Deltora quest those books were only about 100 pages but were extremely bad ass. There should have been a movie about them or something.

I'd love to play as a Nazi for once...
I'm tired of being Joe McAmerica or Vlad Russiaosky... I wanna be the bad guy for once! I wanna be the Italian soldier for once! I wanna be the Japanese soldier for once! I wanna be the Nazi for once, damn it! This, for sure. If it means I get to play as a Nazi, then yes...
I was actually kidding with that one but I suppose it would only be made if you magically had a change of heart 15 mins before the end and went and *****-slapped Hitler.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind seeing a game based on the Wheel of Time books. I can even think of how it might be good.

...

Yes, I'm fully aware that there was a WoT game. No, it doesn't count.
But it was a decent game. They managed to turn The Wheel of Time's high-fantasy hack-n-slashing into a FPS!

i think Terry Pratchet's Mort would be an awesome game
(for the unenlightened, Mort is about a boy who becomes Death's apprentice)

I would have to second 1984. Not really making the book's story into the games story, but a game in that universe would be sick.

Death Gate Cycle I think could translate into a game series. I remember that a computer game version of Fire Sea (the 4th book) was made. I never got to play it though so I don't know how well a job they did with it.

A few. The Sabriel/Lirael/Abhorsen trilogy could be pretty fantastic as a game, using the Bells as weaponry.

A proper game done about the Eisenhorn series would also be pretty badass.

But it won't happen. Books -> Games rarely happen by themselves that are any good. Most often it's Book -> Movie -> Movie Tie-in game -> Proper game done without restricting itself to the movie.

A properly done Ender's Game.
I dont know about that, but a new Zone of the enders would be nice. Lol, Sadly that is an actual quote from this site, cant find the link or who said it.

But a Dark Tower Game would be cool, or The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss would be cool.

Even a Dune mmo, or anything actually good by Clive Barker(I.e not Demoniac or Jericho)...maybe Imajica...anyone?

In that case, go get Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts or/and Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor as well as the original Company of Heroes.

OF and ToV both let you play as axis forces, there are 6 campaigns in the entire game, one long in the original CoH, two long ones in the OF-expansion and 3 short ones in the ToV-expansion. Two of the short ones in ToV and one of the long campaigns in OF let you play as the germans (beware: the Falaise pocket-campaign is really, really boring and a little buggy). I also recommend it otherwise because it is a great RTS with a immersive multiplayer (trust me, when playing this you can lose the conciousness of time, I was gaming together with two friends of mine when we suddenly noticed that two of us should've left approx 30 mins ago for the last train that night, it was a long, long way home).

Back on topic, 1984 has a movie already, it is called the beginning of Half-Life 2, but since games can't let the main character suffer defeat early, it becomes a sci-fi shooter ;)

My suggestion: Ender's game. Make the space-battles into logic-RTS-puzzles and the simulation-battles (in that gravity-free and sentripetal-free room) into some kind of innovative shoot'em'up with all kinds of fancy gadgets. Hard to do, but worth it if you manage to pull it off. I havn't seen a shoot'em'up seen from FPP where you battle somewhere there's no forces that affect you, so that you can bounce around. If you know of one, let me know. And of course, if possible: incorporate both CO-OP and versus multi-player (not just 2p for versus)
