I would like to see Fevre Dream by George RR Martin made into a movie, or could make a RTS style game based around his A Song of Fire and Ice books, The Unsullied FTW.

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King would be a perfect tv show. They would need some serious talent to pull it off properly.
I totally agree I finally had time to read all the books in the series. My friends who read it before me said I would be disappointed at the end, they were wrong, I loved it. For a Dark tower game, I would like to see a KOTOR type action RPG where your decisions affect the characters and plot of the game. Those that read the series would know what i'm getting at;)

Another book/Series i would like to see made as movie or game would be the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz. Especially the First book

The Halo books.

Wait a minute...
Pime Taradox.
I don't get it. Why would you say Time Paradox but switch the first two letters to that?

Incidentally, since the first Halo movie project (one with an original plot not focused on Master Chief) died they've decided to make a movie based on Halo: The Fall of Reach.

Thinking back to some of the books I read a *long* time ago that haven't been mentioned:

The, Betrayal at Krondor, series of books could turn into an interesting movie ___-ogy, just depends on how many movies they wanted to make.

On a side note, I heard rumors that someone was intending to make movies out of the Wheel of Time story...though I don't see any realistic method of doing so.

How about the Animorphs as a game? Run around beating up people as whatever animal you felt like being at the time.

Edit: Yes, yes, YES to Redwall!

World War Z by Max Brooks.

Mind you I never read the book itself but I know it portrays a "realistic" zombie infested world, with none of that nonsense from Resident Evil and much more complex than a simple Dawn of the Dead.

I'd really enjoy this being made into a game because I don't think there was ever a game that actually focused on simply surviving zombie hordes. Most zombie games simply mean reaching the end of the game without being killed by the enemy, which are zombies. But there's not really anything like preparing your safehouses; paying attention to the terrain you're on; moving from place to place to resupply or simply run away; finding survivors and establish a group you might lead, taking the game to a different level.

Something it'd make you want to read The Zombie Survival Guide as your actual game guide to help you out.

The Wheel of Time could work in a mini-series, but even then it would be ludicrously long.
I would say as a series of twelve movies by Peter Jackson, but honestly, as much as I loved those books, a lot of them was unnecessary fluff that could be profitably left out of movies. Maybe a trilogy, if this last book doesn't suck. I don't think a mini-series could support the graphics budget to do them right.

Metal Gear Solid..... oh wait they did that with MGS 4, a full length feature film with 10 minutes of playing *sighs*.

Uhm... Bloody Roar? Altered Beast?

I also support the idea of The Dark Tower as a TV series.

Several I can think of (and amazingly, this becomes life imitates art imitates life)

1. The various Republic Commando novels. Yes, I know there's already a Republic Commando game. I fucking want more.

2. The Space Wolves trilogy. Yes, I know it's set in the WH40K universe and there's already shitloads of other games set there but dammit, if I can't have DoW2 yet I'd like a WH40K FPS which lets me be a half-wolf Space Marine with a chainsword.

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Wolfgar is badass.

A good movie of Hergé's The Adventures of Tintin. We'll just have to wait and see, won't we? [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tintin_(film)]

Ender's game. Seriously, why haven't they picked up on this yet? It's perfect material for a movie or game.

The quasi-official sequel to The Time MAchine, Timeships, would make a great movie. It's a really detailed story, true to the original book, unlike the most recent movie. The Timeships story is long enough to join it with the original story and create a great movie series, at least a trilogy.

Oh, and about any Terry Pratchett book (thanks for Hogfather, and thanks in advance for The Colour Of Magic :)), especially THUD!

Aw come on it wasn´t that bad. It looked like crap (especially Death), yeah, but at least they took the exact dialogues from the book.
