would be the Zerg I guess, see, both the Terran's and Protoss have quite a few methods of vehicular transport. Whilst the Zerg do have some larger units that are used as transportation i.e. the Overlords, they are in the main all spcialised weapons in themselves. Actually, that could be a pretty neat element. Think of it like, if you play as a Zerg character, you start as a larva, and depending on your 'rank' in game, you gain access to more powerful/varied forms to change into, and when you die you revert back to a larva. Similar to the Protoss and Terrans who gain access to better vehicles/equipment in this way.

As it stands, they've got 3 big franchises at the moment, Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft.
They've got only a few past titles, The Lost Vikings and Rock N' Roll Racing come to mind, but it's doubtful they'd go back to any of those at this point. So, this means, that they're either planning to make a new spin on the existing big 3, or, whatever -it- is will be a completely new IP. Blizzard aren't perfect, but they are a very successful company, and many of their past titles have in the main been big hits, both critically and financially. So, it's hopeful that whatever they're cooking up next is going to be continue that trend and be pretty damn awesome while it's at it

That'd be nice too, but, a problem with it is if they just turn it into a 'darker' and 'edgier' World of Warcraft. Which, they could very well do, but I'd still love to play as a freaking Necromancer! Not some damn Deathknight! okay people i don't know where you've been hiding to be this out of touch... StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3 are confirmed, Diablo is likely to be the new mmo no one is saying yet.
A StarCraft MMO could work in theory and the game mechannics could easily mimic aspects hellgate (but not as buggy) or fallout 3. .... and who the hell keeps stealing my damn name wherever i go seriously?? how many Kron's are there?
