I'm not sure if it's been done, and I don't care enough to look in the search bar.

So what book series or book would you like turned into a game?
Personally, I would like Paula Volsky's 'The Wolf of Winter,' 'Illusion,' 'The Grand Ellipse,' 'Gates of Twilight,' 'The White Tribunal,' and 'The Luck of Relian Kru' all mashed up into two or three discs with the whole world in it... The books are all set in different time periods though, so I'm not sure how that would work, but it would somehow. It would be one giant puzzle/adventure/RPG/stealth game with an open world.
Wishful thinking, but that is what I want people to do here.

Alice in Wonderland.

I haven't read it, it just seems like the sort of thing that could be really interesting as a game.

Edit: due to people STILL quoting me to say it has been made into a game, I'll add that I am now well aware of American Mcgee's Alice. Please stop telling me, it's getting annoying.

The Dresden Files.

Vampires, Werewolves, Wizards, Gangsters... er... Chicago?

It could be an awesome open world game and Jim Butcher could put together an awesome storyline

A Consider Phlebas game would be interesting. I'd see it as a first-person FPS/adventure game for the most part, with one or two vehicle sections for flying the spaceships. Of course, you could have those in first-person as well, so it would be the same game mechanics, but with bigger guns.

Try American McGee's Alice. BTW does anyone know where I can get that in the UK? Looking all over and only ebay has it...

I'd go for the entire Three Worlds cycle by Ian Irvine. And anyone who's read it knows how massive that undertaking will be... In fact, I'd love to see an MMO set over the 250 years the series takes place in... that would be epically awesome :D

Nope, no idea what you are talking about. I know very little about gaming.

Okay!!!! Will people PLEASE stop quoting me telling me there is a game based on the book???? I know this now, I was just attempting to join in the conversation, and now you have proved how little I know about gaming, I'll crawl back to Off-Topic discussion. Goodbye!

American Gods and Hithciker's Guide to the Galaxy (the book's a lot better than the movie) they're both incredibly good for completely different reasons one has a compelling serious in-depth mythology storyline, whereas the other one is hilarious, though if they ever make those games, I'm sure I'd be thoroughly dissapointed as is always the case.

Also Neuromancer would probably make a great game, unfortunately I can't remember the plot really, just that it was good (awesome title too)
