Thanks, I had originally decided not to try this game because I thought the bad-guys looked like the stereotypical "Mad Max" style of bad-guy (and they still do, and that still kind of makes me mad), but it sounds good enough for me to rent and try out. Nice review.

Theere are many enemies in the game. Though, granted, a few do look similar.

Just throwing this out there for the people who have been having some issues with the difficulty: try co-op. I haven't even played the game yet (yes, I fess up ;P), but it sounds to me from other reviews that having buddies play alongside you, fulfilling another role with a different class helps out a lot, even if the difficulty is raised some to compensate for having allies. I've found this concept to be true with plenty of other games.

Anyways, just a thought-mostly curious on feedback from those who have had trouble in single player.

Enjoying the crap out of this game. It is a bit difficult, but I'm enjoying that even more. Got it on 360 and it my official new "Stressed," game. Something about punching things to death in berserker mode while giggling like a schoolgirl is just... awesome.

Nice review.

My question, does it have local multiplayer? I'll be getting it either way, but it'd be nice if i could get my friends to play something other than Nazi Zombies when they're over.
It does have splitscreen

Because gearbox is awesome. Fucking nothing has split screen anymore, the dicks, but this does.

As per the difficulty, it really depends on your guns and level. For instance I tried to do one mission and got totally shreded by some bandits. So I went, did some side missions, leveled up and found myself a sweet revolver (it fires 7 shots with each bullet and can tear a man clean in half) and when I came back the mission was a snap. Its only REALLY hard if you just try and charge through without leveling.

Oh and a shield with a health recharge feature is a godsend. That and a good shotgun.

Fucking skags.

I'll probably do a review of it at some point too.
Yeah, unfortunately thats what im like with most games, charging through them. Reality hit me though when trying to kill that 'Sledge' bloke.. Jesus christ, fuck you gearbox, that was ridiculous.
haha I killed sledge in three shots with my sniper rifle. All three were criticals and had flame damage with a gun I was just barely high enough level to use.

I can tell you first-hand that starting with the second playthrough, co-op is MUCH more difficult than single-player. It seems to me the enemies scale up to 5 or maybe even 10 times their normal health, and can basically one-shot you. This is in addition to there being more enemies and more "Badass/BadMutha" enemies around. You also get to fight over drops with your buddies!

The Skag packs in Playthrough 2 are especially devastating. They get more armor, they seem to charge a lot faster, and they can survive multiple Sniper Critical Hits. Co-Op Playthrough 2 is no joke.

Agreed with the difficulty. I am only level 10 (I got the game 2 hours ago) and there have been a few parts where I kept dying (Bone Head Especially). Since I am Brick, I found that the best way to win was to wait until your health was pretty low and then go into Berserker mode. Full Health + Awesomeness = Dead Boss.

Thing I found worked with Sledge was killing off all the minions first* and then running round one of the big pillars, occasionally dropping a Scorpio Turret when it recharged, then turning and grenading/loosing off a clip. Assault Rifles with a full-auto function are especially nice against bosses. Of course, that's just with Roland. Next run through is gonna be with Brick, and I'm just gonna beat him to death with his bare hands...

*I... I didn't think of this first time, so I'm putting it out there, just in case.

You are right about the difficulty, it's near impossible playing by yourself.

I love the game, its on of my favorites, but the level cap needs to be raised with the DLC coming out (thats right, DLC for it is coming out in december I believe, correct me if im wrong though. It needs to be raise to something like 70 or more (did the math, at level 120 would be were all skills will be maxed out). The reason being is I did an 11 hour marathon of my second play through with 2 other friends yesterday and I found it easier getting from level 49-50 than getting from 10-11. If they do increase the level cap they also need to make it more than 2 play throughs...

BTW, if you want power leveling of you character, me and my friends will be happy to oblige. MY XBL tag is nitemarez444. Level 51 skagzillas and levle 51 rakk hives are fun to kill!

Cool game. Would have been tons better if you could create a character and there was armor to wear instead of just weapons.
Exactly what I was thinking, but then with any luck they'll add it in future DLC :)

I agree with the leveling, it took me longer to get from 10-20 than it took me to get from 20-37, the whole last part of the game seems to be one big exp fest.

Yea, I agree. I hit level 50 on my Hunter yesterday and it really went by fast. The leveling curve doesn't increase as much as it probably should (meaning it takes about the same time for each level throughout the whole game). I'd say it took me 35-45 minutes per level average for levels 40 through 50. I'm really hoping they raise the level cap to at least 60.
