Right it's that point in the year again where after donating blood, I try an coerce some of you people in to donating.

So guys I'm gonna put it on the level if you have no fear of needles, ring up an make an appointment to give blood it's only an hour of your time and by doing it you will save someones life.

*Edit 1* Thank you guys I'm really happy to see the amount of positive responses and people willing to donate. Makes my day seriously.

I give blood as much as I can.

I like to think of all the people with my blood coursing through their veins.

They will feel my pain soon enough.

I give blood when I can. Soon, those "lucky" enough to receive my blood will rise up and we will take this world as our own and all shall suffer, mwaha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahem, what I meant to say was that I gave blood last week so I can't for the next couple of months

I have no fear of needles but don't donate blood. If instead I could store my blood somewhere incase I need it I would do that, or if instead I could choose who gets my blood I would donate it.

Somehow I was told I didn't have the veins for donating blood.

Then I took part in a 4 day clinical trial where I gave blood over 20 times.

I'll consider giving blood again as a means to discover my blood type (I have no idea where my birth certificate is and it's not listed on my medical records).

I need to test what blood type I am first. My mum had to stop giving blood after donating for many years because once her blood caused problems for the other person, and after that they told her she can't do it anymore. If I have the same type then I won't be able to do it.

I can't give blood. Lived in UK for six months during the period of 1980-1996. Possible (unlikely) vCJD exposure. I could probably donate outside of Australia, but that's way too much effort.

My problem is I don't seem to bleed easy. I still try, but my success is 1 out of 5 attempts. I do have a rare blood type though (B- only 1.5% of the United States pop has it) so I keep trying.

I have been given blood, so I can't give blood. Thanks to whoever donated and saved my life though.

Question, does it count if I donate other people's blood?
Yes. Yes it does.

I have never donated blood.
I like the idea, but I always feel like I need someone to tell me to do it with them.
No one ever has.

I give blood. Literally as often as I can. I have actually been turned away once because it had been too soon for them to let me have a go.

Lifetime donations: 4 units (which is 1 whenever they let me for as long as I have been old enough to give)

Why don't you do the asking or just man up and go lone wolf?

I do, and now I feel like I'm part of the superior moral race! Now who wants to touch me?

Why don't you ask people to go with you? Couldn't hurt (well, the needle does a little).

I've given blood a few times.

This thread has reminded me that I need to discuss whether I'm eligible to give blood once I have worked out a medication routine. Last time I was bugged to give blood was just after I had a kidney stone and I was having blood tests and whatnot, which makes me sad when I have to tell them no.
