Ragging on the dude for mispelling borderlands? really? Come on, at least tell him to qq more scrub or something

Related news, if people want to play with modded stuff, they can go nuts, if you find people joining your game with modded stuff, leave, or host private games, or play singleplayer

semi related news, I was interested in the DLC, but the prices are ridonkulous and i missed out on the steam sale, is General Knoxx the only one worth buying if I was to buy one? Since it seems to add the most content, and I heard Zombie DLC was lame, Moxxi is just arenas and I dont care much for that, and I forget the other one
Yea, General Knoxx is the only one really worth getting; it raises your level cap which is nice, and actually is quite fun to play through, with new vehicles and interesting enemies. Not to mention Crawmerax at the end that I haven't managed to kill yet =(. Jakobs Cove was pretty lack-luster... Just more of the same really except with zombies and was kind of boring. Mad Moxxi's arena is kinda neat, but quite nasty. I think I spent about 5 hours or maybe more, I can't remember, straight doing one of the 20 round fights (stupid no shield modifier) and haven't bothered with it since that. Mad Moxxi's does let you unlock extra talent points though.

As for modded guns, I was under the impression that General Knoxx's expansion fixed the modded guns thing to an extent by only allowing guns that the game itself is capable of producing as possible loot.

Nah, but then again, I don't usually do online server things. I usually just hang out with my friends on our own little server. If we use modded guns, it's usually just for giggles. I mean, I once sent Skagzilla FUH-LYING with a modded shotgun, just so I could laugh my head off at the fact that he flew all the way into the next quest area.

However, I really don't like when the little punks come in on our server (this is when we're not playing on our own server, mind) with their level whatever rocket launcher that's modded to fire like, fifty rockets per clip, each one doing about a billion damage to whoever gets hit by them. That just makes me appreciate both my sniper rifle (I always play sniper; it leaves less room for idiots to shoot me in the back of the head when the baddie moves), and the fact that the bastard with the modded gun is only like, level 10 at the moment.

Pow! You're dead, sucker.

What's hilarious is when they get pissed later. ;D

How long is the General Knoxx content? Couple of hours worth?
I think my friend and I spent a good day or so playing it through, so it's decently sized. I think you could probably say it's about half again the content of the original game, though don't quote me on that. =P

And yeah, I usually just play private games with my friends, so I haven't had any issues with modded guns anyway. Unfortunately many of the friends I play with are a long way away and I get a ping around 300 - 400, and borderlands is pretty terrible with high latency, but I manage.

Actually, those are the real guns.

Some are just massively overpowered.

I had a pistol which could fire like 15 shots per second and a class mod which then almost doubled it and topped off with the "Big Tony says Hi" text, giving it a massive magazine.

The whole point of the game is to find as overpowered of a weapon as possible.
They are sadly not actual guns you can get in game. I know the point of the game is to use the various stats to create a truly powerful character, as your abilities compliment your guns for devastating effect. But the modded weapons are actually just designed to do more damage than you could possibly find naturally in the game. And the whole point of the game is the excitement of finding new and better gear, which is less fun when somebody is throwing around bags of full stat guns.

Borderlands is the single most worst game i have ever played!

Absolutely everything about it is shit!

I would rather try eating a puddle of mud with my heine hole than to play Borderlands again..

I cannot for a second come to understand why anyone at all wants to play it..

I played some coop with a friend for a time. It was pretty awesome getting pinned in a town by raiders, covering eachother while backtracking to the vehicle. Or taking on a multi level raider fortress as a sniper and assault. It has it's moments. Not too much to offer in single player though. And playing with total strangers is meh in this kind of game.

All games have pathetic players. As I am very into Super Street Fighter IV at the moment, I am constantly fighting against fireball spamming Akumas, flaming shoriyuken whoring Kens, and double lariating Zangeif's ((though those guys are easy to beat)))
All games attracted undesirable gamers.

People with modded weapons bug me sometimes(damn them killing everything before I can even aim at anything) but I never ran into too many people who use them.
