If they add it, it will be the same as the HDDVD drive was: an add on that only plays movies.

and how many disc will FFXIII be for the 360? was it 4 or 5? even at that they had to compress it still. the PS3 version only has 1 disc to do that. even id was having issue with the size limits of the 360 dvds
At Square's last announcement, it was 3.

(sorry bout the double)

I doubt it. Blu-ray... it's not that revolutionary.
sorry but let's see a dvd do full 1080p, it can't do that on a standard dvd-9, also there's the storage aspect of it
It's all numbers man, what do graphics really matter?
Imagine if they said that in the 8-bit days...
I don't think graphics are all that matter but they certainly help.
Anyway I can't see it happening unless MS are making their own version of blue ray...
HHD DVD

even they've reached the limit with most games on the 360 cause the discs are too small

My argument still stands
No your argument stands against your connection, however a PS3 can update a game in under 30 minutes.
Your complaint seems petty.
My argument is that it takes a long time to update a PS3
i've never had a 30 minute update for a game. most of the time it's 5 minutes if that, but then again i guess i do have a good internet connection

so seriously i'd like to see where you're getting your info cause i'm pretty sure it comes from a planetary object
First of all I don't care about FF13 or any game starring angsty 13 year old boys/girls and The Xbox can update a game over 30 seconds top

Let me dispel a myth, Sony did NOT develop Blu Ray, it was developed by the Blu Ray Disc Association. Sony way a part of it, but along with Samsung, Panasonic LG etc.

Edit: Unless you want to get picky ;)

You know, I never say what the big deal was with installation times on the PS3. Most games take about 30 minutes, and that isn't a great big deal. If I can wait 30 minutes for MGS4 to install, then so can the impatient hordes.

But yeah, Xbox is probably never going to get Blu-Ray, more so since Microsoft backed HD-DVD, the direct competitor to Blu-Ray in the format war.
The whole point is that blu-ray is as slow as fuck and the fact that game developers have to make you install games on your hard drive or put the information twice to cut down loading times completely negates blu-ray's only good quality, the storage

I'd still say "Why the fuck do people care that much?" Sure, it looks nicer than standard DVDs, but when did standard DVDs start looking so bad?

Microsoft + Sony = (probably) Never gonna happen.
I don't really see what the big deal is about Blu Ray, but that would be an interesting partnership.

If this were even remotely true, why would Microsoft be promoting digital downloads so much over xbox live ? They got burned during there half hearted support of HD-DVD and remember those XBOX360-Ultimate rumours with built in HD-DVD & WiFi that never came to pass... We'll this won't either.

That would be an issue with your connection. My PS3 can update a game in about 10 minutes or less.

I doubt it, unless MS is ready to shell out royalties to Sony.
...it all depends on the size of the sodding update. Something that's about 500MB will obviously take longer than 30MB...

I would have punched your friend for being so loud and abnoxious...

Other than that, um i dont see how its possible. It would require sony to work with MS, oh no! haha, who knows, if its profitable for both it could happen.
Now that you mentioned that, I wonder why Sony and Microsoft couldn't just work together...

TO be perfectly honest i can't see it happening.
Microsoft and Sony's rivalry is well documented to anyone with half a working brain, and for them to team up for something like this would be catastrophic, both sets of fanboy/girls would be up in arms about it, boycott the systems and it would go to hell in a hand grenade.

Maybe on day in the future micrsoft will develop a system that has the same sort of specs as blu ray, maybe the x box 720 (don't quote me to that title) will have something similar........?

Only time will tell..........
