Yes, working is not the end all be all of existence, but if you think that you don't need a job to get by in life, then you're delusional, and if you think that any mentally sane employer will hire you when you look like that then you're even more delusional.
I guess you have never been to a tattoo or piercing place, the guy's there are basically like this and make a decent living from doing what they love.

I see nothing really wrong with body-modding, even the more "extreme" ones(like the ones shown in the first post). Everyone has the right to do what they wish with their bodies and all that jazz. Honestly, you like what you like, and it should really just end there. I'm planning to get an implant and some tats, but it will be on places I can cover up.

I do on the other hand understand the views of the people who do not approve or appreciate this. As stated earlier in this post, you like what you like, right?

For me, it's more about the person than the modifications. See, I've met a couple of people who have extreme body-mods, and most of them have been kind and generally nice. Some, on the other hand, have not been so kind. I once got into a fight with some dude who had Nordic tats on his face because I was looking at them, and that's not really cool.

People that dont need to have a normal job can get away with this...

On the other hand most employers would see this person walk in for an interview and say, thanks for coming by, good day.

Yes, I have seen them, and many of them ARE like this, and I do think that this is one of the few legitimate jobs that they could get looking like this, but it makes me wonder something, if the guys who get these very extreme body mods do the similar work for someone else, what do they end up doing? I mean, there can't possibly be enough tattoo artist jobs to cover all of the nutjobs that started doing this. Not ALL of them can possibly be tattoo artists.

How is this any different from expressing your disgust at transgendered individuals?
And where exactly are you seeing this connection?

People doing what they want to their own bodies, for reasons they should not need to justify to anybody.

Well, yes, they do look strange.
But none of them looked particularly starved now, did they?
So it follows they do have a living, even if you don´t know how.

Ignorance does not make the things you don´t know impossible.
I would not want to look like this, I find it very cringeworthy. But that is my problem, not theirs.
And just saying that you are fine with beeing judged does not in fact give you the right to judge others.

Why the hell are you choosing to go on this website to say that? Don't you know people will get angry at you?

See, some people are willing to risk certain things to express themselves. Everything has a result, even if you don't want to see it happen.

I hope the guys in the latter two images never have to go for an MRI or ever work anywhere near sources of strong electromagnetic fields. It won't be pretty.

I think you're just looking for something to be offended about.

I'd never go for anything like that in a million years - I don't want a piercing and, aside from maybe a couple of small ones, I wouldn't want a tattoo. Stretchers and spacers completely creep me out, especially when they're over about a centimetre in diameter. I'm sorry if I offend, but that shit is disgusting. When I see those enormous holes in the ear lobes, I can only think of them being caught on something and torn... ugh! I just thought of it now! Massive cringe ensues >.<

So yeah, definitely not for me. But hey, their bodies are theirs, they can put whatever they want in or on them, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else (which none of this seems to).
