To me, it's just something to keep me busy while I wait for the level cap increase. It has the usual silly Borderlands humor and focuses on gladiator matches, which I think is great. I also love the fact that Tiny Tina returns, because uhh.. well, it's Tiny Tina, what more do you want.

However, there's this nagging feeling that I'm having, telling me it could've been so much more. The enemies for instance, are just the same Jason Voorhees caricatures with a different fashion sense, and there's even one boss that looks EXACTLY like she's Ellie's evil twin sister. And also the environments could've been a tad less bland and run-off-the-mill.

I haven't played a whole lot of it, but I sure hope it's longer than the disappointingly short Scarlett DLC.

EDIT: On a sidenote, I can't click the legendaries in the torgue vending machines to see how much they cost. Is this some kind of bug or do I need to unlock them first?

It's a lot shorter than Scarlett's DLC. I finished it in an afternoon. Most of the unique guns from it have to be bought with Torque Tokens, which require tons of grinding to get. (The highest rank TT mission gives 25 coins per run, and there's always the chance that you could fail)

The loot is VERY disappointing as well. The final boss of the DLC can easily be killed without putting yourself in any kind of danger (Which I had to do, because at level 50, the boss would easily 1-2 shot me and trying to shoot his crit area can end up getting your shots reflected back at you). Then the Vault opened and spewed out loot! Except it was literally about 15 guns and only one purple. Also, one of the harder bosses of the DLC doesn't give you any loot when you kill it either.

Story was okay, characters were great, but the mechanics sucked.

Edit for your edit: Torque vending machines require Torque Tokens to purchase. They're orange with a big T on them. Just look where the price would normally be and you'll see 'em.

How is that even possible? o.o

I know that, I have over 200 of the things now. I just can't hover over the legendaries in the vending machines, only the blue and purples, it's really odd.

Oh right, that. Use the arrow keys. The PC version has horrendous problems with interfaces for some reason.

Legendarys cost like 650~.

Edit: As for length...well...let's just say that when you kill Big Momma, you're just over halfway through it.

Wait waaaaaaaait, hold up.

Back up, the level cap has not been increased? D:

That's so mean dude. >~>

I have my Gaige just sitting there. Once I noticed that the enemies were actually going higher levels and I was stuck at 50 while they were popping guns at 51-52 etc. I stopped playing. Just add another 10 levels guys! D:

I just saw a couple of comparisons to Moxxi's Underdome, and then a dozen follow-ups from the devs like "it's actually much better than Moxxi's, honest". Eh, it was always going to be a filler being so soon out after the last one.

Missing the point though... it's MR. TORGUE. Featuring EXCESSIVE use of CAPITAL LETTERS. DLCs not made out of FREAKIN WOOD. BASTARD DLCs for BASTARD people.

This actually was much better than Moxxi's. Instead of having to fight fifty billion waves of enemies, you just fight five waves of normal enemies, then five bosses and it's over.

Cheers mate, that worked.
Question though, why are all the daily items level 48? Are there any level 50 legendaries at all or am I just having bad luck here?

Bad luck.

I've seen a couple 50's so far. The only one that looked semi-interesting was a grenade mod, since my only other legendary 'nade mod is Warrior's and it sucks.

I absolutely hate that the game expects me to be fully kitted out with Legendary's at level 50 but gives a ridiculously abysmal drop rate for them. I have two non-100% Legendary's after 230~ hours of play (Most of it spent grinding), and neither of them are from boss drops. They were from vending machines. (By non-100%, I mean not counting things like the Firehawk shield)

Edit: I'm referring to the health of the penultimate boss in the DLC. SO MUCH FUCKIN' HEALTH.

I am beginning to feel it. That creeping feeling of regret at having bought a DLC season pass for the first time in my life. Torgue's so-called campaign passes time, but I was looking for more.

Yeah, I was looking for something more along the lines of Dr. Zed's zombie nightmare or General Knoxx. So far, Torgue just feels like a mission pack. I actually did enjoy Scarlet quite a bit though.

I liked the sound track for it, the final boss was cool as hell but yeah there is that little spot that makes you untouchable. I HATED those motorcycle dudes and disappointed you can't ride them yourself. I have over 400 tokens trying to get this badass legendary grenade i saw, and I then come across some slot machines not realizing they took tokens, I have 200 now =(.

I finally saw the trailer, and it looks way better than Booty. I cannot stress how little fun I had with Booty. About the only thing I liked were the Treasure quests and Mr. Bubbles.

