Hey, there are 25 Blockbusters within 30 miles of where I live, and 2 Blockbuster Express Kiosks that I know of...

Blockbuster still seems to be kicking...

Hey, guys? Can you hear that? That's the sound of Blockbuster's positive PR dying.

It doesn't even matter if these guys miraculously pull out a few million dollars out of their ass now. No one's going to want to deal with them or buy from them now.

Blockbuster still exists?

I was not aware...
In Australia they are still alive and well. The Australian brand is seperate from the US brand and is thriving thanks to... IDK what! The download limits are getting bigger for less (Telstra recently bumped up my 25GB plan to 100GB at no extra charge!) and digital distribution is fast becoming a viable means of acquiring multimedia as speeds slowly improve to what they should be according to the ads in the first place!
Mostly I think it's because the internet here in America is more available than Australia makes Netflix easier to use, unless I'm mistaken. But I do live on top of a mountian an hour from the closest major city and I don't have a download limit to my knowledge. (I haven't hit it yet)

Wow. If there was ever a news post to link to as the official/unofficial/just-made-up-by-me-three-seconds-ago entry in the internet dictionary for the word "desperation", this is it.

Coming to think of it, I visited blockbuster not long ago to finally get the lord of the rings dvd trilogy. The conversation with the wild eyed manager went something like this:

Manager: "Y'know these are available on blu-ray?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't have a blu-ray play-"
Manager: "Would you like to buy one?"

By the sounds of things, bailing out bloackbusters might actually be less expensive than the NHS therapy sessions some may need to stop them from psychotically protecting their stores from bailiffs like the grocery store manager from "dead rising".

[What's selling ad space then? You know, something that's on this site. It's taking money from one company to advertise their product. The Blockbuster thing said nothing about a review. It was basically wanting an advertisement in exchange for a free subscription instead of cash. Which is fine, because it's Twitter, not the dude's legit site. They weren't asking him to post something on Giant Bomb.

Try to explain away a difference. Go ahead.
Everyone knows companies pay to stick their ads on sites, and treat them accordingly.

In this case, the attempt was made to get the person to look like it was their own opinion, based purely about what they actually thought about the companies, with no mention of being rewarded for doing so. Now, if he was to say something about the company telling him to tell people this, fair enough.

Otherwise, that's called "Cash for comment" (where I live), and can get people into trouble.
