I have one silver stud in my left ear and thats it. Im actually told it looks totally sweet simply because its so "minimalistic" and its awesome that I "beat the cravings for more piercings."
I never had any cravings for more, I only got it because my friends cinvinced me that it was wierd to be 19 (im 21 now) an not have either piercings or a tattoo. Ah well, I like it, it gives me something to play with when I'm incredibly bored.

I have a piercing through the upper cartilage of one of my ears. I've considering getting it doubled and/or getting one or both lobes pierced at some point, but never gone through with it. I also like the way some lip piercings look, though I could never get one as I'd never be able to stop messing with it.

I'm not really into surface piercings and those tiny piercings some girls get in their nose (the little twinkle) bother me immensely. It just looks like some half-assed attempt to be edgy with a simultaneous desire not to alienate anyone. They remind me of stereotypical airheaded sorority girls. Nipple or genital piercings would just worry me if I were ever involved with anyone sporting them.

Just this.
I hate most tatoos, all piercings, apart from a nice earing set on a girl, but the rest makes them look either slutty, chavvy and just downright stupid.
I know quite a few people with very respectable jobs and piercings. Many of the most respectable jobs require such a degree of training that, if you can survive to find a job and you bear some distinction in your training, they really tend not to care so much what holes you have in your body - the piercing equivalent of the House principle. And in many places in the US, it's simply the case that no one really cares.

And I can't even count the number of people I know in respectable positions with unobtrusive piercings or tattoos (ie a small tattoo on the ankle or back, a few extra ear piercings, some of the more easily concealable surface piercings, or even nipple piercings).

I have a standard one in my eyebrow. Was thinking about getting a second one in my eyebrow so I can get myself a spiral.

I'm on the same wave-length here. Besides, your actually punching holes into your flesh. I mean, with a tatoo your just putting ink in but that's...*shivers*

I'm cool with piercing except for the nose. I can't stand nose rings.

I've had 4 over the year. Two in the left and both my nipples. The latter never healed properly so I took them out after a little over a year. The ears....I just took out one day and forgot about. By the time it stuck me the holes had closed and I've not had a strong desire to get them redone.

Ear is okay but anything else that is obvious makes me question your suitability for a long term relationship. I will admit to a certain curiosity about a guy with a tongue piercing but that is as far as it goes.
To me it just doesn't show talent, intelligence or even uniqueness on your part to get piercings or artwork on your skin. The guys I have dated with tattoos were able to show me they were intelligent and had a personality that was interesting in spite of having tattoos. And anyone I see with things on their face, knuckles, something that is just overly large or too many just doesn't interest me at all.
