Borderlands- Diablo meets Mad Max- a recipe for success?

This year 2k is releaseing Borderlands, a diablo esque game with over 500,000 different variations of guns armor and cars (500k of each is rumored). With random generating levels, different classes with a fallout 3 leveling system and 4 player coop, I believe that this game has the potential to be one of the better games of the year. I wanna hear your thoughts about what you're interested in with this game or what you think will cause it to crash and burn.

I'm interested in the game, but i'm fearing it's going to have many repeated boss fights in an attempt to get the Shotgun of Holy Righteousness +5 agility + 20 holy resistence. Anywho, i want the developers to take their time and make the game live up to the hype and potential.
I'm looking forward to it.

I would definitely buy that. I love me my Diablo II, and having a similar game but in a different setting would be interesting. Looking forward to it.

It's a FPS/Action game and I am definitely looking forward to this game.

I'm hopeful but wary, we can't really be sure what is coming until it comes out. Who knows, it might turn out to be a buggy mess or the best game of the year. It's happened before, sometimes producers get so infatuated with their own creation they forget what a piece of crap/average it is.

I've seen video previews and they really need to fix the camera on the 3rd person viewpoint on the vehicle sections. Make it more like Halo: CE.

Any game with over 500,000 guns is worth a look at in my books! From the couple of previews floating around the internet, it sounds quite good. Customizable cars, car battles and the inclusion of rumour-spread quests - Say the mayor of a town asks you to kill some raiders, the merchant might hear about this, and ask you to retrieve their weapons for a reward.

I think its gonna be one of those hit or miss games - really good or horrible.

And yes, I'm totally stoked about this game. Assloads of guns, customizable everything, Unreal Engine, Sci-Fi wasteland setting, it's like they set out to create a game with the sole purpose of giving me an electro-boner.

Last I heard 2k said before Oct 31. I think Gamestop had the release date set for 9/1/09.
