I have a piercing through the upper cartilage of one of my ears. I've considering getting it doubled and/or getting one or both lobes pierced at some point, but never gone through with it. I also like the way some lip piercings look, though I could never get one as I'd never be able to stop messing with it.
I'm not really into surface piercings and those tiny piercings some girls get in their nose (the little twinkle) bother me immensely. It just looks like some half-assed attempt to be edgy with a simultaneous desire not to alienate anyone. They remind me of stereotypical airheaded sorority girls. Nipple or genital piercings would just worry me if I were ever involved with anyone sporting them.

Totally not a fan of "body modification", think it looks ridiculous and basically outright says "I have never seriously thought about holding a respectable job."
Just this.
I hate most tatoos, all piercings, apart from a nice earing set on a girl, but the rest makes them look either slutty, chavvy and just downright stupid.
I know quite a few people with very respectable jobs and piercings. Many of the most respectable jobs require such a degree of training that, if you can survive to find a job and you bear some distinction in your training, they really tend not to care so much what holes you have in your body - the piercing equivalent of the House principle. And in many places in the US, it's simply the case that
no one really cares.
And I can't even count the number of people I know in respectable positions with unobtrusive piercings or tattoos (ie a small tattoo on the ankle or back, a few extra ear piercings, some of the more easily concealable surface piercings, or even nipple piercings).