I totally want to get DLC2, but my TV is still messed up, and my PC (which is working atm for no reason) has been messed up almost since my TV.

It fails to boot properly and gives me 6 beeps, which may be the motherboard, but for whatever reason on the off chance it DOES boot up it runs perfectly fine for as long as I need it to.

Aside from the amber light glowing inside of it of course. I probably need to clean it out, but aside from that basic process I have no idea what I would need to do beyond that.

The DLC has Moxxie and Tina, and a Truckasaurus...so they would need to mess up pretty big to ruin the DLC. Booty's NPCs were easily some of my least favorite in any game I've ever played. The cursed pirates though were a nice touch. Nothing makes me crap myself like seeing 2 of them running at me, or cutting me up from behind.

Oh that feeling set in about 2 minutes in to the new DLC when I realised that my lvl 50 Mechromancer was having to take on guys two or three levels above her in TVHM and that despite having 67,000 in shield and nothing but level 50 purples I would die with 2 hits but needed to hit them about 300 times to kill them.

Not an issue generally go away do some grinding, level up come back and try again except that I am already using level 50 weapons, I am already at level 50 their is no way to make my character more powerful. Then of course the arena fights are the usual, cluster fuck of enemy after enemy appearing at random and all of them gang beating your ass.

You get to level 50 in a game you want to feel like you have a bit of power under you belt but taking on enemies who are ALWAYS going to be more powerful, not just by a little bit but by MILES, making you feel like you are doing worse than when you were a lvl 1 with no skills, a pathetic shield and a peashooter for a weapon, really does destroy the desire to keep playing the game.

Oh then you can also add in the fact that if, IF, you do happen to find a weapon, shield, skill or combo set that gives you a significant edge chances are it will get nerfed in an update, the Bee shield anyone?

I gotta agree that a level cap increase is really badly needed at this point. Also enemies should not be over lvl 50 in my opinion, unless players can level up over 50 as well. If 50 is the cap, it should be the cap for everyone. Pump up enemies in TVHM in other ways, but don't give them a higher level advantage as well.

I definitely feel that the level design in Mr. Torgue's to be better than Captain Scarlett, and as far as i can tell the bonus bosses dont get pissy when you trounce them and sit in a bolt hole masturbating for a day. Which is a definite plus.

The humour is more consistent here, if a bit watered down compared to the main game. Mr Torgue screaming into a ECHO recorder for your entertainment comprises about 30% of the total dialouge as far as i can tell, and surprisingly i didnt feel compelled to turn off my sound. Overall it beats the long slogs of nothing that Captain Scarlett often laid out.

You're in for a big surprise, because they still managed to cock it up somehow. I've played a bit more now, over half of it and my enthusiasm has gone completely flatline now.

I'm still baffled by the way you have to track down Big Momma. First Tiny Tina 'trains' you by having you fetch cookies from vending machines, then destroying the machines because the cookies aren't chocolate chip, because this in some way helps you prepare for a fight with a hippo on a motorbike. And then Moxxi has you drive around a track for 3 laps until Motor Mama decides it's time to call you up and reveal her location. How the bloody hell does that even make sense in any way whatsoever?? It just seemed like they went "Oh, but we still have to include Tina in this DLC because she was so popular. That's okay, we'll just have her make the player do something completely arbitrary and cover that up by throwing in some new one-liners, they won't notice!"

Honestly, don't get this unless you're a fan with a season pass and going for completion.
I don't even feel like playing it all the way through now, and I probably won't.

Raising the level cap would honestly ruin the game. Enemies scale better than the player does- significantly. I could send Deathtrap/Turrets in and have them slaughter everything up till level 30~. Then the turrets started getting beat up pretty good and Deathtrap was noticeably less effect. Now at level 50, they're barely even good for drawing aggro anymore.

Unless scaling is changed...yeah. It'll just be terribad in the end. Half of Axton and Salvadore's skill trees become worthless because everything 1-3 shots you as it is.

The dialogue and feature set puts it as some sort of superior version of Moxxi's Underdome, but the game seriously needs a level cap increase if they want me to do this shit on second playthrough. The gameplay perspective definitely leaves something to be desired.

Mr. TORGUE is endearing as all hell though: despite his loud, excessive, ADHD-riddled demeanor, he's actually reasonably intelligent. His back-and-forths with Moxxi are real gems. Like his attempts at sexual innuendo.
