Boots + Skirt

I do it all the time, and I've had no complaints. Quite the opposite. I know lots of women who do.

I have no idea why she thinks sandals are the only thing appropriate to wear with a skirt, unless she's got issues with something you're intending to wear that she thinks its "inappropriate" and can't come up with another argument. But there will be situations, such as work, where sandals may not be appropriate but dress boots would be which would negate her argument.

I think it's fine. Granted, not all boots go with all skirts, but on the whole, it's a good combo.

I've kind of wondered the same thing myself. Too bad I'm not much of a skirt-wearer myself to really have much input.

It really depends on the kind of skirt coupled with the kind of boots. Some combos look great together while others look downright nasty.

Sure, boots with skirt is fine, if you worry about it looking a bit too alluring, wear leggings with em. Not that that makes it less attractive but it should deflect most of the vulgar types and worried parents.

I can see your mom's point, though. It's hot, you wear a skirt, it's hot, you wear sandals with it. But I still see nothing wrong with boots and a skirt.

Well, boots are generally worn during the cold while skirts are associated with warmer weather, so I see where she comes from.

But clothes have long since stopped being mere protection against the elements. I don't mind seeing girls wear this, though I think my girlfriend would side with your mother.
