The setting of American Gods as an MMO. Dunno what the plot might be, but damn in Gaiman's a genious, and it's a funky setting (at least, imo).
Sorry to double post but i really do agree with youawesomebillfromdawsonville said:As soon as I saw this thread, the first thing I thought was...I wonder how long it'll take before someone mentions Twilight. NO!!!! NO FUCKING TWILIGHT!!!! I'd rather play a game based on a turtle pet care book. No redeeming value in Twilight. None whatsoever. Not to be offensive, but there's nothing redeeming in dating sims either. Those games are just creepy. It's like rapist training. Last thing we need are 13 year old twats getting vampire-themed rapist training. The only vampire game we should ever see again is Castlevania. No Twilight. NO!
LOL! So fucking nice!!!! I always thought they should have come out with a "Hot said:The Bible- MMORTS
Play as a number of Prophets and Semi-Deities in order to continue your domination of the world. Start at Genesis, work your way through the old-testament characters, battling idolizers and gentiles etc with the wrath of God.
DLC- The Koran.
O NO I DIDN't!!!!111one
Amen. Double posting is completely acceptable when it comes to shit like Twilight even remotely trying to cross the line.geon106 said:Sorry to double post but i really do agree with youawesomebillfromdawsonville said:As soon as I saw this thread, the first thing I thought was...I wonder how long it'll take before someone mentions Twilight. Great minds and all that. Eisenhorn or someone similar could work in an environment like quite well, ravenor probably not as much... I mean who wants to control a strange metal wedge.Sonicron said:God damn! 10 posts in and already I find my thoughts mirrored.
Fine, while we're on the subject: I think something like the Eisenhorn novels made into a game would work particularly well as a KotOR-like RPG. Most of the time an Inquisitor is (in my opinion) essentially a sort of investigator who has to infiltrate every kind of social circle there is in order to get the right answers, with some minor scuffles along the way and a bombastic epic battle at the end of a case. Fits quite well with KotOR in style, right down to the party of people you drag around with you, seeing how Inquisitors tend to have a team of agents with different specialties working for them.
That game is awesome, worst voice acting ever notwithstanding.geon106 said:howabout the Dictionary?
In the form of a FPS game? It'll be like Typing of the Dead
Preferbly made by Oxford Games![]()
Works for me. A mix of adventure game and shooting gameplay would make a good game about the Inquisition.Sonicron said:God damn! 10 posts in and already I find my thoughts mirrored.Rusman said:Get out.BlindTom said:Twilight dating sim anyone?
OT: One of Dan Abnett "Inquisitor" books may work. If not a FPS based around the Gaunt's Ghost series.

Ravenor could work, but only before he got burnt.Rusman said:Great minds and all that. Eisenhorn or someone similar could work in an environment like quite well, ravenor probably not as much... Also moral choice could work quite well, are you puritan and just fighting of heretics and Xenos or a bit radical using the power of the warp to your advantage... or just somewhere boring in the middle.
Make that a 'DEFINITELY' on the rpg style conversations and customizable equipment. That's essentially my point: As an Inquisitor you have to rely on your charisma (or your abilities to intimidate, if you're a hardass) and diplomatic skills most of the time, and I don't really see any other way of doing that if not as an rpg.AmrasCalmacil said:Works for me. And if it had quicktime events? Press X to insert excruciator where the sun don't shine!
Perhaps even RPG style conversations and customisation.
Indeed, the ability to choose whether to, to vaugely quote Amberley Vail, run around like a grox in a ceramics emporium or actually get to the enemies of the Imperium without them knowing you're coming, would be essential.Sonicron said:Make that a 'DEFINITELY' on the rpg style conversations and customizable equipment. ACTIONS:
- Broody Stare
- Sparkle
- Make Babies
- Bite Someone
Well Ravenor would just be part of your team if you play as Eisenhorn then. Yeah there'd have to be important changes, I think its Ordos Malleus you mean though, it'd be worth it just to punch Heldane in his smug wolf/bear/horse face.Sonicron said:Ravenor could work, but only before he got burnt.Rusman said:Great minds and all that. And I agree about the moral choice system, but only if the consequences of your choices have actual impact on the gameplay. If I start using daemonhosts and the like to beat my opponents I don't just want people who know about it to shun me, I want - nay, demand - half the Ordo Hereticus on my Radical ass.
If it ever gets made, though, I know at least one person who'll crucify it on sight or possibly smother it to death with his silly hat.![]()
