Bobby Kotick insults every indie developer on the planet... except Bungie

Who the fuck is this guy and why should I care about his opinion?

Bobby Kotick, he's the C.E.O and "owner" (I say it in quotations because anyone with his IQ should NOT be running a company) of Activision, and subsequently, Blizzard.

Now this does NOT mean that he's a good man. Powerful in the gaming world? Aye. However he's an egotistical cock munch known for saying ALL the wrong things and ego boosting himself about 50 times a second.

I decided I don't like him very much.

Very VERY few in the gaming world too. Bashing him has become commonplace in the forums and whenever a news story comes up about him, we all read to see how he's fucked up now.

We all know he is saying that to make Bungie feel comfortable(or not).
Let's see: Valve was snagged by EA, Ninja Theory by Capcom etc etc. So you see he is basically happy that they got Bungie.

*sigh* People (or rather, some of you): just because the Bobman complimented Bungie doesn't mean you all have to go hating on them. They're good developers - even if you don't like the games they make, they're good for at least 2 reasons:

1) They put time, effort, and love into making their games - and you can feel that when you play them.
2) They listen to their community, and actually implement suggestions.

Actually, I've just realised that the only games developers in the world I really care about are Relic, Bungie, and Bioware. And since Bungie's the only independent one of those, I'm not sure why I care so much about this guy's statement. Maybe his mere existence has just angered my very soul.

I think thats just a tad illegal. Plus, I dont think its possible for multiple people to curb stomp one man. Its sort of a one-time deal.

Bobby Kotick has dismissed the likes of Valve, Epic, Ninja Theory, Level-5, Insomniac, Foundation 9, Gearbox, Sucker Punch, Rebellion and Terminal Reality - by calling Bungie the "last remaining high quality independent developer" in the world. Yep. Wow.

Activision, of course, has embarked on an exclusive ten-year publishing deal with Bungie for its new 'action universe' - widely assumed to be an MMO.


"Bungie are a very unusual company," Kotick told investors last week. "They're probably the last remaining high quality independent developer. It's very hard to [pauses]... that has sort of has institutional skills and capabilities. And they're a real company.

"When they started the process of looking for a new partner, they'd been in business with Microsoft. They had a vision for a product they wanted to create that needed certain skills and capabilities - that Microsoft had some of.

"But as they started to go and look at the obvious candidates, they realised that no company other than Activision had the skills that they needed to be successful for the vision of that product. These are things that you never would have envisioned five years ago.

"Blizzard had 2,500 people in customer service and support just for World Of warcraft. How you train them, how you manage them, how you organise them... how you use CRM tools in delighting and satisfying the expectations of your audiences.. it's something no other company [Bungie] talked to [could offer]."

Activision's alliance with Bungie provide the studio with its first such partnership since it split with former owner Microsoft in 2007.

The studio's Halo Reach topped the official UK Chart this morning - outselling Halo 3's opening week figures.

Meanwhile, Kotick has expressed a wish to sell repackaged in-game cutscenes to gamers as $30 movies.

Activision only makes money off of the developers inventions, they sponcer games and bobby "dumbfuck" kotick is just a greedy fuck who just is trying to squease every cent out of the gaming community and the worst of all he know people are too stupid and buy all the over priced crap(hence the $15 cod4 rerelease maps). Ill be happy once i see activision file for bankruptcy and kotick holding a sign out on the street saying he'll give head for food.
