Has been done before, I suggested the Lay of Leithian. Or more specifically the story of Beren and Luthien as told in the Silmarillion.
Big fan of these books, bought all 3 series.. I don't really know how we'll they'd translate to a game though. I can only imagine it as an Assassin's Creed style ripoff, and it really would not do them justicerdaleric said:the assassin and fool books by robin hobb
True enough, but don't you ever just wonder how a book you like would be played as a game? What ever book you say, is most likely not going to be made. It's just how you would like a certain book to be played if it were a game.aperpheldy said:I WOULD say a book, but as we learn from film and game cross overs, THEY DON'T WORK. I am too afraid my favorite books would be burnt before my eyes. keep them seperate please!

I haven't read it, it just seems like the sort of thing that could be really interesting as a game.
That point has already been well established sir. May I redirect you to this: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.107514#1788488captainwillies said:already done http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_McGee%27s_AliceGeek@Heart said:Alice in Wonderland.

LOL thats what you get for first posting in ignorant innocence :3Geek@Heart said:Okay!!!! Will people PLEASE stop quoting me telling me there is a game based on the book???? I know this now, I was just attempting to join in the conversation, and now you have proved how little I know about gaming, I'll crawl back to Off-Topic discussion. Goodbye!
Hitchhiker's Guide has been made into a tremendously difficult adventure game written by Adams. Neuromancer was also made into a game but I don't believe it followed the book much.accountant said:American Gods and Hithciker's Guide to the Galaxy (the book's a lot better than the movie) they're both incredibly good for completely different reasons one has a compelling serious in-depth mythology storyline, whereas the other one is hilarious, though if they ever make those games, I'm sure I'd be thoroughly dissapointed as is always the case.
Also Neuromancer would probably make a great game, unfortunately I can't remember the plot really, just that it was good (awesome title too)
thats the one with the bastard son and the "wit" right? personally that would make a terrible game, unless they made it heavy on that story with a more walk about puzzle adventure in a castle feel to it. but no game company wants to do that, they found the formula that prints money and it inolves blood and space marines.rdaleric said:the assassin and fool books by robin hobb
