What surprises me most is that people should NOT vote for them out of British Pride in the first place, mainly the fact that we fought against Nationalists (NAZI's) in the second world war, and as a nation who thought we were doing the "morally right thing", should rebuke the BNP on the grounds that they are, when it comes down to it, NAZIs.

Also, search for the BBC Documentary wherein a reporter goes undercover into the BNP as a supporter, and digs up facts on a hidden cam.

Heres the link to the first part:

Also, the BNP's main appeal to the masses are the hardline no-nonsense solutions to the problems that ail each individual area, as a couple people have already said. They particularly tout immigration issues in area's where there are still large amounts of racial tension, which sadly, the north DOES seem to have more of. Whether this is due to a disparity of some kind, who knows, but there is more racial TENSION further north, depending on where you go.

The BNP should never be allowed into power, not only are their policies racist to the core, but are also a danger to our economy, and safety as a nation, what do you think OTHER extremist groups, having previously thought of Britain as merely America's lap-dog, are going to do when we start deporting thousands of immigrants?

UKIP have the second largest number of British seats in the EU currently. This is just plain hippocrisy. They weren't the only ones against the EU either taking part. Also, the voters went for the smaller parties as all the big ones are EVIL because of MP expenses and other people showed their pro-anarchistic side by not voting.

Also, the BNP and UKIP have been so successful by blaming the current crisis on immigrants and the EU, similarly to Hitler did with the Jews, Communists and Trade Unionists. That's why they're so successful right now, as people will vote for someone who gives them a cause and targets it in a time of crisis.

I have no problem with the BNP winning 2 seats. Theres another 70 seats In Britain for the EU, they wont make a difference. When they start getting 15% + of the seats is when i'll start worrying.

In my experience with all the Northerners i've met they're usually nicer than we midlanders are. (Cant speak much about the South)

As for following the BNP i think the party suffers from the same affliction most right wing parties suffer: Good intitial ideas with well meaning. Then the racist pigs get in and turn a good idea into a bad one.

I take comfort in the fact that, this country showed some true democratic spark, now to explain, i am not nor would i ever be a supporter of the BNP or their views, but i do take comfort in the fact they have the ability to win seats, as all views need to represented even the ones we find distastful.

The far right and the far left will never get into power/goverment, their views are to polerizing but they still need to be heard, as out of extremes comes ideas never previously thought of and they can be implimented in a scaled back form more consistent with the political leanings of the country.

The only time that either of the extremes gets into power is when there are extreme circumstances when there is no-where else (or at least seems to be) to turn.

Well thats my 2 pence worth anyway.

At least it's not a general election. THAT'S when we start sharpening the pitchforks and lighting the torches. Heh, my friend and I: tore up, stamped on, ran over and burnt one of their leaflets. But we all know who SHOULD be in parliament right now. MONSTER. RAVING. LOONY.

Less likely to be educated, then? If you're so smart, I'll stick to being an "uneducated" northerner.

Its hilarious reading people's comments on BNP sites on facebook.
"yerrrr...lern 2 spk english or get da fuck out of our countrie"
Now, I know that you were making the joke etc, but this is one of the only parts that I (Loki save me) agree with them on. I believe that when in Rome, do as the Romans do. If I was to move to France, to India, to China, wherever, I would be going into THEIR society, so I would be living by THEIR rules. I find it damn rude when I'm in France and I hear someone shout at a waiter or at a shop owner in English, and expect them to understand it.

Long story short- come to the country, fine. If you want to be a local, fine. But that means you live by OUR customs, learn to speak OUR language.

Now... Let the cries of "you racist bastard I'm going to kill you" begin.
Die you racist bastard? I agree with you! Well, to an extent at least. I'm someone who finds it difficult to learn languages, so as long as they know at least the basics well, then it's cool. But I don't agree with "get da fuck out of our countrie". XD

No, I'm from the North and I voted Green Party.
Nobody else I know voted BNP either.
I think people just aren't aware of some of the BNP's connections.
They hide behind a facade of patriotism when really, they're just racist.

Upon seeing the BNP's leaflet which features a Spitfire fighter, my friend's dad exclaimed; "Spitfires? I thought those fought against fascism"

I don't believe that killing the BNP would help. I reckon we should just send them somewhere else with a bucket of British soil.
